CELEBRATING ‘FIRSTS’!
Aixin just recently turned two and has been at the institution since she was approximately 10 days old. Like a new mom, I have enjoyed watching her grow and blossom, and have especially taken pride in all her ‘firsts’. Read about Aixin's 'firsts' here: http://bit.ly/cfirsts

A week ago we went to a Chinese restaurant and Amanda ordered black tea. The server (who was not Chinese, btw) looked confused and told her they didn't have black tea. Amanda asked what all tea they had, and one of them the girl listed was Lipton. She brought it out and with one look, Amanda told her, "that's black tea."
The server said "no, it's actually brown."
Amanda, being the polite girl I raised her to be, didn't go into the fact that the rest of the world calls it Black tea.
/facepalm
(But ironically, in mandarin it is called Hóngchá, and Hong means red!)

Great article: 'Every once in a while someone will ask us whether we’re planning to have “kids of our own." I know they aren’t meaning to be hurtful, but Joshua and Jonathan are our sons in every way.'
