A Party Favor!

So, we launched the book with virtual cupcakes and glitter last night in TweetChat, and here are the party favors, made by the lovely Tirzah, The Compulsive Reader.

The phrases are various entries from the #EyesLikeStars contest run on Twitter. *has some insanely funny and creative friends*

They'd Better Not End Up

In the bottom 3.

I've watched this four or five times now, and cried every time.

And BOTH routines by Jason and Janette = perfection. This one was just too fun.

Happy Birthday, little book.

The child was very puzzled by all the excitement over Mama's book until I finally figured out how to explain it. "Today is this book's birthday."

Her face lit up. "That means we go to the westauwant!"

Well, yes. Yes it does.

...

I just want to take a moment to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, to my family and friends and the fabulous book bloggers and my fellow debut authors. For their enthusiasm and love and proppage when I needed it most. For their notes and emails and video greetings an

Sweet Sidewalk Celebration

I jokingly told someone on Twitter last night that Nate (the pirate) was a sea salt caramel chocolate cake and I was going to nom him. Then Myra McEntire mentioned she's taking friends and cupcakes to the local bookstore next Saturday, where there will be a Sidewalk Celebration for Eyes Like Stars.

And then we thought... maybe other people would like to play with us.

So here's the deal: you take a cupcake (or a brownie, or a PIE if you're a real fairy) to your bookstore and have an impromptu part

Calm down, we are still at Level: Cobalt Flame

I realize with each day that passes that the likelihood of getting a squee email or tweet or blog note from a friend saying "I GOT YOUR BOOK" increases exponentially. [info:] sunilsebastian  actually received a shipping notice, then an "out for delivery" email that is taunting us.

Per a conversation with him and [info:] jennawaterford on Twitter, we have: The Threat Levels (Incoming Hardcover Copies):

Right now, we are at Cobalt Flame, which is only slightly higher than Egyptian Plum. Next, we'd proceed to Green

Thoughts... I haz them

And no real time to type them up in any coherent way.

But we went to see Up today. I cried. A lot.

And then I started thinking back. Sure, Pixar has come up with some seriously kickass female characters... Eve (WALL*E) and Elastigirl and Edna (The Incredibles) but none of those characters is the lead.  Dory in Finding
