August: Gen Con

MCG will be at Gen Con 2018 (August 2-5) in Indianapolis, Indiana! We don’t have a lot of details yet, but look forward to loads of great games, a bunch of seminars, signings, and similar events, demos and new releases in our booth, and all the great fun we look forward to in the Best Four Days in Gaming!

April: International Tabletop Day

  Plans (including the date) for International Tabletop Day have not been announced yet, but we expect it’ll happen in 2018, and, as in years past, MCG will be taking part in the celebration of gaming!

August: Recursion GC18 – Gen Con Weekend Demo Event

Can’t make it to Gen Con? Recursion GC18 will be an opportunity to get in on the great games we run at Gen Con. Look for more details as August draws nearer!

November: Midwest Game Fest

Midwest GameFest is an annual game convention bringing a number of longstanding midwestern game organizations under one roof. The Role-Players Guild of Kansas City (Shauncon), Heart of America Historical Miniatures Gaming Society (Borderwars), and Gamer’s Haven Game Library have banded together to bring you roleplaying games, historical miniatures, board games, card games, organized play, cosplay, workshops, game designers, dealers, benefit events, a used game sale, and more! We haven’t nailed down our 2018 plans yet, but members of the MCG team Kansas City area usually put in an appearance at KantCon, and we’re looking forward to this year’s show!

Invisible Sun Design Diary 11: The Rule That Almost Was

A week or so ago, I put the finishing touches on the Invisible Sun Rules Primer. This is something that will help people understand the basics of the rules even before the game comes out, and will be available to people who backed the Kickstarter or who preorder the game now. As I was pulling together the explanatory rules material that would go in the primer, I found something in the text of the game that I realized would be a problem.
