Last Day to Get Atomic
Last Day to Get Atomic
As I mentioned before, listening to Atomic Array can get you a special discount code for dungeonaday.com. But today is the last day you can use this code to get "Atomic" savings. I won't give you the code here, but it would be an "Atomic" shame if you missed out.
Knowing me and my "Atomic" forgetfulness, I might not remember to turn the code off until tomorrow sometime.

Family Games: The 100 Best

Family Games: The 100 Best
In the wake of the fun and successful Hobby Games: The 100 Best, editor James Lowder and publisher Green Ronin are going to release a follow up, Family Games: The 100 Best. As the name suggests, this book covers board and card games meant for a more casual audience. Like the previous book, I contributed an essay to this one. I can't wait to see what other distinguished game industry folks like Alan R. Moon, Richard Garfield, and James Ernest wrote about.
The book should

New Descent Quest Book
New Descent Quest Book
I contributing a quest to the newly published Descent Quest Compendium from Fantasy Flight. If you play Descent (and you should, it's a cool game), I think you'll like this book. Lots of talented people contributed to it. My quest breaks the Descent rules a bit. Part of the map on another plane, dislodged from the rest of the map. It also lets the heroes take control of the monsters. There's a lot more to it than that, but more would be revealing too much. Basically, though

So That's What That Feels Like...
For the first time that I can remember... almost certainly for the first time since starting Malhavoc Press, and probably since 3E was launched, I have a clear inbox in my email program.
I get a lot of email, as you might imagine. The vast, vast majority of my work communication is email, and I rely heavily on email to run my current project, dungeonaday.com. Plus, I get a lot of fun emails from friends (most of my friends are like me and live via email) and the o

Losing Weight Can Be Expensive
Losing Weight Can Be Expensive
As I've mentioned here before, last year I lost about 40 pounds. Since then, I've maintained that weight, although I hope to lose another 10-15 pounds over the course of the summer. I don't think that's an unrealistic expectation, as once it warms up I'll go back to my routine of daily 45-60 minute walks with Marley which during the winter were more like 10 minute walks (and on more days than I care to admit the walk was skipped altogether). I'm fairly certain that

A Bit of Bond
A Bit of Bond
For the first time since I was a teenager, I didn't see the latest James Bond movie in the theater when Quantum of Solace came out. No special reason, really. I guess I was just busy.
I've long had a strange relationship with Bond. Like I said, I've seen most of those that came out in the last 25 years or so in the theater. I have a lot of them on DVD, and if one seems to be on regular TV while I'm flipping through channels, I'll at least linger on it for a while if not sit down and

Kobold Quarterly Column
Kobold Quarterly Column
The Spring issue of Kobold Quarterly is out now. Among a number of great articles (and what's very likely the final interview with Dave Arneson), this issue also contains the launch of my new column, Game Theories. I'm fortunate enough to have a great forum like KQ in which to wax philosophical about any number of game-related topics. I hope you'll check it out.

Dungeonaday on the Array
Dungeonaday on the Array
Dungeonaday.com is covered on the Atomic Array today. Why not give it a listen? You'll hear from both Jason Bulmahn (of Pathfinder fame) and myself and if you miss out on the Charter Member offer (which ends today!) you'll hear about an opportunity for what is still a really good deal offered to listeners. Plus, you could win one of two quarterly memberships.
