Seattlite Sattelites
Wandering through
Seattle for
Ice cream after
Indian food
Taken hostage by
Hijabis who made
Me feel like
I was family
Moody under the
Drone of streetlights
Being strung along
By three vibrant scarves
Contrasted by
Leather jackets
And black clothing
And cursing
Titans with a sure-
Footed swagger
Wandering, though, up
Blocks we know
Bylamps that grind
Like fireworks

Years and Years – Rehashed
This one is a poem. And like poems it’s weird and layered and from a particular point in my life when I was feeling especially bitter about old blood and all the fun stuff that comes with past flames being present ash.
I can see this poem was published in August of 2016, which would place it right between Year II and Year III in my internal head canon. This one may have very well signaled my growth as a person, or regrowth from what I thought I was.
Because the title ta...
Heartless Marketers
Right, right,
Write on your cardboard slats
In wind and rain to tell
The tales of all your pain
Dive through intersections
Where traffic can’t help but
Inspect your woes on display
Markers on posters pointed to
Each oncoming lane, asking for
Empathy and spare change
Every one of you holds
A degree in marketing
Using pithy cardboard
To make drivers feel guilty
‘It’s my birthday’, says one
‘Need food for family’, says another
And on one corner stands a man
And his ungroomed dog
Have sympathy fo...

Poor little guy. Ripped in half by sound.
Reaching Out
Revel in black
And feel around
Until eyes dialate
To the dark
Void surrounding
It’s okay, though
Because
Everyone else
Fears the dark
Due to unknowns
Lurking within
With the cost of
Willful ignorance
Being
Eternal cowardice

Never Sunny in Olympia – Journal 4/7/18
That didn’t happen. Olympia, anyways. Thursday was such a weird day, and Wednesday kicked it off. The weather didn’t even hold out, funny enough. The one day in a week where it rained.
So I asked my plus one if he really wanted to bother, as I’d been running off of a lot of tension and 2 hours of sleep that day, and thankfully we decided to scrap the poetry reading. Our plan would have consisted of filming with the GoPro, walking for about 4 miles out in the weather, and I think we both had f...

Jasmine Tea
Flowing at the speed of thought
Coursing through each nerve at once
Tendons the axles
Bones the girders
And cells the siphons
That drink in impulse
Every instinct wavering
Between the worlds of wish and action
Inner sanctums of the temple
Fill with meditation and thought
Monks tend to vases of incense
And steep tea still infusing
They guard the spirit
Which guides the whole
Governed by the souls it eats
And replenishes its own
Dislocation known as pain
When sinews snap within muscle
All that...
