Same Planet

Fear does run deep into the heart
Of anything done while we’re
Inebriated by vulnerabilities

And without naming specific
Days, times, places, wonders
I struggle to find words as to why

I appreciate you so much

So to this I’ll say
I think of all the drives
To wherever we go

Holding a paper cup of hot coffee
And looking across the table
At you

Talking about shitty movies
And chatting about what we’re doing
While we procrastinate making art

Arsty and matching
Glasses and eyeliner
Self-aware

You’...

Death6ish – Rehashed

I’ve finally stopped fiddling with my 100D long enough to sit down and take a look at part 1 of a 2 part sequence called Deathwish! Now, this poem, Death6ish, started in a way I can’t remember at this moment, but it tumbled way out of control and found itself glassed with references to Destiny as well as a pretty neat 6-line set that punctuates the entire piece.

As usual, including link to the full poem, but we’ll also be looking stanza-by-stanza.

Death6ish – Text

Stanzas 1 and 2:

“We planned...

Diffraction Spikes – Journal 4/14/18

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce the acquisition of a Canon 100D, the Rebel SL1. With this comes new worlds of A/V productions. Suddenly I can do things I’ve been wanting to for years. A 2K video package in a DSLR body. I even already have the lenses for it that would be most useful.

FOUND OUT WHY PEOPLE BUY BETTER LENSES: the motor on my telephoto lens is LOUd as hell. So probably won’t use that outside of manual focus if I find myself filming with it. But I do already have the f...

What better way to introduce a new camera than with a beagle?

Koreatown

Camera coverage is widespread
In the neighborhoods
Where celebrities
Hide their bread
And butter in sepulcers.

National guard,
Federal agents
Barricading
Against mayhem
Off of Franklin,

But here
In South Central barrios
We’re not protected
And heads are being
Split by thrown stereos.

Everyone was watching TV
When dear Rodney King
Was being beaten
By the officers, and we all
Watched as they were aquitted.

Even now, three days later,
He says we shouldn’t be fighting
Yet here we are
And there th...

Not brick ones, thankfully. These ones are much more important.
