VIDEO – BATMAN: ARQUITECTURA MORTAL (Death By Design) Foreign BRAZIL Edition


Here’s a quick post to share this fun YouTube Video “Book Review” of the “Foreign Language” Edition of BATMAN: DEATH BY DESIGN which is appearing in Spain and many other Latin American countries. It’s just really fun seeing this Graphic Novel in other languages and it’s also quite an honor to know that other people from around the world can enjoy the work. Oh yeah, here’s the video & for you Americans, it’s not in English, ha!

#MARVELOCITY Artist ALEX ROSS Makes an Appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers


 


Comic book writer and artist Alex Ross make an amazing TV appearance the other night where he talked about his artistic process, what drew him to the idea of drawing realistic versions of superheroes and explains why he doesn’t have an email.





Of course this appearance was on LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS and was all about promoting his new book, MARVELOCITY: The Marvel Comics Art of Alex Ross (Pantheon, in Stores Now!). Designed by Chip Kidd, Photography by Geoff Spear, Introduction by J. J. Abrams.

In this very well put together YouTube Video by Designer MEAD McCLEAN  he discusses the Book Cover Dust Jacket and Interior Page Design of the Hardcover version of Haruki Murakami’s “Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage”.


Mostly, this talk focuses on the use of the central “hand image” and its integration with elements of the story. Plus, it shows off some of the unique qualities of the book’s design, great job Mead & thank you!

Chip Kidd’s VULTURE Interview: The Stories Behind Haruki Murakami’s Most Iconic Book Covers


 


Lila Shapiro, a Reporter/Blogger over at VULTURE Magazine’s online website, recently conducted an extensive interview with the Designer Chip Kidd about “The Stories Behind Haruki Murakami’s Most Iconic Book Covers”. This covers (excuse the pun!) the over-25 year history of Chip Kidd designing Book Covers for all of the “Haruki Murakami”  First Editions published for the American Market(English Language versions). It’s pretty well done & lavishly illustrated with nice sharp photos of all the Murakami book covers that they talk about…. nice job Lila!
