LON CHANEY SPEAKS Graphic Novel (Pantheon) Got Nominated for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award!

Here’s some pretty exciting news and, if you can, we need you to vote now! The Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award, abbreviated to Rondo Award or Rondo, is a fan-based award where the public votes for a variety of individuals, entities, and media nominated in the horror genre. The award has been likened to a “Horror Oscar,” and is considered a “coveted” prize in the horror community!

Delayed by the Year of the Pandemic, here — finally! — is this year’s ballot for the best work in classic horror in 2020
Since 2002, the Rondos have been fandom’s only classic horror awards – decided by fans, for fans. Every nominee below is being recognized for significant achievements in 2020. By voting, you add your voice and make a difference.
As noted, 2020 was no ordinary year. Movies were delayed or sent streaming, conventions were canceled, and magazines struggled. But with some adjustments, we still have an amazing ballot to offer.
HOW TO VOTE: Voting is by email only. Simply copy this ballot onto an email (cut-and-paste works fine), and mark your choices with an X, or use bold or a highlight color. We know that can be awkward so you can also just type your picks into an email.
Send the email to David Colton, at taraco@aol.com by Sunday night at midnight, April 25, 2021.
— One vote per person, please. Every email must include your name to be counted. All votes are kept strictly confidential. No emails nor personal information will ever be shared with anyone.
— No, you do NOT have to vote in every category. Vote for one, all, or a few.
— IMPORTANT: Feel free to spread the word about Rondo – go social on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram; place Rondo banners on websites; urge friends to vote. But please DO NOT mass produce votes or send duplicate ballots, or use vote-generating software. Suspicious ballots will be rejected at the sole discretion of Rondo organizers.
— Again, to vote send your choices to taraco@aol.com.

“Lon Chaney Speaks” by Pat Dorian, Published by Pantheon, is in Stores now!

Here’s the cover for LON CHANEY SPEAKS (Pantheon) by Pat Dorian. The story is all about the life of the legendary silent-film actor Lon Chaney (the original Phantom of the Opera and Hunchback of Notre Dame ), as imagined by an artist whose work recalls the style and skill of early-era New Yorker Cartoonists.

From the artist: “‘No one will ever love me!’ I believe it was this near-universal fear that makes Lon Chaney’s characters continue to resonate with us today. On their surface, most of them are distinctly unlikeable: they are monsters, outcasts, criminals. But through his unique magic, Chaney makes them empathetic. He pioneered the craft of makeup artist long before that term ever existed, and he used his expertise to hide himself from public view–what if nobody loved him?”

Hardcover | $25.00
