Sandra Hill's Nine Rules for Nabbing a Viking Lover!

Ok, y'all...Sandra Hill is fabulous.  I could write Nine Reasons Why Sandra Hill is fabulous, but honestly, I only need three.  1) She's hysterically funny.  Her most recent release, Viking in Love , is a Viking retelling of the Dixie Chicks' Goodbye Earl.  That's pretty much all I needed to know.  2) She's writing about Vikings! Oh, how I have missed Viking romances, which had their heyday in the early 90s (maybe even earlier) and which I gobbled up by the dozens.  and 3) Her heroes (Caedmon ...

OMG! Nine Rules Is in the World! (Contest below!)

Today is the day, y'all!  My first adult romance, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake is out there!  In the world!  OMG!

So, before I head to the nearest bookstore to see if I can find a copy of my baby, I thought I'd give those of you who have never read a romance novel (because I know there are some of you out there) a primer on what to expect!

I give you: Nine Rules for Reading Romance
It's ok if you fall in love with the hero. The man in your life never has to know a thing.

Before...

Leanna Renee Hieber's Nine Rules for Victorian Ghostbusting

In the fall, as I was signing The Season at the fabulous Books of Wonder in New York City, I was approached by a stunning ginger-haired Leanna Renee Hieber who boldly introduced herself and invited me to Lady Jane's Salon--the now famous romance reading series that happens on the first Monday of every month here in NYC. Of course, I agreed to go to Lady Jane's...and my friendship with Leanna was born.

In the months that have passed, Leanna's first book, The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss...

Saundra Mitchell's Nine Rules for Getting by in Ondine, Louisiana

As I mentioned earlier this week, being a debut author is made infinitely better by having a collection of other debut authors to cling to during the insane time. When The Season released this time last year, I was lucky enough to have the 2009 Debutantes with whom to share my wins and losses...and as part of that, I was lucky enough to find the fabulous Saundra Mitchell, who isn't just a fellow 2009 YA debut, but also a great friend.

Aside from being a 2010 Edgar Nominee for best Teen Myst...

Nine Rules for Beginning Romance Readers!

I met the fabulous Alea from Pop Culture Junkie when The Season  was first released--Alea is a voracious reader of YA fiction, and she was kind enough to review The Season and welcome this fledgling YA author into her world. Little did she know that my next book, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake  (out next week!!! OMG!!!) would turn this pop culture junkie into a full-fledged Romance Junkie!

It's not every day that I turn someone into an addict...so I asked Alea to write her own Nine ...

Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord!

I'm pausing the Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake excitement to make an announcement!

I am so thrilled to reveal the title of my next book, Ten Ways to be Adored When Landing a Lord , will be released this fall!

Ten Ways is the story of Lord Nicholas St. John, twin (younger by four minutes) brother of the hero of Nine Rules, Gabriel St. John, Marquess of Ralston.  I'm not going to share much about the plot of the book just yet...but in the spirit of A WEEK FROM THE RELEASE OF NINE RULES ...

Rachael Herron's Nine Rules for Knitting in the Dark

Part of the fun of being a debut author is meeting an amazing group of other debut authors...and I've been lucky enough to be able to do this in two genres--last year in YA, when I met the fab 2009 Debutantes, and this year, in Romance!

Rachael Herron is one of those amazing debut romance authors...and her book, How to Knit a Love Song , out earlier this month, is one of those books that you can't help but cozy up to.  A big-city-girl-finds-love-in-a-small-town tale, it's fun and sweet and yum...

Aprilynne Pike's Nine Rules to Surviving High School as a Faerie

I was incredibly lucky to release my YA debut, The Season, as a member of the 2009 Debutantes, in no small part because the Debs introduced me to the fabulous New York Times Bestseller Aprilynne Pike! Aprilynne's Wings , the first in a series, was one of the top YA books of 2009, and the sequel, Spells, due out in May, takes the awesome to the next level!

I am so happy that Aprilynne was willing to take some time to do a Nine Rules post to celebrate the release of Nine Rules to Break When...
