Sha’al Quote

I could use a good quote to put in Sha’al. Anyone have any good quotes that might apply to the series? Here are a few candidates, but they just don’t fit quite right.

Fear

Over the last year I’ve been examining myself and how my decisions and actions are play out. How many things do I do out of fear? Fear of rejection or worse, retaliation. We are Saved, we’re not supposed to have fear. 

The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted. – Proverbs 29:25

So, whenever I reach a point of contention or decision, if I feel inclined to irrational fear, I decide to move forward in the direction of what causes the fear. (This is not to say that the gut feeling of personal harm should be ignored – but instead should be listened to.) 

And then I rest on this Scripure:

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. – John 8:31-32

The Word, our Creator and Savior, has set us free. Our false fears are vanquished. 

Free from the captive nature of sin. Free from death’s sting. Free from the fear of mankind and what they might do to me. Free to be the man God made me to be. 

Treasure and Ponder

Mary provides for us an excellent example concerning how we should live life. We are to treasure and ponder all of the good things.

But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. – Luke 2:15

syntēreō – treasure

1. to preserve (a thing from perishing or being lost)

2. to keep within one’s self, keep in mind (a thing, lest it be forgotten)

symballō – pondering

1. to throw together, to bring together

a. to converse

b. to bring together in one’s mind, confer with one’s self

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. – Philippians 4:8

By treasuring and pondering the good things, we protect our hearts from evil things.

Opinion

When you run into a person that won’t listen to reason or are caught up in their own opinion…

Sha’al Rough Draft

We got past 70 percent completion on the rough draft of Sha’al. It’s is good to know that only about 16 chapters remain to be written. Target date: Sept 22nd. Hopefully, and God is going to have to move on this one, we can publish on October 30th. 

I say ‘we’ because it’s not just me. 

First of all, Jesus, I can never give Him enough glory, praise and thanksgiving. 

My Bride, Phillis Hartman, Mark Olson, Kristel Monroe, Steve Workman, John Shellcrosslee, Fans, and many others have contributed to the writing of these novels. Everyone has provided input, prayer, or even a bit of praise when it felt like the work wasn’t helping anyone. 

Powerball

Sometimes, I wonder if winning the Powerball would be a curse.

Good News Eclipse

Today the USA experiences an eclipse. I look forward to looking out of my windows during work to look at the darkness in midday. 1:18 pm is the most interesting time. My area falls near the 80-90% line where we will only see 10% or so of the sun’s light. It’ll be cool, weird, and maybe even worrysome. 

Is there prophecy to go with it? I don’t know. Is God dooming America? I really don’t know. I’d say we’ve doomed ourselves with some of the choices Americans have made. So what is up with the eclipse? I really don’t know. I do know that God has used celestial events to prove his Sovereignty. He also used a star to point to the location of our Savior.

What do I think? I really don’t know, but I know we will find out eventually. I look at the path the eclipse is taking across America. It’s like a diagonal slash across the continental USA. I liken it to a sword slicing across. What does it mean? I don’t know. 

But I do know that God is still Sovereign. That He reigns in my life and the life of my wife. I know that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. 

Perhaps this sign is a wake up call to stop the direction we are headed and repent. Turn back to God and he will take care of us. 

Let’s make this a Good News Eclipse. Let’s marvel at God’s handiwork. And lift our hands in worship to Him.

You Are…
