Vegan Stories Podcast Interviews Anji & Ryan

Anji and her Happy Healthy Vegan partner, Ryan, were interviewed by Jeff of the Vegan Stories Podcast. This half hour chat goes back a bit into our history like how we met as a couple and when and why we went vegan, the effect our vegan diet had on our health and athletic performance, plus some talk about the debunking aspect of our YouTube channel, how Anji got started writing cookbooks and what went into them, and even some talk about our band, Lovespirals, and how Ryan got started with music making. Check it out at anchor.fm https://anchor.fm/veganstoriespodcast or Spotify or Apple Podcasts!

Mr. Alfa + Anji Bee Cover Fleetwood Mac

Back in 2014 Mr. Alfa hit me up to provide vocals for his electro pop cover of the legendary Fleetwood Mac song, “Landslide.” As a lifetime fan of the band I was a bit hesitant to take on this masterpiece. Hesitantly I recorded a sole vocal line and sent it off. Fast-forward 7 years and suddenly the song appeared on the Venus Recordings SoundCloud account!

Chillcast Valentine’s Day 2020 Mix On Mixcloud

SURPRISE! Bet you didn’t expect me to show up with a mix of love songs a few days *after* Valentine’s Day, did ya??? I’ve been contributing a Vday mix to the Cupid’s Hunt podcast collaboration since its inception in 2008, and I just couldn’t resist getting back into it again this year!!! You know I have trouble quitting The Chillcast, so it was a great excuse to go through all my unread music PR emails, scour the new releases on Soundcloud, and even hit up the freegal.com music site for cool new tunes in the theme of L-O-V-E. So get ready to kick back, relax, and let me soothe you and groove you once again for old time’s sake. <3

Lovespirals “Spinning Circles” Music Video Out!

An official music video for the song “Spinning Circles” from our ‘Life Goes On’ album is out now on the Lovespirals YouTube channel.

Lovespirals “Spinning Circles” filmed and edited by Anji Bee.

Over the past 2-3 years I’ve been filming various scenes I thought would work well with the lyrical concept and I finally took the time to edit them together for this fun must video that contrasts black and white and super colorful scenes. The parasol scenes were shot on Laguna Beach during the performance of ‘The Shoreline Project’ by artist Elizabeth Turk. We had randomly been on site just as 1000 people converged for this performance piece, and it was quite surreal! The carousel and teacups ride scenes were both shot at Disneyland, and the stupa scene was shot at Maui Dharma Center in Paia.

Hope this video makes you smile!

Anji Releases Happy Healthy Vegan Cookbook

I am proud to announce that I’ve just released my second independently published book, Happy Healthy Vegan Cookbook. This follow up to by 2016 debut cookbook, Keep It Carbed, Baby!, highlights the more savory side of my oil-free whole food plant based cooking style with 40 new easy to follow recipes focused on pantry staples and ingredients already found in most kitchens. Not only did I develop the recipes, I also took care of the food styling and photography, and handled all the design and layout of the book for print, PDF, Apple Book, and Amazon Kindle formats. It was a huge undertaking, so I’m very excited to have completed this project while under quarantine this year.

You can read all about the book’s contents on my webstore, where you can order an autographed copy of the print book directly from me or just grab a price friendly PDF download version: shop.happyhealthyvegan.org. Both Happy Healthy Vegan Cookbook and Keep It Carbed, Baby! are available on Apple Books and Kindle for Amazon, as well. If you’d like to keep up with my book projects, review my books, or see what I’m reading, come follow me at goodreads.com/anjibee

Chillcast Interview Archive on Mixcloud

I’ve been adding my various artist interview features to my Anji Bee Mixcloud page to create an archive of my work. I really loved working on these more complicated episodes of The Chillcast with Anji Bee and wanted to make sure that they are available, not only for fans of the show, but for fans of the artists, as well. I created a playlist of the artists features to make them easier to find, too. Start listening to the interview features FREE on Mixcloud with this handy player:

Artists included in this playlist so far are are Beth Hirsh, Science for Girls, The Grooveblaster, Lol Tolhurst of Levinhurst, Karmacoda, Lovespirals, Paul Mac Innes, and your hostess, Anji Bee. Still to be added are Paul & Price, MoShang, Sunburn in Cyprus, and Hungry Lucy.

Tim Where Are You Now? CD features Lovespirals

of Black Tape for a Blue Girl created to honor what would have been the 100th birthday of Tim Leary this month. It’s a collaborative album packed full of special guests including my Lovespirals partner, Ryan Lum, and I (on tracks 6 & 8). I really enjoyed working on something non-lyrical and for “PSY PHI love means High Fidelity” I pulled inspiration from the amazing female vocals of the original Star Trek series theme song, which has always been a fave of mine. This song also features special guests Byron Metcalf and Martin Bowes. The CD is available on Bandcamp, where you can opt to purchase a digital download on the “Name Your Price” deal (meaning you can pay $0 if you want…), and it’s also available to stream on all digital platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.
