SURRENDER TO JESUS
Dear Friends,
As I prayed early this morning I heard such encouraging words from the Lord for those who are struggling to see and understand what is going on around you right now. These words are a gentle reminder of what is always most important, which is our heart's total surrender to Jesus. I pray these words from His heart will bless you!
“A surrendered heart is all I need. No matter what you are going through, your surrender to Me is the key to victory. You may not have the answers; you may not even see the way ahead of you, but a simple surrendering of yourself again is the yieldedness that allows Me to move you forward.”
I saw two visions as the Lord spoke: the first was of the Lord dancing with His Bride, leading her across a dance floor with His steps. As she surrendered to His lead, she was automatically led into the places where she needed to be.*
The second vision was of a child's game: a “trust walk,” where someone is blindfolded, and must yield and listen to the guidance of the one who sees. In this vision, the voice of Jesus was guiding.
The Lord continued to speak, saying:
“Your highest calling is to give Me your heart daily. There is no other purpose or call greater than that. It is our unity that contains power not only to accomplish great things, but also to defeat the enemy. Your safest place - even when you don’t see the future - is in Me.
“When you cannot see what I am doing, you come to trust more deeply in My gentle touches, which become a love language more powerful than any words can convey. I am sensitizing you to the slightest movements; the slightest impressions of My touch, so that you are able to instinctively follow where I lead without needing to see or understand. Your responses become automatic and there is less need for conversation and explanation simply because you trust Me deeply. You know.
“The enemy would frustrate you in places like these, places where sight is hindered or impossible. Instead of yielding to the enemy's pressure and frustration, yield to the gentle impressions I am releasing now. Lean into what you know is of Me, and your sensitivity to My promptings will grow stronger, even in the face of demonic taunts.
"In times like these you will not always perceive your own progress; it will seem like you are going in circles when in fact, you’ll find that I have all the time been moving you across the room, out of the crowded chaos and into a place of intimacy and peace with Me.
“Do not fear the darkness (of being or feeling sightless). Fear losing touch with Me!”
*Early church fathers talked about the Trinity in terms of a divine dance (Greek: "perichoresis," meaning "rotating" or "going around"), with each member finding joy in one another as separate yet completely unified.
The underlying - and almost romantic - sense of perichoresis in the Godhead is often lost in traditional theological exegesis. Yet as even a cursory reading of Song of Songs or John 17 indicates, our triune God welcomes believers into this very same "dance" of love and union with Him, filling and encompassing us with His Presence!
I'm praying for each of my readers and friends today, that your "love language" with Jesus will be one of deep surrender, complete trust even when you don't understand, and the knowledge that you are dearly loved and encompassed all around by His everlasting arms.
Blessings,
Deborah

SEASONED BELIEVERS: IT'S TIME TO INVEST IN THE NEXT GENERATION!
Dear Friends,
In a powerful encounter early this morning, I heard the Lord saying: "it's time to invest in the next generation!" I believe the Lord is beginning to show many of us specific investments we are to make in the next generation of believers in Christ. I heard Him say: "Mentor, sow, feed, nurture, and cherish these young ones whose hearts need direction right now. Don’t allow your own frustrations to quench their fresh hope!”
It is so important that those who are "seasoned" believers in the Lord not allow the weariness and frustration from past and present seasons to color their attitudes towards youth who are arising now to take their places in God's army! Although the battles have been fierce and long, and many are still raging, the younger generations need guidance and wisdom from those who have experienced many years of challenges and victories in the Kingdom.
The Lord began speaking about faithfulness in particular, reminding me of a key phrase: “Consistency (or faithfulness) is the key to power.”
I hear Him saying to the Body of Christ: “As things continue to be shaken, the church at large must remain firmly planted and immovable in Me. Righteousness has deep, immovable roots (Proverbs 12:12) and remaining in righteousness (or in Christ) will produce fruit.
"This is a Psalm 91:7 moment: though there will be a great shaking which impacts thousands, you will be immovable as you stand in the place of righteousness and see My goodness towards you. Declare and decree your protection in Me! Take the scepter of righteousness and RULE in the midst of your enemies; do not be shaken or deterred yourselves from the places where I have planted you, for your positions are secure and necessary.
"Continue to sow into the ones coming behind you; those rising up beneath you as fresh recruits to My army, for these will have the energy you lack in difficult times. Those who have gone to war before can now provide the resources for those who are ready to emerge on the battlefield. Look around you and see: what can you GIVE in this hour to those who are ready to take their own stand FOR ME and IN ME? How can you equip the ones whose hearts are FOR ME, yet who still need guidance FROM ME?
"I would bring a connection between the generations as one generation gives and sows and the other arises to their destiny. What you feel ill-equipped to do, they will begin to carry or do themselves. TURN AROUND and see the new direction I am taking you; do not be so ensconced in your old ways of thinking, however 'right' they were in previous times, that you cannot perceive the new wineskins, the new leadership, and the new direction!
"For I will do a NEW THING which will astound the “establishment” in every sector of society, in every realm, as you equip and empower the new leaders arising at this time. Release your expectations of HOW and focus instead on WHO! I will show each of you specific people or groups of people to invest in, to mentor, or to speak to, so that they are strengthened and built up in Me.
To the older generations: "Do not minimize your wisdom, but be willing to impart what you have by stepping back as necessary to let them lead. What seems unclear to you is intuitive to them because they were born for this hour!”
I see that the current events surrounding our national election are reflecting a similar situation in the Kingdom of God. Just as there is tension and a division between old and new leadership in the political realm, so there is also a division between those who KNOW the Lord authentically and those who are simply following their own courses of action “in His Name.”
While the mountain of government is sorting between righteous and unrighteous leadership, those on the Mountain of the Lord are in a transition process between setting aside the old ways and stepping into the new. I hear the Lord saying: “I am on the side of RIGHTEOUSNESS. Righteousness and justice are the foundations of My throne!”
Isaiah 40:1-11 is a key passage for leaders at this time!

ACTS 2:32 ~ WITNESSES OF THE RESURRECTION
Dear Friends...
Here’s the funny part: I actually wrote three posts for you this week. This is the third one, but don’t worry; I never published the first two!
I am in the midst of a retreat with the Lord until our national election, and my heart is so full. Thank you to those of you whom I know are praying during this time. There is so much the Lord is saying, so much He is releasing right now that is SO VERY GOOD!
It is relatively easy to write out of the “overflow” from these deeper times of prayer, and perhaps the other two posts will be forthcoming. I don’t know. I do know that the Lord asked me to share these words from the Shepherd’s heart today.
When the Lord inscribes something on the tablet of your heart, His signature is unmistakable. I hope you will find this to be so as you read these words, which are a love letter for you.
ACTS 2:32 ~ WITNESSES OF THE RESURRECTION
Amidst all of the thundering revelation and day-to-day information that the Lord releases to those who listen, there comes, at times, the voice of a gentle Shepherd. The sound of this voice carries authority, tenderness, and love that quiets all other voices and silences all other thoughts. Perhaps you know this Voice.
God is in the storm, but He is also close to the brokenhearted. As believers, we have the distinct privilege of knowing a God who chooses - despite all our challenges to the contrary - to reveal His manifold nature to us. He is truly good!
As I’ve journeyed with Him through several weeks of prayer, one of the verses He’s given me repeatedly is Acts 2:32: “God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it.”
This statement is part of the Apostles’ doctrine; it comes from the very first speech that Peter gave when he stood up on Pentecost, preaching to those on whom the fire of God fell.
Believers sometimes assume that this verse speaks only of those who were alive to see Jesus' resurrection historically. These same people say that the power of the early church died with the martyred apostles. I believe, as I know many of my readers do, that this verse is more than just a historical statement.
THE RESURRECTION: OUR FOUNDATION
A witness is a martyr; someone who is willing to die for a truth they believe. The ninth of the ten commandments in Exodus prohibits bearing false witness, and Jesus later affirms that truthful witness is a condition for our entrance into eternity. (Deut 5:20; Matt 19:16-18.)
Ironically, Jesus died on the testimony of false witnesses, yet His resurrection makes us witnesses of what is actually true!
The Apostle Paul writes:
“...if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead. But He did not raise Him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:12-18)
When we encounter Christ for the first time, confessing our faith in Him, we become “witnesses” to the truth of His life in us now and our hope of eternity later. When the Spirit is poured out on believers, it is to empower us to be witnesses of the hope of glory through Jesus Christ.
These times of trial reveal who the true and false witnesses really are. Those who hold onto their testimony of God’s love and faithfulness in the darkest seasons are those who are true witnesses - or martyrs - for Christ. They die daily to their own misconceptions of who God really is, and reconcile others to Christ in the process. They will be rewarded for their faithfulness.
THE RESURRECTION: OUR RESTORATION
Resurrection power is unlimited, as the book of Acts shows. Jesus didn’t die just to save our spirits! He came for the whole man; for all that concerns us.
This is one of the reasons why I love the Lord. I have been delivered from captivity in many areas of my life, and am still being delivered today. The power of Christ touches spirit, soul, and body to restore what is broken or lost. Our salvation is an ongoing process. (Philippians 2:12.) The best thing we can do in trials is to become prophets and restorers of our own lives.
Salvation is, in part, an emotional process. We are called to die to what is old so that the new creation can rise up. We cast down false imaginations and lying thoughts and renew our minds with what is biblical and true. As this transformation of our minds and souls occurs, we become witnesses to His power working in us, but we also become restorers of life to others.
For healing to occur in the Body of Christ right now, we need witnesses. We need people around us who really “get” what it means to feel pain; to be betrayed; to feel abandoned, alone, or rejected. The restoration process is ignited through testimonies of witnesses. Christ is the Healer, but He calls His Body to be the voices and hands that help us when we need “Jesus with skin on.”
It is because those who love God invested time and energy to bring me to the Throne, enjoying God together, that I discovered the power of prayer.
It is because I was able to rest my tear-streaked face on a spiritual father’s heart that I encountered the heart of a loving heavenly Father for the first time.
It is because dear friends took my hands and sat quietly with me in moments of deep personal pain that I found hope in valleys of trouble.
The journey is not easy, but it becomes easier when we walk together in unity, in the presence of those who are “witnesses” to our lives. Their stories of healing and restoration inspire us to believe for our own.
THE RESURRECTION: OUR POWER FOR LIFE
I know that many of you are facing great pain and uncertainty right now. Not all of it is pandemic-related.
Some of you are long-term caretakers of those who can no longer care for themselves. You wonder how long your own body will hold out because of the weariness.
Some of you are in covenant with someone you love deeply, but who has changed drastically and is no longer the person you first met. You feel stuck and betrayed.
Some of you have children or grandchildren whose hearts are far from the Lord and who no longer connect with you. They feel, perhaps, that you are an anachronism, or that your faith is irrelevant.
The beautiful joy Christians have - which compels me to write - is that God is not outdated! The resurrection is still relevant and receivable today!
We need only one thing to navigate these times. It’s the same thing Paul spoke of in Philippians 3:10:
“I want to KNOW CHRIST and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death.”
Proverbs 9:10 tells us that “knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” When we come to KNOW GOD as He is, we gain understanding of how to navigate all the other things happening around us. Everything becomes clearer in His Presence!
When life doesn’t make sense; when the marriage seems irreparable or the children incorrigible, what we need most is to KNOW HIM and His ways. When we, like doubting Thomas, ask Jesus, “How can we possibly know the way? Where are You going?” Jesus replies: “I AM the way.”
When we “ac-KNOW-ledge” God in all our ways, He directs our paths.
I believe that one of the most powerful “moves” of God we should be praying for right now is the move of God on the hearts of men for healing and unity to be restored. Resurrection power in Acts flows most freely when believers come together as witnesses and warriors. The early Christians witnessed not just the one-time event of Christ’s resurrection, but also the miracles God did in and through them afterwards as He released ongoing resurrection power.
Believers are in divine “boot camp,” being trained together for God’s army. God will bring people alongside us at crucial moments to help us through painful places, to provide support, and to encourage so that we all graduate into serviceable soldiers and warriors for His Kingdom. We are not meant do life alone!
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
As I’ve pondered my own mission and prayed about what God is doing right now, I have discovered that the deepest cry of my heart is identical to the cry of so many other leaders and warriors who have gone before me. At its simplest, the cry is this:
“God, if you don’t go with us, we’re not going. We MUST have Your Presence!”
Moses, Hannah, Gideon, Jeremiah, and Jesus all echoed this cry. Many leaders and prayer warriors are echoing it now.
The funny part is that God happens to agree!
Jesus says: “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” Why, then, do we think that God would leave us stranded, or “forget” that we need His assistance? He answers that prayer, saying: “I will never - no, NEVER - leave you without support” (Hebrews 13:5).
~As I stood on the shore of a Cape Cod beach last week, sharing communion with the Lord by the sea, this same cry welled up in my heart again. It has been a difficult year in so many respects for all of us. Who can even begin to process what is happening on the earth today? How can we be effective witnesses for Christ, especially as persecution increases? Lord, please show us the way!
Christ is the way. There seems to be no better solution than this. Amidst all of the “swirling” of the enemy and the amplified “noise” that screams from every mountain of society, my only job is to fix my gaze squarely on HIM. To look into His beautiful eyes and to hear Him say to me over and over until I truly believe: “I will never leave you. I have never forsaken you. You are Mine.”
Praying for each of you,
Deborah

THE DAYS OF NOAH
Dear Friends,
I hear the Lord saying: “These are as the days of Noah.”
Like Reagan before him, President Trump has used the words “drain the swamp” as a catchphrase for how he will combat corrupt and inefficient bureaucracy. Yet in the Spirit, I see that what is happening today could be better described as a flooding.
In a vision last week, I saw springs of the deep being opened up and water rising all across the earth. This great surge of water had the effect of flushing out evil in the government and in every sphere. I heard the Lord say:
“This exposing (of evil on the earth) is a flushing out of the “swamps” by waters from My deep storehouses; people do not perceive this as glory, but I tell you it is the pure springs of glory pouring forth from beneath that are causing evil to be exposed in this day.
"The rains will now also begin to fall in great torrents like you have never seen; think of the outpourings in Toronto and Brownsville, but MULTIPLIED in their force and effect.”
The powerful outpouring I saw in the Spirit was not in one place alone, but covered the earth in its scope and dimensions. I heard the Lord say: “You have no idea HOW BIG I AM and how I long for a total immersion of My people in My Presence! Joy will be magnified as those who are rescued find great purpose and peace in this hour.”
Genesis 7:11 says that in the 600th year of Noah’s life, on the 17th day of the 2nd month, “all the springs (fountains) of the deep burst open, and the FLOODGATES of the sky (the “windows” of the heavens) were opened.”
17 is the number of overcoming victory and inheritance. Not only did the springs of water begin to flood the earth on the 17th day, but Noah’s ark also came to rest on the mountains of Ararat on the 17th day of Nisan after the waters subsided.*
The Lord began speaking of His people as “gates” - floodgates - who would be used to control the release of an overwhelming power, like torrential rains or rushing water, to those around them, directing its flow as the Spirit leads them.
I saw some of God’s people as “sluices” or sliding doors in the Spirit. Floodgates are usually set SIDE BY SIDE (what a picture of Joel’s army!) on a spillway wall. Blocks of steel or cement (fusegates) or doors (stopgates) can act as a fixed dam or increase the storage capacity of existing dams; but in massive flood situations they are designed to lift open or topple forward to allow for a controlled discharge of water.
Multiple gates set next to each other are progressively released as flooding occurs to minimize the impact of floodwater on downstream rivers. The analogy is that as the rains of God’s glory begin to pour out upon the earth, those who are ready and positioned IN HIM will be used to direct the flow of this great outpouring, expanding our capacity to reach the harvest.
"YOUR PLACE OF TRUST IS YOUR PLACE OF PROVISION"The Lord woke me at 3:23 AM that same morning, highlighting the time and saying: “Your place of trust is your place of provision.”
An overview of several “3:23” Scriptures reveals a divine “dance” of sorts. We find the contradictions of joy interspersed with trials and harvest released even as faith is tested. These “contradictions” certainly reflect the current time in which we live.
Daniel 3:23 shows us three of God’s men being thrown into the fire.
Yet Ezekiel 3:23 reveals a prophet encountering the glory of the Lord.
Romans 3:23 warns that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of the Lord.
Yet John 3:23 brings a harvest of souls to John the Baptist, who has found “plenty of water” at Aenon (which means “spring” or “fountain”) near Salim (meaning “peace”).
Such prophetic pictures of trust and abundant provision - and our need for faith in this difficult time!
"YOUR PLACE OF REST IS YOUR PLACE OF PROTECTION"The name "Noah" means "rest."
Continuing to watch this vision, I saw (as I know many others have also seen) that as the water level rose there were many large ships on the waters. These ships (or "arks") represented places of rest, protection, and refuge where believers were safe and able to fulfill their Kingdom assignments.
In the vision, the exposing of evil happened because deep wellsprings were overflowing, causing corruption to be brought to the surface where it had once been submerged. Judgment seemed imminent. Yet unlike on Noah's ark, these modern-day ships could still rescue others from the water if those in peril desired.
Again I heard the Lord say:
"I am releasing a flood of My glory on the earth at this time. Those who know me, like Peter, will know what to do when this flood arrives. As the wind came at Pentecost, so the water will come now.
"You must be prepared to navigate the waters by being within the ark of My Presence at all times; this will be for a sign and a wonder to those who are watching you! What you perceive as coming rains will turn into such a deluge that no one will be able to control it; your only choice will be to weather it from the safety of My 'ships.'
"Come into the place of My Presence, Dear Ones, and remain on the ships to which I have called you, lest you be overwhelmed by what I am doing on the face of the earth. Your perspective (from above, for those who soar; or from below, when sealed in the “ark” of My Presence) will allow you to still cry out, even to rescue others, but many will NOT heed the calls - even the “clarion calls” of the prophets - in this hour, and will go off to their own destruction.
"There are many “ships” at the ready for this time. Be prepared to navigate, and recognize that the “movement” of My Presence is much bigger than many expect, not being confined to one area or location.
"Rescue those who come to you now. See YOURSELVES as open gates and as places of refuge: “arks,” if you will, on the seas which will bring stability to those who ‘enter’ through you.
"I AM 'NOAH!' I AM the place of your rest and refuge, the Shepherd and Overseer of all that concerns you, and I will provide for you. These very springs of water will sustain and refresh you. You will collect even these rains (of glory-water) to drink and you will refresh others as you redirect and release these rains into prophetic utterances for others. Let Me fill you with DRINK and MEAT in My Presence to provide for those who are with you on the ark."
"As the dove was sent out from Noah’s ark, some “dove-believers" will be sent out from this place of rest to gain greater perspective, scouting out the land and reporting on the conditions in the world."
I believe the Lord - our true Noah - is speaking to some of you now about His desire to use you as "dove-believers." These are the seers and spies who are sent out in the Spirit to discern both terrain and timing. If you have felt a call in your spirit to return to a deeper place of prayer, it is imperative that you set aside time now to develop that ability to "soar" in the Spirit!
The battles of the future will not be fought or won on land, but by air. For the Body of Christ, our ability to navigate these times successfully will be in direct proportion to our ability to see spiritually from the air, since earth's current terrain will become unreadable.
Dear Friends, you must dwell on the ark to survive and navigate this time! Any other source of “protection” will fail you. The Lord will save your families as you remain in Him. I urge you to be dedicated to His Presence, to capture what you can of these refreshing rains, and to nurture the ones God has placed around you. You will never regret your time with the Lord!
Your place of REST is your place of protection. Your place of TRUST is your place of provision. These are dark days, but there is still time to call people into the ark of God’s merciful Presence!
My prayer is that every His Inscriptions reader will lovingly reach out to those who still need to access a place of safety.
~Deborah

"I WANT TO SEE MY REFLECTION!"
As in water, face reflects face, so a man’s heart reveals the man.
~Proverbs 27:19
Dear Friends,
My favorite time to pray is in the early-morning hours, when darkness shields my eyes from unending tasks and silence surrounds my ears, allowing me to focus more intently on the Lord.
Stillness is easier here, in the quiet that blankets our home. I encounter the Lord most often during these peaceful times, as I know many of you do also. These times are precious to me!
One night, as I worshiped and shared communion with Him, I had a vision. In the Spirit, I saw Jesus standing on what looked like the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
In His hands He held my heart.
The Lord has “held” my heart before, pulling it out and showing me areas that need change, or highlighting work He is doing to conform my heart to His. On this particular night, though, the Lord was smiling as He examined my heart.
As I watched and listened, He said: “I can see My reflection in your heart!”
STILLNESS REVEALS GOD'S REFLECTIONAs with water, stillness is required for a reflection to appear. (Proverbs 27:19)
Jesus expected His disciples to see God in Him, saying in John 14:9: “Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father.” The Son of Man was confident that not only was He made in the image of God, but that He was also an "imager" of God: a reflection of who God is.
As we behold the Lord in times of silent, reflective prayer, God transforms us, inscribing His glorious Presence on the tablets of our hearts. Although darkness covers the earth, God expects His glory to be seen upon His children! When we encounter God this way, His glory is written like a letter upon our hearts to be “read” by those who will encounter us.
Those who cultivate a life of stillness and rest through prayer renew themselves. They also become signposts on the busy highway of life for those ‘running to and fro.’ (See Isaiah 30:15 & Daniel 12:4) A maturing soul learns to humble and still itself in the Presence of God, having no ambition other than to live quietly and peacefully in Him. The effect of this behavior is a discernible peace that is attractive to the world.
The most influential people in my life have been the ones who have imparted the strongest sense of peace and love because of their own prayerful relationship with Christ. I longed to be like them! (For stories of people who did this for me, read the minibook: Why Pray?)
STILLNESS RELEASES REVELATIONWe often think of prayer as something we do, reciting lists of requests or petitions we or our friends want made to the King of Kings. Our hope in most cases is that when we pray, God will answer by “stilling” the storms that toss us about like battered ships.
Yet Philippians 4 speaks of a peace that soothes and guards our hearts, not necessarily our situations! When anxieties buffet our hearts and minds, prayer becomes a lifeline to the One who calls Himself the “Shepherd and Guardian of our souls.” Prayer is meant to transform us, not God!
One night, one of my sons walked into the bedroom where I had been praying for several hours. The Presence of God was tangible at that moment, and he found me on the floor weeping. He entered cautiously, looking for a goodnight kiss, which I gave him.
To my surprise, as he turned to leave, my son waved his hand and said “Goodnight, Jesus!”
This simple acknowledgement of the Lord’s Presence blessed my heart - but it also blessed the heart of the Lord. That night, my son had a revelatory dream about the coming days.
He was climbing a path around a bell tower which became engulfed in rising waters. The tower began to fall. For a moment he was able to take refuge against the tower wall, wrapping himself in a wave for safety and leaning against the tower as it was quickly swept out to sea.
In the middle of his dream, though, the tower he was leaning on disappeared and fear took hold. Suddenly, he said, there was total stillness.
In the quiet, my son looked down beneath the surface of the water and was immediately captivated by the beauty of the undersea living creatures swimming below. Fear vanished and my son - who normally prefers always to be within sight of land - realized he was not afraid of being out in the deep! An amber-colored “orb” of light appeared in front of my son in the water. Despite the urgency of the moment, he knew God was with him.
The stillness my son encountered, embraced, and acknowledged in an atmosphere of prayer led to a revelation which helped him see that God would be with him in times of trial.
STILLNESS BRINGS RESTORATIONResting beside quiet waters fills us with joy in God’s Presence and empowers us to return, refreshed, to those around us who need restoration. The peace we find in the Presence of our Shepherd is not confined to one location; it is both portable and transferable!
The same Jesus who nourishes His weary disciples with breakfast by the sea sends them out, restored themselves, to gather, feed, and heal others. Those who know the way to quiet waters will bring others back to meet their Shepherd too!
I hear the Lord saying today: “I want to see My reflection in your heart!” Stillness is your key!
Can those surviving in this storm-tossed world see the peace of God in you? Have you quieted your soul enough that others can “read” the inscriptions of Christ on your heart?
I pray that you will return daily to the place of encountering our Good Shepherd by quiet waters, that you in turn might become Reflectors, Revealers, and Restorers!

THERE IS AN ANOINTING IN YOUR BROKENNESS!
Listen to the PodcastDear Friends,
Exactly eight months to the day since the glory of God entered my home (see this post for the beginning of the story ) , I was preparing to take communion with the Lord in the early morning hours before dawn. To my surprise, I heard the Lord say: “I want to lead our time of communion today.”
As we shared the elements together He spoke these words:
“My body, broken for you, is a symbol of My love. It is the international symbol of love for mankind. It is the standard for love upon which all other models of love are (or should be) based. To fall short of the standard of the cross - of a sacrificial life - is to fall short of true love.
“Most people do not define love as “brokenness.” Yet a broken heart is one I can both fix and fill to capacity, for in its brokenness, all of self is poured out and there is room for My anointing of love to come in.
“Many people will never know true love because they will not allow themselves to be broken and poured out for another. Yet I tell you, every time you yield to My anointing for brokenness, your capacity to love will expand.”
THE LORD LOOKS ON THE HEART
In a time when love seems to be in short supply worldwide, it is essential for the Body of Christ to return to her First Love - and to develop a deeper love for others.
Earlier in my Christian life, I remember thinking to myself that I had a pretty good ability to love others. I had been a believer for most of my life; I did not murder or steal or gossip, and I felt pretty confident that I was fulfilling the “law of love.”
However, one day as I prayed, I had an encounter with the Lord that forever changed my perception of love. In a vision that lasted no more than five seconds, the Spirit of God suddenly lifted what seemed like a veil off of my heart, allowing me to see what my heart really looked like on the inside. The sight was terrifying.
I saw such disgusting selfishness and depravity in my own heart, such pride and self-deception, that the vision caused me to cry out in horror and alarm with desperate tears of repentance. I knew that day that nothing in my heart measured up to the Lord’s holy standard!
As quickly as the vision began, piercing my heart with the fear of the Lord, it ended. The Spirit of God drew the veil back over my heart and the overwhelming sense of my own sinfulness dissipated.
I have never forgotten what He showed me that day. There is always room for repentance.
KINGDOM EXPANSION THROUGH BROKENNESS
Returning to my early-morning communion with the Lord, I heard Him begin to speak about Kingdom expansion as it relates to the “soil” of the heart. We know that both love and life flow from our hearts. Outward expansion of God’s Kingdom is intricately linked to what happens inwardly in our hearts.
“Expansion comes no other way; see how the ground must be plowed, harrowed, and broken in order for the Builder’s foundation to be laid! No sensible builder would expect to construct anything of lasting value or integrity without first breaking ground and digging deep.
“In the same way, those who want to experience My love must also experience their own brokenness. Kindness leads to repentance; brokenness leads to love. Those who desire to “live godly in Christ Jesus,” fulfilling My Kingdom command to “love one another deeply, from the heart,” will similarly have their hearts broken again: this time for others.
“Those whom you desire to reach through love will be those who also break you, causing you to become more loving! Why is this so? Because the way you want to give love may not be the kind of love they need; each one I have created is unique and different and will require you to change in order to reach and heal them.
“Do not despair, but understand that this very process is the plan I have designed for your tenderness as well as for their growth! Without breaking there will be no expansion. Without expansion, love will grow cold.”
How true this was, I thought! Each of us has our own “love language,” or ways we prefer to receive love. Each of us also has individual wounds and scars that require caution on the part of those who want to reach out and love us. We need sensitivity in the Spirit to know what to change and how best to personally apply the love of God as we reach out to others.
Yet what do we do when someone resists us? The Lord continued:
“Receive challenges and offenses as indicators of where My heavenly “plow” is set next to break ground in your heart. We will keep building this Kingdom of love together; we will keep targeting and breaking and digging and building until we take back the land, developing in you and on earth what is necessary for the world to know and see the extent, the magnitude of My love and provision for them.”
THE LORD LOOKS ON THE HEART
The following day as I interceded for a friend, I had a vision of the Holy Spirit coming in like a plow or a harrow, turning over clods of compacted soil in my heart. He gently broke up the ground, turning it over in front of me so that I could see it.
As I looked, I saw that the clods of earth He was breaking up had to do with a specific fear I had within my heart. I watched as this fear surfaced and was “exposed” by the plow, which had hurt when it first cut into my heart. Yet the moment I was able to identify the fear, it lost its grip of pain over me. I was immediately freed by the simple recognition of what it was that had brought me so much pain.
Friends, the enemy has cut into the greater Body of Christ with his sharp edges of selfishness, division, and separation. The love of many has already grown cold, and we are in the midst of civil dissension and unrest that is alarming. The set of Satan’s plow is not gentle; his sharp edges have caused great trauma in our land, and his goal is not to build but to destroy. Only repentance can mend these rifts.
In contrast, when the Lord plows the heart, there is gentleness and love for our “land” or soil, along with a desire to heal us. Although the plow hurts at first, it hurts because truth pierces the lies that don’t belong in our hearts and protest their uprooting. Once the initial “set” of His plow takes place, all that follows brings healing.
Praise God, we need not fear the harrow of the Lord! If you have been afraid of brokenness, I want to encourage you today: it is far better to yield to the set of God’s plow and receive His healing than to suffer through the wilderness of a heart and land left uncultivated or undeveloped.
To take back our land (whether in our hearts or in our nation) is to yield to a deeper work of the Holy Spirit, a work which pierces at the outset but makes room for joyful love and expansion in the end!
I hear the Lord asking us once again to become a people of sacrificial love, whose communion with Christ includes the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings. What better time than now, during the ten “Days of Awe” leading to Yom Kippur, to reset our hearts to the standard of Christ's cross, His sacrifice, and His love?

"I Will Greatly Multiply Your Seed!"
As I prayed this morning, I heard the voice of the Lord speaking about seeds and harvest. It is so important to be sowing God's Words right now so that He can multiply our harvest!
The Lord also reminded me of a word He had released in January, 2017 concerning the "Garden of the Lord," which I have not published until now. The two words dovetailed so beautifully that I wanted to share them with you today.
My prayer is that these words will encourage you to intentionally plant the "seeds" the Lord is giving you in this season so that you can see a great harvest.
The Garden of the Lord"You have come upon a Garden – a Paradise of life in the Spirit, and you wonder at the richness and depth of My soil! Here there are no rocks; no weeds to interfere; no shade or darkness to stifle growth. There is only sun and fruitfulness; growth and joy.
"As you cherish each flower and plant in My Kingdom Garden, gather from it the seeds and the beauty to take back with you, and plant them in the lesser (earthly) gardens. These heirloom seeds may be captured and made to reproduce in wilder climes.
"Take the seeds of My Words and sow them into the hearts of the people to whom I send you, and into those who cross your paths. In every place, these seeds will produce life. It will be up to the recipients to cultivate their beauty and maintain their joy.
"What I share with you always has potential for growth and expansion, like the leaven that expands a loaf, or the oil that never runs out. Food multiplies; seeds produce orchards and crops in abundance through the law of multiplication in My Kingdom!
"Once I give you seeds, they must be planted by faith in peoples' hearts in order to grow and produce a harvest. MANY PEOPLE RECEIVE MY SEEDS BUT STORE THEM AWAY, NEVER PLANTING THEIR CROPS! DO NOT BE ONE OF THEM!
"Every Word of Mine carries within it the potential for multiplication."
The Lord is Looking for Laborers! I heard the Lord speaking of laborers needed for an incoming harvest. There is no shortage of believers in His Kingdom, but there is a shortage of workers who have the desire and the willingness to plant, nurture, and cultivate godly seed! A.W. Tozer calls committed laborers the "hundredfold Christians."
For instance, in America alone, the number of Christian believers who actively engage with the Bible is somewhere between 17-30%. Close to 60% of American believers classify themselves as "disengaged" or "neutral" with respect to reading or using the Word of God.*
Friends, we must prayerfully and intentionally plant the Word of God for it to be effective! To see a harvest we must both know and sow the Word! Our prayers of agreement and our prophetic declarations are essential this year, especially in light of the increased censorship of sound Bible teaching.
Again I heard the Lord say:
"My people have an abundance of seed, yet they do not always use it, and so experience enormous lack. Surely I tell you, there are some who do not work; who will not labor for what is good! Choose to be a distributor of My Words, for in My mercy and grace I give all men a chance to know and experience My life. The choice is theirs.
"To devote yourselves to prayer and the Word is to receive the blessings of 'seedtime and harvest.' This principle is the foundation for expansion in My Kingdom."
Holy Seeds Are Being ReleasedWe have a biblical promise that when we sow in tears we reap with songs of joy! It is time to go forth weeping, carrying our bags of seed, so that we can come back again rejoicing. (Psalm 126.)
The Lord is giving many of you "holy seeds" to sow into the hearts of family members and friends as you "carry" those whom you love in intercession. Seed reproduces after its kind. These "seeds" may be Spirit-inspired prayers, Bible verses, prophetic words of encouragement, or acts of service.
Your activated words of life and blessing will yield an abundant crop. In addition, the Lord decrees that "from the day you set your heart back on the Lord" He will bless you. (Haggai 2.) Like Daniel, you will find that the day you begin to pray, an answer is on its way!
Words and actions inspired by the Holy Spirit - your "holy seeds" - cause all the nations of the earth to be blessed. It is the sons of the Kingdom whom Jesus calls "good seed" in Matthew 13. As you continue to sow the light of Christ through intercession, declarations, and acts of love, you will see lives saved. (See Genesis 47:19-25.)
It is a lie of the enemy that the Lord does not have fresh seeds for you daily. Do not allow the enemy's "tares" to overrun your harvest! The Lord is saying to you today:
"Those who linger at My doorways will ALWAYS receive! I always fill; I always feed; My arms are never empty! Every time you position yourself here there will be bread and wine; meat and drink. Those who listen will be filled with My righteousness, and this provision of My own flesh and substance will sustain you and many others. What I give you as seed will expand and multiply into meals for the masses."
PRAY with me today:
Lord, I cherish Your Words! Every "seed" you share is full of life!
Fill me today with that which sustains me and nourishes those around me.
I decree that Your Words in my mouth will produce expansion and multiplication. They are designed to reproduce what is holy in the world around me.
Thank you that light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
I believe that Your Word is a doorway into Your Presence.
The entrance of Your Words is bringing light into my spirit, soul, and body as I engage with You.
I rejoice to see a harvest everywhere You send me!
Amen.

SPIRITUAL "LINDBERGHS" ARE ARISING!
“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”
I hear the Lord saying: "I want to open the eyes of the seers! I want to show the "eyes" of My Body the GLORIOUS things that are happening around the world as a result of the working of My Spirit, who is ever-present with you!"
I was awakened this morning by the Holy Spirit, who immediately began speaking to me about SEERS in the Body of Christ. I felt the Lord has a strong desire to AWAKEN the seers, many of whom have been slumbering or asleep. And I felt Him urging the seers to awaken themselves; to open their eyes so that they do not miss what He is about to do!
Aviators Arise!
American Pilot Charles Lindbergh (1902-1974) was the first pilot to fly nonstop from New York to Paris, the longest solo transatlantic flight ever attempted at that time.* He flew in a monoplane called the "Spirit of St. Louis."
After an anxious, sleepless night before his departure, he endured 24 hours awake in the air before reaching Paris. He had no radio, no fuel gauge, and no navigation except for dead reckoning. He fought his way through storms, ice, and fog. He resorted to propping his eyes open with his fingers and flying within ten feet of the ocean waves to remain watchful.
When Lindbergh arrived in France, having no map to locate the airport itself, he initially mistook it for a massive industrial complex because of the GREAT LIGHTS that were all around it; tens of thousands of Parisians had gathered near the airport in a collective attempt to see his historic landing, the headlights of their cars lighting up the night.
And I hear the Lord saying that those who slumber can miss this GREAT ILLUMINATION of the Spirit if they are not careful! It has been a long journey; none of us have "maps" for what is coming in this new era, but the ILLUMINATION God is bringing right now is so bright and so glorious!"
Lindbergh's Annotated North Atlantic MapBe CircumspectAgain I heard the Lord say: "Did not Lindbergh prop his eyes open when he flew in 1927, so as not to miss those historic moments? So I tell you, the seers must take extreme measures to see and not miss what I am doing in this hour!
Those who walk with Me will SOAR; those who listen at My gate will be rewarded with not only SIGHT but WISDOM: wisdom to navigate the times based on their own experiences of soaring with Me. Count every moment as precious, Dear Ones; count every opportunity as a critical moment in your time to see and experience the new things I am doing at the turn of this era!
The eyes of My Body are desperately needed now, for without SIGHT you will lose BALANCE. See and speak what you see, that the rest of My Body may maintain their balance in a time when attacks are being launched from many directions to throw you off-balance. For while the enemy cannot walk the highway of holiness, he would throw you off if he could, and he has dug ditches on either side of your highway to capture you if you fall.
So be careful - be CIRCUMSPECT in how you walk:
"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is." (Ephesians 5:15-17, NKJV.)
The word circumspectly comes from the Latin circum (around) and specere (to look), and means to look cautiously, with watchfulness every way; paying attention so that one guards against surprise or danger. This is the role of biblical watchmen and your gift is essential right now."
WATCHMAN, WHAT DO YOU SEE?
"Those who LISTEN, WAIT, AND WATCH in this hour will be rewarded by being among the first to see My goodness arising in their lands. Many have prophesied doom, failure, and destruction but I tell you, if you look carefully you will see the SON arising to release a wave of GOODNESS and GLORY that is unprecedented. Do not settle! Do not think that you know what is ahead! But realize that no eye has seen, no ear has heard the things I am planning - and they are discerned and perceived by those who have eyes in the Spirit!"
'As it is written, what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived - the things God has prepared for those who love Him - THESE ARE THE THINGS GOD IS REVEALING TO US BY HIS SPIRIT.'
(1 Corinthians 2:9; emphasis mine)
'All things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”'
(Ephesians 5:13-14)
Seers, the Lord is releasing the Spirit of wisdom and revelation over you today. I hear Him decreeing, "EYES, BE OPENED!" For even as the Lord is EXPOSING the wickedness of the world right now, so He is REVEALING the goodness of God to those who have eyes to see!
There is an awakening happening across the Body of Christ, and I see that some of you are being called to stand "watch" in the night. I urge you to take up the Lord's invitation and pray!
Many of you are going to find that you open your eyes in the morning and see an immediate release of the wisdom and revelation of the Spirit of the Lord upon you, just as I did today. This wisdom is not just for you, but also for those whom you serve or influence. This wisdom is necessary for the Body of Christ to MOVE FORWARD AND ADVANCE in this hour, for without VISION - without the open eyes of the seers and prophets - the Body will remain stationary and will falter, becoming prey to the enemy's assaults.
MOVEMENT is essential right now, for there is protection in the movement! Stay awake!
Stay alert in the Spirit and you will see a great advancement of the goodness and glory of God that is beyond imagination!
*1927 was the same year that female aviator Amelia Earhart penned her famous poem, "Courage." Just one year after Lindbergh's record-setting flight, Amelia would become the first woman to successfully cross the Atlantic in a plane. Although only a passenger, she kept a logbook of her experiences and gained celebrity status, earning her the name: "Lady Lindy." In 1932 she crossed the Atlantic alone, nonstop, landing in Northern Ireland.

PROPHETIC TEACHING: IT'S TIME TO DECREE HAMAN'S DEMISE!
"WILL HE EVEN MOLEST THE QUEEN WHILE SHE IS WITH ME IN THE HOUSE?"
~Esther 7:8
Dear Friends,
Those who desire to live a life of prayer in the Presence of the Lord will eventually find that there is someone who seeks to interrupt intimacy and destroy identity. I believe that what I share today will set many people free from a demonic strategy of Satan used to steal peace and stop believers from abiding in their secret places with the Lord.
There is a demonic spirit unleashed against God's people which is not easily discerned or exposed. It is a spirit of deception and darkness that presents itself as light. It works in secrecy, and its goal is to destroy the secret place of prayer by bringing shame to God’s people.
The name of this spirit is “molestation,” and despite its offensive name, its strategy is not always sexual in nature. This spirit seeks to torment the Bride even within the intimate chambers of the King’s house. Esther dealt with it in chapter 7 of the Bible story that bears her name; I and many other intercessors have encountered it, and I want to describe how it works here so that you will not fall prey to it.
IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES
Queen Esther prepared a banquet for King Ahasuerus. A Satanic strategy to destroy the entire Jewish race had just been uncovered, and Esther knew her calling to the King’s palace was timely. With Mordecai’s help, she intended to expose Haman, the king’s trusted advisor, as a deceiver and murderer.
Haman’s ultimate defeat would require not just an exposure of who he was, but also a revelation of Esther’s true identity before the King.
Not unlike our spiritual enemy, this “vile Haman” had access to both the king and the queen. While Esther was still resting and reclining at the banqueting table - even after Haman was exposed as a deceiver - her enemy took advantage of one final opportunity to assault her. The Bible says the horrified king called Haman's advance a "molestation" of his bride.
I believe the Lord is highlighting these verses today because He wants us to see the utter abhorrence He still has for that which molests His Bride in the secret place. He is fighting for the lovers of God who, like Esther, remain in their place of intimacy with Him. His intense desire is to cover the enemy’s face with the same shame the enemy has attempted to put on us, His Bride.
Prayer and fasting will expose the enemy, but only a Royal decree will annihilate him. Believers need to be as disgusted with the deceptive tactics of the enemy in the secret place as we are with sexual abuse, trafficking, or victimization of any kind, decreeing the Word of the Lord and commanding this spirit of molestation to be cut off in the Name of Jesus!
A PERSONAL ENCOUNTER
On the 18th day of a 21-day prayer retreat last month, I had an encounter with the Lord that was extremely powerful. I received much courage, comfort, and revelation in this encounter, and what He shared with me helped to define and clarify my personal mission and ministry.
The very next morning, I had a dream which I believed was also from the Lord. It was consistent with some things God had been speaking to me earlier during the retreat.
As I began recording and interpreting the dream, however, I discovered that fear and anxiety about the future were rising within me. I could no longer think clearly or even pray. Confusion took hold.
I tried to worship but found only limited peace. Because there was some truth to what I was hearing, I did not at first discern the source of the “revelation.” I knew I was encountering what the Lord had spoken to me about earlier: a spirit of molestation.
THE ENEMY DIGS DEEP INTO YOUR PAST IN HOPES OF CHALLENGING YOUR PRESENT IDENTITY AND DESTROYING YOUR FUTURELater that day, I reached out to a trusted friend who prayed with me and discerned immediately that the dream was not of the Lord. While much of what I was hearing and seeing seemed to coincide with language and imagery the Lord had been using to speak to me, the fruit of the dream was evil, not good. We prayed and decreed the attack to be broken in the Name of Jesus. Peace returned.
The enemy regularly attacks beloved sons and daughters of God on the basis of their identity, knowing that if they believe the deception, he will sabotage the sweetness of their intimate encounters with the Lord. The lie is that you are the problem, not he! The lie is that he has a right to be there.
We see a simlar situation in Mark 14 when a woman from Bethany brings an alabaster jar to anoint Jesus's feet with oil. An intimate moment involving a precious sacrifice to the Lord is interrupted by the ungodly ones who trouble her.
King Jesus’s response to her tormentors is: “Leave her alone. why are you bothering her and causing trouble? She has done a good and beautiful thing to Me.” (Amplified; some texts read “molest.”)
I believe the Lord is saying that many of you eagerly desire to come into the secret place with the Lord during this time. Your hearts are pure; your motives are right. Yet when you try to enter in, you find oppression.
Just as Queen Esther desired to feast with her King and found the enemy molesting her even within the King's house, so this spirit, a son of Haman, has ambushed and intimidated you in the very place where you have tried to commune with God. He has tried to silence your voice and keep you from making the decrees that will signify his demise!
The Lord is showing me that it is time to expose Haman and all his sons. It is time to expose the enemy who has come into your secret place of intimacy with his shame. Like Esther, the Bride must break the bonds of secrecy in other to be freed from the burden of shame.
WHERE THE WORD OF A KING IS, THERE IS POWER
I hear the Spirit saying that your place of intimacy and rest in the house of the Lord will now become your place of authority and victory! As you remain close to your King you will hear the verdicts and decrees issued from the Throne against all those who would molest you.
DO NOT RUN IN TERROR BUT REMAIN IN YOUR PLACE OF PRAYER UNTIL YOU HEAR THE DECREE THAT SETS YOU FREE! Just as Goliath’s sword was used to cut off his own head, so Haman’s gallows will be the place where he - not you - is hanged!
Some of the “Dread Champions” the Lord is releasing in this hour look more like “Esthers” than “Avengers!” Worshiping warriors are arising who will celebrate and feast with their King even as they expose Haman and his ten sons. Your place of trust and your secure identity IN HIM is positioning you to HEAR AND DECREE the King’s edicts, and you will receive a share in the inheritance of the wicked as your reward.
DO NOT BE DECEIVED; YOUR INTIMACY WITH THE LORD IS AS MIGHTY A WEAPON IN THE SECRET PLACE AS YOUR SWORDSMANSHIP IS ON THE BATTLEFIELD. The enemy knows this! It is time to close the door of the banqueting hall against these shameful attacks and decree Haman’s demise.
The plans the enemy has created for your destruction will become places where he himself is defeated. Do not let the lies and torment of the enemy lure you away from your place of rest and peace in Jesus!
I see the Lord imparting life and releasing hope back into your quiet times with Him. As you read this, some of you will see the truth of what has been happening in the spirit and be set free. Others will want to sit with the Lord, take communion, and ask Jesus to release the truth concerning your situation. He will restore you as you return to Him there.
PRAY WITH ME:Jesus, I thank you for this worldwide, extended time of intimacy and purification between You and Your Bride. I thank You for the fire that has come to destroy the enemy and all his works even as it purifies those who love You. I believe You are cleansing Your temple, and I ask you to cleanse me right now of every way the enemy has tried to defile or molest me as Your Bride!
I decree today that the house of God, MY HOUSE, will be a House of Prayer. I command every vile spirit of molestation to leave this temple. The sons of Satan must cease and desist all attacks against me. I renounce you and command you to go in the Name of Jesus. You will not disturb my time with the King of Kings!
I remind you of the Word of the Lord. All your curses and lies are impaled on the cross today, and the destruction you have decreed for me is now turned against you in the mighty Name of Jesus. I decree that from this point on, deception has no right of access to my body, soul, or spirit. I close every demonic gate through which you have come in and I demolish every lie that has tried to convince me I am the one with the problem.
Thank you, Father, that Your covenant of peace in the Blood protects me. Thank you for Your TRUTH which demolishes every deception, lie, strategy, and tactic of the enemy. I believe You are imparting LIFE back into my secret place. I will sit peaceably with You, feasting with my Lord and King. Thank you for exposing Haman and all his sons in my life so that I can be forever free to worship You in Spirit and in Truth. Amen!
