LIAR OR LOVER? Exposing the Spirit of Jezebel

I had a dream from the Lord this week which truly alarmed me.

In the dream, I saw that the Church at large, Christ’s Bride, was being systematically seduced by a man who was familiar to her. He was a “believer” and an active participant in countless local and regional ministries.

Because this man was working toward the same goals and supposedly serving the same Lord, the Bride willingly gave herself to his service in the deepest sense of the word. The Bride (represented in the dream by a variety of different women) bore his children and nurtured them as best as she could.

However, once the children were born, the man returned to each one of the women, exposing himself as a liar, not a lover of God. Though operating within the Church, he was anti-Christ.

The liar threatened to kill any children the women had borne if they revealed his true nature. This man was a perverted flatterer seeking promotion at the expense of anyone who would tolerate his advances!

Once the Bride realized who he was, the liar secretly bribed her to remain silent. He told the Bride and her prophets that their own children would die if they ever revealed his identity.

Because he lived and ministered alongside her, the Liar controlled the Bride through fear. Despite her attempts to save them, the “children” (or ministries) the Bride possessed were eventually lost, and she became barren and unfruitful.

SEDUCED TO DEATH
When I awoke from this dream, I knew it was from the Lord. I was truly horrified at the demonic nature of the man in the dream, who represented the spirit of Jezebel.

Christians tend to think of Jezebel spirits as women, yet the Jezebel spirit can operate through a woman or a man. Sadly, throughout the Body of Christ, this lying, seductive spirit poses as an angel of light, and the Bride does not always discern that he is within her.

Jesus gives a stern warning to the Thyatiran church in Revelation 2:20-23 concerning how she must deal with Jezebel: the spirit is not to be tolerated!

Instead, the Bride is to take authority over this false prophet. If she does not, the curse of the Lord (to kill Jezebel’s children with death) will fall upon the Bride.

Friends, the Lord is exposing every evil practice in this hour, and this seductive spirit has a demonic agenda used historically against the Bride and against her prophets in particular.

In the dream, I saw that true prophets of the Lord overturned by this counterfeit. Prophets who began in purity ended up prophesying from mixture. Because they failed to discern and warn the church, the prophets were subject to seduction and death - a curse that should have been reserved for their enemies.
WHO IS JEZEBEL?

Jezebel represents immorality and a spirit of tolerance and compromise, not just a “controlling” or manipulative spirit as is more frequently taught. Jezebel’s philosophy thrives in an atmosphere of acceptance and grace, teaching that there are no consequences to sin.

Someone operating under the influence of this spirit is typically a “lone ranger,” refusing to work with apostles, prophets, or teams, and will resist accountability and repentance, even when confronted with the truth.

Under Jezebel's influence, pure worship of God becomes mixed with idolatrous practices. Those controlled by Jezebel may exalt themselves and flatter those who serve them while silencing those who ignore them. At best, these counterfeits drain the energy of the true ministers of God. At worst, they will rob leaders even of their desire to live (See 1 Kings 16).
APOSTOLIC AWAKENING
In Acts 15:29, the apostles and elders of the early church gathered together to discuss the “Gentile question.” The Lord had not discriminated between Jew and Gentile, pouring out His Spirit upon all who believed by faith. As a result, there were questions about how to proceed; should Gentile believers be required to adhere to Jewish rituals?

The Jerusalem Council decided to impose “no other burden” except three things they determined necessary for the Christian life:

*to abstain from idolatry/things offered to idols
*to abstain from blood and things strangled
*to abstain from sexual immorality

What should stand out to us here is that these commands were intended, at least in part, to combat Jezebel's influence.

HOW DOES THE BRIDE FREE HERSELF FROM JEZEBEL?
We are meant to be alarmed at the Lord’s warnings in Revelation, and those in my dream. The only remedy for agreement with Jezebel is repentance. (See Revelation 2:21; click here for prayers you can use to do this.) Christ’s call to repentance is as strong today as it was in John’s letters to the seven churches. In fact, it is one of the three strategies the enemy is using to attack the Church in these end times. (More on the others to come in future posts.)

To tolerate Jezebel is to invite sickness, tribulation, and trouble into your life and the life of your congregation. The Lord is cleansing His Bride of everything that defiles her during this time of consecration. God will not dwell with Jezebel!

Zeal for holiness in our own “temples” will cause us to take a stand against this liar who tries to seduce us with “good” works bearing bad fruit. Prophets and preachers alike need to beware of any false belief that compromise is acceptable to a holy God! To be free of this seducing spirit, Jesus’ requirement for repentance must be met.

Jesus appears to the Thyatiran church as One whose eyes “are like blazing fire and whose feet are burnished bronze.” A godly church may begin as a burning flame, but tolerance of compromise or immorality will pour cold water over that flame, extinguishing the fire that once burned in their heart for the Lord.

Dear friends, we must not shy away from allowing the fire of the Holy Spirit to burn away impurities in this season, even if it means releasing “children” or works we thought were of the Lord!  TOLERANCE MUST NEVER TAKE THE PLACE OF HOLINESS! The Lord’s Bride will either be quenched by cold, counterfeit philosophies or kindle a holy fire to burn away these impurities.

To receive true apostolic power, believers must determine never to walk with a spirit of compromise. Without purity of heart, the very power believers seek will destroy them. (For an example, see Acts 5:1-11)

The Lord’s promise to His Church still stands: those who hold fast to authentic love and faith, persevering in Spirit-led works of God, will receive power over the nations. Empowerment begins as we take a bold stand against the lies that torment true lovers of God!

HOSEA'S STORY: A PROPHETIC PARABLE FOR TODAY

Dear Friends,

For the past week or so, the Lord has brought me repeatedly into an unusual story: the story of Hosea.

As I've prayed through this “minor” prophet’s book, I have been so captured by the Lord’s heart for His Bride in this hour! Please allow me to share what I believe He is saying today, and join me in praying Hosea’s prayers at the end of this post.

The book of Hosea tells the remarkable story of a prophet who married a prostitute. Think about it: a man who was called to be a pure, holy minister of God risked his reputation by mingling with and even marrying an outcast! Although the Lord condemned Gomer’s sin, he also reached into her vile lifestyle with a purpose: to redeem her. Her story is a poignant one for us today.

Jesus quoted the prophet Hosea twice as He spoke to the  religious leaders of His time, saying: “I desire mercy (compassion), not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.” (Matthew 9:13; 12:7; Hosea 6:6.)

Hosea carried God’s thoughts one step further, prophesying: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as My priests.” (Hosea 4:6.)

The moral of the story? To not know God is to seek our own destruction.

True priestly worship is presenting our entire being as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. Anything less is not fitting for believers or priests! In the end, Jesus will say to those who pay Him only  lip service: “Depart from Me; I never knew you.”

This one truth should compel us to pursue God wholeheartedly! Yet truth alone is not sufficient for most people to draw near to Him; we also need to be known ourselves, to be loved in return. The beauty of the Gospel is that it presents us with a Savior who does love us enough to know us completely and rescue us entirely!

On the other side of Christ's more difficult statements concerning judgment is a heart so full of love and jealousy for His Bride that He cannot tolerate any compromise, any sin within her that would separate her from His love. Truly the Lord is weeping over His Bride today, longing to restore her to Himself!

I believe Hosea’s prophetic words paint a picture of what is happening in the world right now. The church at large has replaced mercy and compassion with religious rules and rituals. Worse, believers and unbelievers alike have prostituted themselves through the idolatry of self, entertainment, status, money, and every kind of enticing seduction, refusing wisdom’s call to purity and holiness. In short, we no longer know or honor God

Picture
Proverbs 3 encourages us to acknowledge God in all our ways. One Hebrew word for acknowledge is “yada,” which means “to know experientially.”

The word “acknowledge” is used nine times in Hosea! Sadly, many of us do not know God this way.

CURRENT EVENTS: JUDGMENT, DISCIPLINE, OR LOVE?
Some prophets describe the COVID-19 plague and its resulting lockdown as the judgment of God. God is certainly not outside of His rights to bring judgment for the sins of the nations.

Others see these events as the discipline of God towards the Christian church. It is certainly true that a Father who does not discipline His children is no father at all!

Yet as the Lord led me to return to the story of Hosea this week, I came to believe that what is happening worldwide is truly a sign of the great love of God!

The same God who urged Hosea to live out a prophetic parable by marrying and loving an unfaithful prostitute is the God who sent His Son Jesus Christ to win back an unfaithful Bride. “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Just as Jesus’ Name means “Savior” and “Deliverer,” so Hosea’s name also means “Deliverer.” Hosea’s story flies in the face of traditional religious views of God. How could a holy God condescend to marry an unfaithful people? Why would God make a covenant with an adulteress?

The answer, of course, is that God is a God of both holiness and love. As we read through the pages of Hosea’s short book, we see that despite God’s anger towards the rebellious, His love remains.

Dear Friends, if you sense that there are areas of compromise in your life, now is the time to confess them and return to Him! God does not delight in bringing judgment, especially on His church. He has provided a way out. (See 1 John 1:9.) But as we near the end times, it is more critical than ever that we abide IN HIM. A great shaking is coming, and there will not be safety anywhere else!

There are several times I can remember in my own life where I, too, was held captive in the enemy’s clutches. My own sins or the sins of previous generations deserved punishment. Each time, however, the Lord was gracious to send deliverers to me: believers who helped set me free. Because others fought for me, I was able to see the love of God in spite of my unloveliness.

God is still the God of the unlovable! I believe God is fighting for us now, using these dire circumstances to draw us back to His heart. In every trial, God's heart will always be to restore us to a place of wholehearted devotion to Him, because He knows us. He knows we can’t be truly happy anywhere else. Why do we fight the One who so faithfully fights for us?

THE BRIDE AND THE GROOM
I will betroth you to Me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness and you will acknowledge the Lord.
~ Hosea 2:19-20

Is there anything more captivating than a Bridegroom in love with His Bride? Any story more poignant than a wedding story? During the time Jesus walked this earth, He made a point of eating with sinners and talking with prostitutes. In this, He wasn’t much different from Hosea.

Our Heavenly Groom could not have made His intentions any clearer: He intended to win back His wandering Bride at all costs, luring her into the wilderness until she had eyes for no one but Him! He Himself would wash her and purify her of her sins if only she would come willingly to Him!

It is the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. In this heart-wrenching time of fear and uncertainty about the future, we would do well to return our gaze to the eyes of our Heavenly Bridegroom, who has chosen to love us in spite of ourselves! It is HIS heart that is broken for us! He desires  to redeem us personally, just as God chose to save Judah from their sins (Hosea 1:7).

Whether we like it or not, God knows what is best for us, and He will protect us even from ourselves. The recent turn of events in our world should be seen as a great mercy on His part, a heartfelt surge of compassion to wake us up from our precarious position in the camp of the enemy.

RETURN TO THE LORD!
I hear God’s voice calling to us through Hosea: “I long to redeem them but they speak about Me falsely. They do not cry out to Me from their hearts.” (Hosea 7:13-14)

Friends, whether you feel close to God or far from Him, please pray with me the prayers of Hosea 6 from your heart. Your prayers in this hour do matter, and the safest place you can be in the coming days is wrapped inside the arms of your Bridegroom.

“COME, LET US RETURN TO THE LORD.”

Lord, we confess our sins to You. We repent for our own idolatry and for the spirit of prostitution that has swept through our nation. Please forgive us for continually turning away from You!

“He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us; He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds.”

Lord, we believe it is still Your will to heal Your people. We believe this worldwide plague and its complications are being allowed as loving discipline towards those You have created for Yourself alone. Thank you for the faithful wounds of a Friend that will restore us to true fellowship.

“After two days He will revive us; on the third day, He will restore us, that we may live in His Presence.”

We believe that as we acknowledge You for who You are, you revive us. You lead us on straight paths. You bring health and healing to our bodies, souls, and spirits.

“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to know Him.”

We repent of apathy, pride, dullness of hearing, and not seeking to understand who You are. By this time we ought to be teachers ourselves! Forgive us for forgetting Your Word and for failing to press in to the Spirit so that we might know You fully. Help us to distinguish between good and evil. Train our senses to discern Your truth!

“As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that cover the earth.”

We celebrate today the hope that You give in the midst of our trials. Thank you, Lord, for the refreshing rains that follow true repentance. Thank you for your delivering love. We look forward to the fulfillment of Habakkuk 2:14: The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of YOU, Lord, as the waters cover the sea! Send Your glory, Lord.

Amen.

Who is wise? Let Him realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them  understand. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
~Hosea 14:9

THE MIDNIGHT HOUR

Dear Friends,

Do you have a friend whom you love so dearly that even their phone call at midnight does not offend you? Whose number you keep "starred" on the list in your phone, so that at any time, day or night, you may be available to them?

Only a few friends and family of mine make that cut! These are the ones whose lives are the most important to me; whose voices I want to hear at any time, in any condition. There is nothing they could say that would make me love them less, and I choose to give my life to them because of that love.

Ironically, the closest friend I have on my list does not own a phone! He is what you might call "old school;" someone who prefers heart to heart conversations over text messages or phone calls. You probably have a few friends like that, too!

This friend doesn't call my cell phone, but I hear from him at midnight more often than I hear from all of my other friends combined. Some of you who are close to me already know who this friend is!

JESUS CALLING
Jesus says in Luke 11:5-8:

"Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him.
...and from inside he answers and says, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.'
I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, YET BECAUSE OF HIS PERSISTENCE HE WILL GET UP AND GIVE HIM AS MUCH AS HE NEEDS."

Until recently, I never read Jesus's parable as anything other than that: it is a call to be merciful to my friends in need - even when it seems inconvenient.

Over the past few weeks, however, the Lord began waking me up repeatedly at midnight to pray. My nighttimes are devoted to Him anyway, but several "midnight hour" awakenings led me to believe there was a deeper message behind His persistence.
THIS IS THE MIDNIGHT HOUR FOR THE CHURCH!
I hear the Lord saying that the midnight hour for the church is upon us. It is time to wake up from our slumber and arise to the sound of His call! Jesus is asking, seeking, and knocking at the doors of our hearts. Many of us consider Him our Friend, but refuse to get up and provide what the Lord needs in this time!

Dear ones, Jesus has other friends who are weary from their journeys and need the bread of life you possess. The three loaves in Luke's story speak of the resurrection life of Christ.  That sustaining life abides in you, but must be shared during this time of harvest!

Many in the church, like the Shulamite in Song of Songs, have said to Jesus, "Don't bother me. I can't give You anything." They've shut the doors and turned off their phones, choosing lives of comfort instead of inconvenience. Because of this, the Lord has had to become more persistent.

As we have sown, so we have reaped. The Lord our Friend has allowed the worldwide crises of this hour to "shut the door" on all that has separated us from HIM, until ALL that we hear is the sound of His voice! In His mercy, He is again asking the church to give Him ALL that He needs, just as He gave ALL of Himself for her.

WHAT DOES HE NEED?
The Lord doesn't need anything from us in order to exist Himself. But a misapplication of this truth has led the church to believe that He needs nothing at all, which is untrue.

In fact, the plan of God is to work in partnership with His disciples to reach the ends of the earth and bring in the end-time harvest. (Matthew 28:18-20.)

God has, in a sense, limited Himself in order to include us in this great ingathering of souls! He needs us to participate, and we are told that the full measure of souls must come in before God will avenge Himself on our enemies. (See Revelation 6:11.)

It is midnight now: a dark hour for the world before the dawning of a new day and a new awakening. Jesus has come to His friends to ask if we will help Him provide for friends we do not yet know: weary travelers who are just now finding their way to His doorstep.

The number of new believers coming in is staggering, and requires that those close to Jesus assist in feeding the masses. Will you open your heart to Him, even if it is an inconvenient time?

I heard, this week, of an evangelist who is using Zoom to reach thousands of new believers in Myanmar. For the price of a Zoom program on his computer (under $100), he has - in a time of worldwide crisis - already seen 40,000 people saved! I urge you to consider "inconveniencing" yourself just a bit in order to reach a harvest that is already here!

The three barley loaves Jesus speaks of in Luke remind us immediately of the coarse loaves of bread common to everyday believers like Gideon. (See Judges 7.) They remind us of the biblical barley harvest, which occurred in the time of firstfruits. Friends, now we are already seeing the "firstfruits" of a great supernatural harvest, and releasing the bread you have in your house will be a sign to the enemy of his impending judgment!

I urge you to be like the little boy who offered his barley loaves and fish to Jesus so that Christ could multiply them and bless the masses.

Be like Gideon, who interpreted the dream of a barley loaf in the enemy's camp as a sign of God's great deliverance!

Be the friend Jesus needs at this midnight hour, who will gladly wake up and provide whatever He asks for  - not because He is persistent, but because you already loved Him enough to answer Him the first time.

A PERSONAL LETTER TO READERS OF HIS INSCRIPTIONS

Picture
Dear Friends,

Nothing God does is an accident!

There are no “coincidences” in the Kingdom of God. You are here on earth at this time for a specific purpose predetermined by the Father. Do you know what that purpose is ?

Most of you know that since January 20th of this year, I have been “captured” by a move of the Spirit more powerful than anything I have ever experienced - even greater than the “Toronto Blessing” and Brownsville Revival days in the 1990s. I’ve been called a “holy roller” and a “drunk” in the Spirit before, for lesser things than what I am seeing today!

Because I am a writer, I have tried to document some of what I see in the Spirit myself, so that others might understand and enter into the fullness of God’s Kingdom. No experience in God is meant for us alone. All godly revelation has a purpose and is meant to draw us - and those around us - into relationship!

However, I am concerned that His Inscriptions readers might open my emails from week to week, read them, and never realize that they are meant as a gift from God for you, too! God reveals His plans to His prophets in advance, but He does not reveal them only for the prophets!

Friends, there is a release of the glory of God coming in the very near future which is beyond anything you or I have ever seen or experienced. The healing revival won’t compare to it. Previous “great awakenings” are only a foretaste of it. Every intercessor or prophetic voice I know can sense it. And I’m concerned that we aren’t ready for it.
A DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD
With every revival, two things happen: the people of God are renewed, empowered, and activated. They rejoice in the Presence of God returning to His temple and restoring righteous foundations. But those who do not know God have an entirely different experience: the fear of God becomes a terror to them, convicting them. A move of God is of necessity a double-edged sword.

Joshua 2 tells the story of Rahab, who was an inhabitant in the Promised Land when Israel crossed over the Jordan. Listen to what she tells the Jewish spies:

“I know that the Lord has given you this land and that the terror of you has fallen on us, and everyone in this land is panicking because of you. For we have heard… what the Lord did… and we lost heart, and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on earth below. Now please swear to me by the Lord that you will show kindness to my family because I showed kindness to you! Give me a sure sign… that you will save us from death.” (Joshua 2:9-13, HCSB; emphasis mine.)

Of all the unbelievers, only Rahab - a prostitute who was probably more aware of her sinful nature than any of the others - had the wisdom and foresight to move towards God rather than away from Him. She approached the Israelite spies and essentially asked them how she and her family could be saved, in the midst of what she knew would be a massive outpouring of grace for Israel but wrath for idolatrous nations.

Friends, we are going to see this scenario played out again on a massive scale in just a short time from now! What you see happening in hospitals now, where workers and supplies are in high demand and the need is overwhelmingly great, is a picture of what will come spiritually when thousands want to be saved in a day. Are you ready for this?

We serve a wise and wonderful God who has the foresight to call His Body back into a place of rest and trust in Him now, just prior to what will be a season of harvest and heavy labor. Many of you may feel like your time with the Lord or in confinement with family is putting a spotlight on sin, unacceptable thoughts, or unfruitful behavior. I assure you: that is EXACTLY what God wants to do right now!

Those who by faith can discern that God is still sovereign and uses ALL things for His glory know that this time of rest is a call to deeper consecration that will produce holiness in His "holy ones" - the saints! I want to exhort you today to embrace this process rather than to run from it, for it will yield enduring and very valuable fruit. Don't miss out on what God is doing simply because it makes you uncomfortable. Life in the Kingdom of God has far less to do with our comfort than our character!

The incoming harvest will bring us great joy but will also place a high demand on our anointings to care for the lost, disciple new believers, and establish new churches or gatherings where believers can grow. When the glory of God comes like this, it is “all hands on deck.” Are you ready for this?
THE PROMISE IS FOR YOU!
I woke up feeling compelled, this morning, to write to every reader with a challenge I believe is from the heart of God. Please, do not ever see what I write for His Inscriptions as belonging only to me! Read Acts 2:38-40. The promises of God are for you, your children, and for ALL whom God calls to Himself! The only exception is the one you make.

I know that each of my readers already has a heart for prayer or the prophetic. As you return to your secret place today, please ask the Lord to show you your part in this unfolding global drama. Every Kingdom story requires a cast, a crew, and stagehands who know their lines, places, and times. Now more than ever, we need to hear clearly from our Divine Director how to step into our roles and successfully carry out this production!

Here are some prayers that I take with me into my personal time with Him. You can use these yourself as a starting point:

“Father, please show me what You are doing right now on the earth and what I can do to partner with You. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it already is in heaven!

“Jesus, please open my mind to understand the times and seasons in which I live. Interpret and explain everything to me concerning YOU and how you move in the Scriptures! Inscribe your laws in my mind and on my heart so that I obey You perfectly. Forgive me for anything that stands in the way of Your glory manifesting in my life.

“Holy Spirit, show me how to pray according to the will of God. Please show me what I need to do right now to get ready for the incoming harvest. What do I have in my house (natural or spiritual) that you can use? Who do you want me to reach today? How will I do that, practically? Thank you for working with me personally to produce the fruits of repentance: righteousness, peace, and joy!”

SIGNS AND WONDERS
Jeremiah 31 describes the love of God for His chosen people and the desire in His heart for all people to return to Him. In 31:21-22, Jeremiah writes: “Set up road markers for yourself; establish signposts! Keep the highway in mind, the way you have traveled. Return, virgin Israel! Return to these cities of yours!”

I believe today the Lord is asking us - His Bride - to set up markers and establish road signs for those who will soon return to His fold. It is important for us to consider our own “highways:” the paths we have traveled to come back to the love of God ourselves. How did you get here? How can you make the way clear for someone else?

We are going to see a massive harvest of souls, including the Jewish nation who has been kept blinded until the fullness of time. (See Romans 11.) Pray that jealousy for what we have in Christ will cause the Jews, like Rahab, to return to God, not run away!

I am praying for every one of you to know your place in this time. God has uniquely arranged all the events and circumstances of your life to prepare you for “such a time as this,” a time unlike any other! This will be the church’s finest hour, a time of much work, unusual miracles, and incredible joy. I can’t wait to hear what He shows you to do!

I love you and invite you to contact me with questions, prayer requests, or just to talk. You are welcome to share this with anyone you know who might need a Biblical perspective on current events.

This is a difficult time for all of us, but I am hearing of great HOPE in the Spirit and know that God’s plan will take precedence over every other plan of man. You can trust Him. He’s a good, good Father and He’s rejoicing to see YOUR day as you live it IN HIM!

Blessings,
Deborah

HEAVEN'S ECHO

"Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
~Hebrews 7:25

Last night as I meditated on Jesus our Intercessor, I entered into a deep place of prayer. I interceded for various people as Holy Spirit led me. As I did so, I suddenly became aware of the Lord’s unmistakable Presence in the room.

I heard Jesus say, "I am covering you with a new mantle of intercession." Even as He said this, there was an acceleration in my prayer language. The Lord released a fresh anointing to pray according to the mind and heart of God. In the Spirit, I saw intercession cover me like a blanket.

As I continued to pray, I encountered Jesus again, this time hearing the sound of His voice. To my amazement, the words I heard coming out of the Lord's mouth were the very words I was speaking and praying from my own. I was hearing an echo in heaven!

Dear friends, the Lord is impressing so deeply in my spirit right now that there is a fresh release of a spirit of intercession on the body of Christ as we enter into this season of deep rest!

Holy Spirit intercedes for us in our weakness with sighs too deep for words, and Christ knows what the mind of the Spirit is. From ancient times, Christ has determined not only that we would agree with Him, but He with us as we seek to establish the Father's plans on earth.

Every word you speak from your mouth is a weapon in the hands of your King. The prayers of the saints are drenched with Holy Spirit's anointing, powerful and effective in heaven and on Earth!

I hear the Lord saying today: "What you decree, I decree! What you bring to Me in prayer, I champion before the Father in heaven! Your prayers have the power to demolish demonic strongholds because I add the sound of My voice to yours and heaven thunders in response. Your voice combined with Mine shatters strongholds and demolishes demonic kingdoms.

"Let me hear the sound of your voice agreeing with Mine! Partner with Me in this great work of prayer so that the joy of harvest may become yours. Whatever you ask in My Name I will do so that the Father may be glorified."

Just us a blanket conforms to the shape of the one it surrounds, so Christ conforms Himself to us, partnering with us in the work of prayer. We need not be afraid that we will pray amiss. Holy Spirit dwells within us for this very purpose, teaching us to pray according to the Father's will.

As surely as our lives are wrapped up in Him, so the Lord is wrapping Himself around the Body of Christ like a garment; a Holy mantle and covering that empowers us to do all that is on His heart!

Decree:

Lord, let Your Kingdom come! May You draw me into a profound place of intimacy and delight as I set aside time to rest from my work and co-labor fully in Yours. Amen!

GOD IS RESTORING FORTUNES TO HIS PEOPLE AND GIFTS TO HIS TEMPLE!

Early this morning, I heard the Lord say three times: "I am restoring the fortunes of those who have invested in Me."

"There are many who have sown great riches into My Kingdom, believing that their simple sowing of seed would result in great returns. They have heard and obeyed My Spirit and a reward is coming for their faithfulness."

"No one who has put their hand to the plow will plow in vain, for all godly seed is good seed! All that is born of the Spirit yields a bumper crop in time. And it IS time for you to see the great yield on your investments. What you have forgotten I will remember and restore. The smallest seeds - like "mustard seeds" of faith - are now peaking in the Spirit; do you perceive this? Those who have eyes to see will begin to reap!

"Ask Me to send in your personal harvest at this time, expecting to receive a return on your previous investments. I am not a God of poverty and lack but a God of abundance and might! Look carefully in this hour and see the blessings being returned to you like rain, a refreshing flow of provision designed to carry you through until your next harvest season. I am the Lord, and I will do it.

"There is also a restoration of the gifts for true service in My temple. Those who have served under the harsh taskmasters of legalism and religion are being set free by My Spirit in this hour. They will find that their God-given gifts are being supernaturally stirred up and reignited. HOPE is returning to the church at large: a hope that what has been overlooked or neglected in the service of the temple in the past will now be both cherished and applied. Ask Me to show you your place in My courts, for many thousands upon thousands are needed in continual service to Me, and I have a place for you."

HOLY SPIRIT IS RELEASING PSALM 91 COMFORT, PEACE, AND PROTECTION!

Picture
I took a long walk today before the snow came; before our governor announced a stay-at-home advisory for the next few weeks. In this time of worldwide sickness and pervasive fear, it was good to get out of the house, to reflect on God’s beautiful creation, and to focus on Him.

As I walked, I listened to a beautiful worship song from Bethel Music called “The Blessing.” (Listen to it here.) This song was released just prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, and never has a song been more timely! The lyrics are scriptures which contain the priestly Aaronic blessing over Israel in Numbers 6:24:

The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord make His face shine upon you
The Lord be gracious unto you
and give you peace.

Worship is key for me in times of trial; it feeds my spirit and strengthens my “inner man.” Just as a dear friend sent this song to me as a blessing, I encourage you to receive this song as God’s blessing over you as well. He is truly FOR YOU!

Most people turn to familiar scriptures in times like these: Psalm 23, Psalm 91, John 14, 2 Corinthians 4:3-10. We pray these scriptures and receive a measure of strength from them every time they are read.

Yet this morning as I prayed, I encountered Psalm 91 in an entirely different way.

THE SHADOW OF HIS WINGS
In the Spirit, I both saw and felt the hand of the Lord come and rest on me. His was a hand of comfort and power: firm yet gentle, whose strength I could not conquer, but whose purpose was to settle me as it rested upon me.

The Lord spoke and reminded me that He is my comforter. (See John 14) Any anxiety I had dissipated in His wonderful Presence, and I felt as if I could breathe deeply again.

After this, I became aware of a powerful manifestation of the Presence of God that began to increase and surround me completely as I sat quietly with Him.

I had the sensation of being thoroughly “wrapped” in the Presence of God, like a blanket surrounding me. This was not the type of glorious outpouring that would fill a room, but a very personal, powerful embrace around my body.

He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. -Psalm 91:4

I saw that glory was streaming down from heaven all around me as if I were caught in a funnel or a light-beam between heaven and earth. This radiant, golden glory brought deep rest to my spirit, soul, and body. It engulfed me in a stillness so thick that I did not move from His peaceful Presence for over an hour, I think.

Dear friends, I have never experienced such deep rest and peace like this before! Such a tremendous rest, even while I was fully awake... It was beyond description.

I then heard the Lord say that this was what it meant to live “under the shadow of His wings,” as in Psalm 91. He was allowing me to physically experience Psalm 91 as I encountered Him.

I felt as though I were hidden in the cleft of the Rock, completely wrapped up within His love and protection, safely inside of His Word, His love, and His power.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust!” ~Psalm 91:1-2

Throughout this time, I was also aware of what seemed like an impenetrable fortress around me. I could see in the Spirit that while I myself was wrapped securely in His Presence, there was another “layer” or impermeable structure of some kind around me in the Spirit, which no enemy could penetrate. He became a shelter.

While I usually pray or write during my quiet times, there was no need or desire to write or speak; I was completely absorbed with Him.

I knew that I was completely hidden IN HIM; no one except the Lord Himself knew where I was at that moment. All the promises of Ephesians came alive in my spirit; IN HIM we are blessed with every spiritual blessing. IN HIM we are seated far above all rule and power and principalities. IN HIM we are safe.

You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. ~Psalm 91:5-6

Even as the weighty glory began to slowly and gradually lift, I was still totally saturated with His Presence, and He continued speaking to me. The sound of His voice is like no other!

Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My Name.  ~Psalm 91:14

Friends, God’s peace and protection are real and tangible in the Spirit. I believe the Lord allowed me to experience the reality of Psalm 91, in part, to share with you.

In times of trial, we need to know how very FOR US God is! It is so easy to doubt His love and question His protection. I know, because I have doubted, too.

Yet to be IN CHRIST, to dwell in the secret place of His Presence, is such a powerful place spiritually. No foe can snatch you from the kind of glory-covering He wraps around His beloved ones! Christ is the fullness of God incarnate, filling everything in every way.

As you walk through times of isolation, fear, sickness, and uncertainty, let the truths of Psalm 91 be your covering. Pray these verses over yourself, believing - as many in our military have - that they are very real places of peace and protection during life’s storms. I can assure you there is no better place to be!

I am praying for each of you and would love to hear from any readers who need specific prayers. Please contact me here .

God bless you!

"Come Inside the Sound of My Voice!"

Picture
The voice of the Lord is thundering from heaven!

As my friends and readers know, the hand of the Lord has been heavy on me since January 20th of this year, when the Spirit of God released a weighty, tangible glory in my home. (Read the story here). This glory has remained and steadily increased as I have pressed in to hear His voice day and night. One of the most interesting things I have heard the Lord say again and again is: “Come inside the sound of my voice.”

What does this mean? The voice of the Lord is a container for His power. Hearing and obeying God's voice empowers us on the earth. From the day of salvation, believers are invited into an intimate, personal relationship with a God who speaks - and speaks often!

When I take time to enter into places of stillness and rest in God, I hear His voice better. It is as if Holy Spirit amplifies the thoughts of God's heart to me in spiritual “surround sound!" With the voice of the Lord leading me and surrounding me, I no longer follow the multitude of other voices that would lead me astray.

I hear the Lord saying today to come apart, to set things back into divine order. Put His Kingdom first. Do this for yourself, for your family, your communities, and your nation. Doing this will activate a Divine “reset” that will sync us again with His overarching plan to reveal the mystery of Christ worldwide.

Here are the words He spoke to me:
Come inside the sound of My voice; come INSIDE the sound. As you enter into the sound of heaven’s reverberations you will experience more and more of My wisdom. Place yourself inside the “waves” of sound, riding them in the Spirit. There is strength, energy, and “dunamis” power released in the sound of My voice; the sound of many waters. Let the roar of My voice so “deafen” you to the roar of the enemy that ONLY freedom is possible. COME INSIDE THE SOUND!

You will hear the sound of liberty ringing: not that of a Liberty Bell or a distant summons to freedom, but something internal and powerful, originating from within you so that its purpose is unmistakable.

The sound of My voice will “ring” and resonate at maximum volume, enlightening you and deafening, even darkening the enemy. It is the sound of war, a war cry over My people, whose hearts have been too dull to hear it. The enemy’s taunts will mean nothing to the ones who are totally surrendered; his voice will simply NOT BE HEARD.

In other words, returning to worship, prayer, meditating on the word, and warring with our prophecies will activate a powerful “shift” in us that releases greater freedom. Cultivating places of brokenness and humility before the Lord right now will result in tremendous advancement for the Kingdom of God later, both personally and corporately.

I wish I could convey to you the hope and excitement I feel in the Spirit as I spend time with the Lord during these quiet days at home!

I know that many of you are impacted negatively by the COVID-19 virus and the fear taking hold around you, but I encourage you to put your trust in the Lord! Everything you need is in Him and inside the sound of His voice: provision, comfort, peace, healing, and purpose!

LIMITATIONS BREED CREATIVITY
Those of you who are creative or innovative know that limitations often breed a magnificent creation! The limitations imposed by national governments to contain sickness and bring personal and economic shutdown are actually tools in the hand of God, instruments by which He is “reading” the condition of our hearts and adjusting our pace so that we do not go beyond the very limits He has established from the beginning.

What seems to be death is actually life. What looks like a limit is a critical opportunity for us to repent, get right, and be restored and ready for the next move of God!

King David wrote that God “set a table before him in the presence of his enemies.” (Psalm 23:5) All of God's watercourses overflow and refresh us, even in difficult times like these. Because of God’s holy Presence abiding in us, believers can pass through the valley of weeping and emerge on sunny hillsides of Grace and Truth.

We need only to come inside the sound of His voice, to draw near enough to Him that even the sound of His whispers rush over and through us. These whispers will become a roar; a flood that cannot be contained!

Dear friends, there is no instability around the throne of God. His rock-solid Kingdom government is founded on righteousness and peace. The sound of His voice is upholding all things. There is no trial or famine He has not already foreseen, and He has prepared us for the time in which we live.

The world is simply mirroring a greater heavenly principle in this hour. A deep sabbath-rest IN HIM is required before we can begin to move in the empowering revival that is coming next. Allow Holy Spirit to hover and brood over you as you remain still, preparing you for the radical and explosive shift that is about to manifest around the globe!

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Move close enough to hear the sound of His whispers comforting and empowering you. Then you'll release that sound yourself, saying to a weary world: “Come, follow me!”

SUPERNATURAL PRAYER

Because prayer is a work done mostly in secret, it is rare for an intercessor to immediately know whether his prayers are effective. It is rarer still for someone to realize they are being prayed for, since humility constrains us from boasting about our praying!

Yet from time to time, we do hear of amazing answers to prayer and have the joy of knowing that there is indeed power released when we pray. In the midst of a very difficult week, God allowed both me and my pastor to see the power of prayer.

My pastor and I had been talking about intercession since he had experienced a moment in the middle of his day where the Presence of God so overwhelmed him that he knew beyond doubt that someone was praying for him. He was telling me how much it blessed him to know that others were sustaining him by their prayers! But this was only a precursor to what God would show us.

Later that same week, my son developed a serious complication from type 1 diabetes that required him to be hospitalized. He had become increasingly sick all day, could not eat, and was vomiting repeatedly. His blood sugar and ketone numbers were skyrocketing, and I could not bring them down, no matter how much insulin I gave. There was no time for me to pray; at 5 pm I was told to rush him to Children’s Hospital in Boston. I hoped he would stay alert until we arrived.

He was so weak he required a wheelchair, so thirsty he was begging for water, and yet he could not stomach even a small amount of water or food. For hours, as the ER team worked, I listened to him beg me for water; the doctors prohibited even ice chips since they would make him worse. My heart broke for him. He was suffering from a mild form of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and until he was stabilized, he would be hydrated only by an IV drip.

At midnight they moved him from the ER to an intermediate ICU area on the 11th floor of the hospital. They call it the “Penthouse” room because it has a window overlooking the city rooftops, along with a window seat where parents can rest.

But there was little rest for me that night. It was 3 am before the staff informed me he was out of the danger zone, and his room was a flurry of activity all night long.

He finally slept, and I laid down on the window seat, exhausted, emotional, and alone. I stared blindly at the city rooftops, slept fitfully, and tried to stay calm. I had called several friends earlier to pray, and I knew it was because of their prayers that I had stayed awake and kept my calm throughout the night.

JESUS DOES HOSPITAL VISITS
At 5 AM, something awakened me. I turned to see what the nurses were doing, but there was no one in the room. I quickly went to my son’s bedside and found him asleep. He was covered in wires: the IV still drip-feeding him insulin, another monitor measuring his pulse and vitals, a wire attached to one tiny finger which glowed red. His stuffed dog, Sparky, cuddled next to him, a faithful friend throughout his ordeal.

I returned to my window seat and looked out at the city of Boston. It was dawn, and the sky was brightening. On any other day, it would have been beautiful. But right then, my body ached and my heart was raw.

Suddenly, I was surrounded by the Presence of God. The atmosphere in the room changed, and I knew without a doubt that Jesus had come in. It was time to wake up, He said, and I knew that despite how I felt, that He would sustain me.

Immediately, the Holy Spirit reminded me of a powerful video I had seen in church the week before, of a loving husband who runs to the hospital at dawn to meet his paralyzed wife on the rooftop. Pulling her up out of her wheelchair, he holds her and together they take a picture of the sunrise. She is too weak even to push the button on the camera, and his hand covers hers as they snap the photo. He saves every picture they take. It is a beautiful picture of Christ, loving us and compensating for us in all our weaknesses.

The memory of that video broke me. In a flash, my eyes were opened, and I realized that I was literally standing on the top floor of a hospital, overlooking rooftops, and I felt as helpless and weak as that wife. I could do nothing to heal my son, nor could I summon enough strength within myself to move forward. Yet Jesus had just run to me and embraced me.

As I watched the sunrise, tears streamed down my face. I was awed by His love, His prophetic preparation for what He already knew would happen to us that week, and His powerful Presence that was sustaining me. I still cannot describe the experience without tears!

My son recovered the next day and we returned home, grateful for his healing and for the many prayers of our friends that were offered on his behalf. But God had one more surprise in store for me.

At church the next day, I was again talking with my pastor. He had heard my story of God’s visit at 5:00 that morning in the hospital. In fact, he had wanted to visit us himself but was prevented from doing so. He told me that at 4:58 that same morning, God woke him up unexpectedly. “Who do You want me to pray for?” he asked. “The Perkins Family,” God answered. And he did.

It was the exact time that Jesus arrived in our hospital room, healing my son and strengthening me.

How rare that we get to see the synchronized work of God in both the intercessor and the recipients of prayer! What a powerful testimony to the truths of scripture! We are not alone; our prayers are effective. Every time we pray, the life generated in the realm of the Spirit touches people in all their frailties and with all their needs.

Right now, ask for the Presence of God to intervene and change the situations you see on earth for the better. The Bible promises that Jesus will respond to our prayers!

His answers are unique, meaningful and specific to the ones we pray for, just like the way He spoke to me in that hospital. We are co-laborers with Christ, His "prayer partners" in the great work of the Gospel. And every once in a while, God lets us see just how effective our prayers can be.

THE RIVER OF GOD IS AT FLOOD STAGE!

Picture
On January 22, 2020 I wrote that the glory of God had entered my home, igniting and electrifying the atmosphere before settling down around me with a holy hush. (Read the story here.)

What began that night as a gentle stream has become a great flood!

For the past 46 days, I have seen a steady increase in the Presence of God in my life, a rising of the River of the Spirit to "flood stage." I am not talking about being "baptized in the Spirit" or coming to know the Lord better. No; we know Him already, we are filled with Him already!

What I am noticing is an increase of the manifest Presence of God. His weighty glory is  rising to fill dry, empty places. This powerful Presence can be felt, seen, and heard in the Spirit. Friends, the River is rising, awakening has begun, and your overflow is coming!
FLOOD STAGE = HARVEST TIME
Wikipedia defines flood stage "...by its impacts to people, as opposed to the natural topography of an area." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flood_stage

All land will flood when abundant rains come, but "flood stage" refers only to pre-existing bodies of water, like rivers, whose banks overflow. This can be a natural and even yearly occurrence.

Why is "flood stage" so important to notice? Because, as Joshua 3:15 states, "The Jordan is at flood stage ALL DURING HARVEST!"

Those who live in the River of God in this season will see an increase in the water levels just like Ezekiel saw in his temple vision. (Ezekiel 47). Your crossover into the Promised Land is connected to Joshua's ancient miracle of a "flood stage" river, parted at harvest time!
RIVER: FRIEND OR FOE?
Those who have experienced a flood know that "flood stage" is not necessarily a good thing. The same beautiful river that courses and refreshes can cause extensive damage at flood stage, reaching surrounding areas to ruin houses, property, and even lives. For this reason, most people prefer a controlled river to a flooded one!

Yet spiritually speaking, if the level of Christ's "living water" in us never rises above its  banks, God's refreshing Presence will never reach others, either. There will be no harvest.

I, for one, want to see the many prophecies about harvest come true! I pray into these regularly and I am believing for another Great Awakening. What I have not experienced since the days of the Torono Blessing and the Brownsville Revival (in the mid-1990's) is the corporate rising of the River of God.

Until now.
  REVIVAL IS HERE!
Two weeks ago, I was part of a team of 12 people from around around the US who ministered at the "222" conference in Rhode Island. Some of you were there and you know it was a powerful conference! The glory of God manifested, and we had a wonderful time in His Presence. The difference? This time, at least for me, the glory didn't leave!

I released this prophetic word to our "222" ministry team at the conference:

"I see the Lord giving gifts, and I believe He would refresh those among you who have labored and are weary from your work. For it sometimes seems that there is no time to breathe or even eat because the needs are so great in this hour. And the Lord wants you to know: those needs will only increase!

"Yet as surely as the needs around you increase, so the grace to meet those needs is building in the Spirit, a great and mighty outpouring of GRACE to strengthen and guide My weary ones, that they may continue to minister before Me. There is not just an acceleration in My spirit, but also an  increase , and a multiplication of grace available to those who will reach out and receive it.

"This increase is like the swelling of a river at flood stage - refreshing streams of water overflowing your banks, and uncontainable by human hands. Do not resist the increase but YIELD to the work I am doing IN YOU, that the increase itself might become the ministry!

"I will wash over you and out into the highways and the byways, and you will no more be able to control this overflowing grace then a man controls a flood! Let My abundant grace wash over you; revel in it as a child revels in the sea and sun, and I will take care of the MANY needs and circumstances you are facing right now," says the Lord.

When one of our team members returned home to Alabama, he received a natural confirmation of this word:  the river in his hometown had risen to flood stage

Friends, throughout the "222" conference, and now for the fourteen days following, I have often been awake for 20 hours straight, either ministering or praying. I have had days where I will lie down to sleep and the Lord will wake me again two hours later, at 2:22 or some such time, downloading revelation so quickly that I cannot capture it all with my pen. My schedule has changed; Many days I do not eat at scheduled times and I am being carried through each moment supernaturally, in the strength of God. THIS IS STILL HAPPENING

I have experienced times like this before. In 1994, in Toronto, when I was trembling under the powerful Presence of God, friends literally carried me out of the church after a meeting, dumped me in the back of their station wagon, and drove me back to my hotel!

I would remain on that hotel bed, shaking and prophesying to no one in particular, until morning. My friends simply returned and carried me back to the next meeting. This is "flood stage," and this "overflow" of the Spirit in our lives is meant to reach others; it is to gather in a great harvest!

RUINED FOR JESUS
No one relishes the ruin that comes from a flood. Yet from God's perspective, it is good to ruin what is not of Him! One of the hallmarks of revival - apart from a grateful and satisfied church - is a deeply troubled society around the church.

What we long for, others dread. Just as the fear of God fell on all the nations around Israel as they entered the Promised Land, so an awareness of sin, unrighteousness, and impending judgment will fall on those who do not know the Lord during this time. We must be ready!

Those who are prepared will know how to divert destructive streams from this river and use it to their advantage, rescuing the lost from death and restoring the ruins of broken hearts and lives. The ones who know how to do this are those who have been "ruined" for Jesus themselves!

When God invades our hearts with His love, there is a simultaneous uprooting of all that would stand in His way. The waters of the Spirit wash away fear, filth, and unrighteousness. Only when we carry the holy ark of His Presence inside of our hearts can we stand in that "flood stage" river and continue on our journey into our Promises!

Dear friends, I am utterly convinced that now is the time to get right with God. Stop putting aside the things He has told you to do in preparation for this incredible - and imminent  - move of God! Let's be a Bride who carries His heart of compassion for the lost, those to whom the River might mean destruction. Let's be those who not only stand in the River without fear, but advance into our territories to settle the land!

Just the other day, I asked a fellow "River-Dweller" about my experiences. "How in the world do I shut off this heavenly flow?" I asked. "I feel as though I am in the very grip of Almighty God, held tightly in this dimension of the Spirit, and unable to come back down!" So uncontrollable, so intensely wonderful, yet requiring everything in me!

My friend did not answer me at the time. His silence spoke volumes. I found my answer later, in Revelation 3:12. Those who overcome are made pillars in the temple of My God. They never have to leave
