An Unofficial Guide to Shopping at Aldi, 2nd Edition, is Now Available
A couple of years back, not long after my wife and I piloted the website Aldi Reviewer, I got the idea to write a nonfiction eBook collating our experiences with the German grocer. It went well.
Aldi, like most companies, has continued to evolve, so we realized that it was probably time to update the book. We’ve also learned quite a bit ourselves during that time.
That update is available today.

What Star Wars Could Learn From the Marvel Comics Cinematic Universe
Credit: Marvel
WARNING: Spoilers ahead for the MCU (including Avengers: Endgame) as well as Star Wars (including The Last Jedi). Be warned.
Avengers: Endgame released in the United States on April 26, 2019 … and has systematically shattered sales records ever since. Dominating metroplexes worldwide, many theaters ran shows every 30 minutes for 24 hours straight during the film’s opening weekend. Despite fears that the movie’s 3-hour runtime would hurt sales, just the opposite has happened: no...

State of the Writing: April 2019
Hi, everyone!
Welcome to spring.
As you know, the Chronicles of Sarco trilogy is complete, with three novels and five short stories out. I’m not totally against the idea of continuing the series, although at present I’m not working on any sequels. (Just dreaming a little.) That said, I am starting work on a little project relevant to the Sarcoverse that I may have more to share on down the road. For now, though, that’s farther in the queue.
In the more immediate term, I have some fun news to...

A Free Short Story: Ajax Torpedo Omega
In January of 2018, I penned a pint-sized story for Havok, a speculative fiction flash fiction magazine. The theme of the issue was deep space, so as a space opera sci-fi author I couldn’t resist trying to make a tiny slice of space opera. The magazine accepted my story, and as an added bonus I even got to be the leadoff story for the issue.
Under the terms of my contract, Havok had exclusive publishing rights for six months after publication. We’re well beyond that, so I think the time may b...

What’s Next?

What a difference four years makes.
In January 2015, my writing portfolio consisted, by and large, of posts written for a few nonfiction websites. I’d been writing for the Nintendo fansite Nintendojo off and on for years, and I’d also chipped in a few posts for the mom blog Mumbling Mommy.
I had precisely zero websites of my own and no dedicated author presence anywhere on the Internet.
Starting in 2015, things began to change. I was finishing up a rewrite of a long-dormant novel, and, with...

Thanking Launch Team Chaos
Writing may seem like a solitary exercise, but in reality it’s the work of numerous people working behind the scenes to make a single book happen. Through Chaos is officially out, so I wanted to take some time to thank the launch team who helped me get it out the door. All of you are greatly appreciated.

Through Chaos is Now Available
Two and a half years after it began, a trilogy comes to a close.
Through Chaos, the third installment in the Chronicles of Sarco series, is available today, both in paperback and eBook form. In addition to picking up the book online, you can also read some of the backstory behind the novel, and even take a look at a pronunciation guide. And, of course, you can also sign up for my mailing list to get a few short stories that interconnect with the novel series.
