Adventures in Writing: Lifeblood of Wordsmiths

Writers take from the reality around them and turn it into words. Sometimes the words are real truthy things and other times they are fantastically fictional. Either way, sometimes it can be hard to get those words flowing. That’s when you can find something to inspire you. A word, an image, a phrase, a quote. Today I’m talking about the Lifeblood of Wordsmiths – Prompts. [image error]

Adventures in Writing: Lifeblood of Wordsmiths

When I started way back when I was a wee writer lass, (okay, now read that...

Adventures in Writing: Why I Write

There are so many ways I can answer the question “Why I Write” so I thought I’d share a few. [image error]

Adventures in Writing – Why I Write

Because if I didn’t my mind would explode.

I saw on Twitter the hashtag “Why I Write” trending, so here you go.

There were a few years that the only thing I wrote were a few blog posts now and then. I wasn’t working. Finding a job was difficult. People were difficult. Yet, I didn’t write. I can’t give you a reason as to why I wasn’t writing. But now that I think on...

A Penny for your Thoughts: Truth and Shame

Truth and Shame. Some people believe they are speaking the truth, while others are made to feel shame. [image error]

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. – Eleanor Roosevelt

The keyword in that quote to me is ‘consent’. This isn’t another post on consent, but it is a post on how one person’s truth can make another person feel shame. Here I plan to share things said to me and things to others that I have witnessed or have asked to share (kept anonymously throughout of course) about things...

Guest: Wednesday Noir: An Introverts Guide to Navigating the Negative on Twitter

Please welcome the amazing Wednesday Noir with some excellent advice regarding negativity on social media.

[image error]It’s no secret if you follow me on Twitter that I’m an agoraphobe. I’m also extremely introverted. The only socializing I do is on Twitter. Is it healthy by most people’s standards? No. But I’m a happy hermit, and that will most likely never change.

But being an introverted hermit comes with a unique set of challenges when being active on social media. Especially on an anonymous platfor...

Masturbation Monday: Secret Domme

You can thank GeekNGrind for his amazing photo that broke my hiatus for freebies this week. I hope you enjoy a little Secret Female Domination  in your life.

Masturbation Monday BadgeThe phone thumps onto the mattress as I shove a pillow over my face to catch whatever moans I can’t contain. I think it’s over, but as I catch my breath I see the video still playing. I hear the sounds of stroking and perhaps a little groan from the person not shown on screen. My toy, happily buzzing away inside me, gets me right back in...

A Penny for your Thoughts: Proximity Alert

Those of us that write, live, or both regarding the BDSM Lifestyle tend to focus on one major item above all others (or I hope they do…). A specific word that conveys many feelings and comes with the heaviest of weight. Consent. Without consent, it’s abuse. But what about outside the kinky bedroom activities?

[image error][image error]Today, I happened upon a tweet that someone retweeted with a comment. When I saw it, I wanted to flip a table and instead retweeted it with my own comment. Ever see that movie The Islan...

Adventures in Writing: Name That Character

What’s in a character name anyway? To some people, everything. To others, it’s just something to call the character and there’s no meaning whatsoever.

[image error]One of the most controversial things I’ve ever researched happens to be about naming your characters. The name has to mean something! If your character is an evil villain you’ve got to name them something to strike fear into the heart of the reader! If you’re writing romance, you want the Love Interest‘s name to make the reader tingle with ant...

A Penny for your Thoughts: Or Perhaps a Coffee

I wanted to give a little insight about that pink button over (or down) there saying ‘buy me a coffee’. It seems that a lot of people click on it, check things out, then skedaddle elsewhere.

[image error]The truth is… I’m not a starving artist. I don’t have a family to feed (though I do enjoy taking my daughter and her fiancé out to dinner occasionally) and I’m not in need of any major medical care that costs my soul (yet… I don’t want to jinx it, let me go sacrifice something to the divinity to keep me...

Adventures in Writing: Progress Journal

Awhile back I tweeted out that I was going to #5SecondRule myself a novella and started writing a super hot story about a sexy lady and her man. Since then, I’ve written 6,765 words in the same story. [image error]

It has been a few weeks since I started and I honestly thought I would be further along than I am. However, I’m also proud of how far I’ve gotten because I’m still excited about the story. Which is huge. My goal isn’t technically a fixed word count of 25,000 words even though I keep saying how...

Featured from Elsewhere: Share Our Shit Saturday

[image error] There’s a lot going on in case you haven’t noticed, so let me bring a few things to your attention.

First, I’m attempting to use the new Gutenberg editor to create this post. I’m not entirely sure how much I like it at the moment. More on that later! Today is Share Our Shit (or Stuff) Saturday (Social Media Hashtag: #SOSS) and I’ve decided to chime in for a handful of reasons.

Smutathon – Smut for Choice

I’d like to start off with #Smutathon2018. Several erotica authors and sex bloggers are...
