The Gold Collection by
David Duane Kummer
[image error]

Around every corner, another mystery…

In every alley, the unknown lurks…

You were scared of the dark for good reason.

The Gold Collection Box Set is a compilation of all the books I published during high school, including My Abigail, She, She Watches, and Until We Burn. It also includes an exclusive collection of short stories titled As Trees Turned Away. You can buy each of the four novels individually on Amazon, or purchase them all for a lower cumulative price here.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TVQJ9SY
My Abigail–

Abigail had a secret

She was different… but I loved her.

But after it ended, there were no words to describe her. No way to make sense of it all.

Something so sweet, so loving, so gentle… in the end, it was all terrible.

In this gripping, psychological thriller, Caleb meets the girl of his dreams. Abigail is pretty, funny, and she cares about him like nobody ever has. But underneath her appearance is a monster that nobody can control… and nobody knows about.

When he is confronted with the truth, Caleb must make a terrible decision. Will he love the person who’s hurt him? Or will the secret tear them apart?

What even Abigail doesn’t understand is that she’s dangerous. More dangerous than either of them realize. But is it too late to turn back?

Until We Burn–

Cyrus Street never forgot about his home. It was always in the back of his mind, with the memories, the nightmares. Alluring, always pulling him back. There were so many questions unanswered. Something he left behind.

When he finally returns, he’s drawn back into a world even worse than he remembers. Werifesteria, with its dark secrets and murky past, never changed. It remains a cesspool, a danger. There’s something about the town unnerving, yet enticing. It isn’t normal. It isn’t sane.

As soon as Cyrus steps back into it, the murders begin. He’s the only one can catch this madman, if he can only control his mind.

Everybody remembers the fire. Everybody remembers him. But there’s a darkness he’s buried inside his own head. And unless he can remember, the entire town will burn.

She–

She Watches Always.

Small river towns have always had urban legends and teenage boys who love their sister. Even every city has these. But this legend is different, and Michael is unique.

Michael’s only a typical teenager in this small rivertown. Along with his three friends, he grows up and survives school; he laughs at jokes and gets to know the town around him. But everything changes one night when his sister is taken. Everything is different for him and his friends, as their friendly town begins to feel and look more sinister.

With the help of a detective, they uncover secrets and plots that point towards the only hope for saving his sister.

Together, they will search to the ends of the earth, when in reality the answer is close nearby. In their hometown.

Together, they will face the enemy that threatens their town, their lives, and the future of everyone they love. It is the adversary with many faces and none; the foe that cannot be killed and was never born.

They go together.

She waits alone.

She Watches–

She still watches.

The nights grew longer and the streets became empty. There was nothing left in the city. What she had taken, none could restore. The terrible woman of the dark, who lived in the forest, who lived to destroy. She is a mystery; She was always mystery. And now She is back.

When Daniel Smith is lured home 20 years later, he has a family of his own and kids to care for. It’s been a long time away from Hardy, from the town where so much happened. There are demons waiting beneath every sidewalk and home -demons only he knows about.

Friends. Nightmares. Fears. Death. It all rises up from the murky past of the city.

Some things are meant to never come back.

My name is David Kummer, and I live in Madison, Indiana, a small town on the Ohio River. There’s lots of history and creepy places, which have influenced my writings. In my book SHE, most of the places and buildings are based off similar settings here in my home town, although I’ve changed them so you won’t know which ones exactly (if you don’t ask).

I would love to get to know you better, so email me or check out my blog at davidkummer.com. I’m always glad to give out review copies ( most of the time), but love it even more if you pick up a copy to buy. They’re all cheap. Reviews are super appreciated.

You may have read some great authors before and some fascinating books, but you’ve never had an experience like this. Try something and let me convince you.

Something different, I was interviewed by Fiona Mcvie. Check it out.

authorsinterviews

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hi Fiona, thanks for having me. My name is Theresa Jacobs and I am 47. I only began writing in my 40’s so I am not afraid to share this fact. I like to tell everyone my age and encourage others that no matter your age, you can achieve your dreams.

Fiona: Where are you from?

Currently I reside in Ontario Canada.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I worked for the past 15 years in retail and have only this year moved over to the administration side of the business. I still do commercial sales as well, so I am always busy and on the go.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I have…

July Spotlight – Audiobooks

Red Cape Publishing

This month we have an eclectic mix of audiobooks, covering short stories, Christian fiction, sci-fi, and horror. So take a look through the list, and find that perfect audiobook to listen to on a summer’s evening.

Come Home Children by Leana Marie Price

comehomechildren (Large)Joining God’s Sanctuary was supposed to fulfil Donna Ferguson’s desire to follow and serve Jesus Christ. Instead, she finds herself in a world of fear and torment filling each day from the moment she moves to Darthmore. As the leaders terrorize, isolate, ostracize, and finally separate her from her children, she sees a parallel between her plea to be reunited with them and God calling “come home children” to those He loves. New video format Doodly

Here’s a fun new format for us writers – a video making program called Doodly.

I decided to give it a try to play with idea’s for book promo’s and to entice kids to read more.  I took a book idea I had, which I have not yet found and artist for, and turned it into a little read along video.

Even if kids books aren’t your cup of tea, check it out and see if this program can fit into something you’d like to create.

This is my first project, so I’m still learning the ropes. I am hoping to produce some fun book commercials and other kids books in the near future.

Until next time, happy writing!

Facebook Ads – are they worth it?

Though I’ve been writing for nearing four years now, when it comes to marketing I am still a newb!  I know I must do it, it’s the only way to reach the masses. However I find it boring and costly. So you can take my following proof at face value – this is my take on just winging it.
The most I can glean from the experience myself is that Facebook LIES. I’ve told them as much and they’ve not yet responded.
I posted an ad to drive people to my WordPress Blog. This is Facebook’s Analytics for 7 days – $20.00 max spending. I thought, hey that’s not too shabby, 20$ is worth that many eyes. Perhaps I’ve even sold a book or two from the clicks to a sale on my blog.

NOPE.
(And one comment that I can’t find anywhere)

The WordPress Analytics paint a completely different picture.

101 total views and only 53 from Facebook…..hmmm….who’s lying here?

So I guess, unless you’re a marketing whiz, or already have a name for yourself, be-wary of who to decide to pay for promotions.
Has anyone else done testing with similar, or GOOD results?

Imagine that?

People are always asking where writers get their ideas from. I’ve written about this before, as have many other writers. But here is a twist for you; it’s also the reason my grammar is so horrendously bad.

Okay maybe not the only reason-I have a less than stellar education-put that aside for another day.  Today I want to try and explain my mind to you.

This should be interesting.

Or not…

When I am writing, whether it’s a blog such as this or as simple as my grocery list, I don’t see words before me, I see images. The pictures or visions in my mind never shut off. Even when I’m reading, which is how I can miss so many errors… I have to concentrate hard to see them.

An easy example. I wrote a grocery list as:

Zety Doritos

mixed preztezls

tomamtoses

And why would I write like that? Well my note pad doesn’t have auto-correct which I rely on heavily. And as I was writing I was seeing the burnt orange large bag of Zesty Doritos and the exact shelf they are in in the store.  Same with the mixed Pretzels, I saw the bag, which I now recall are named, Munchies, and again where they are located. For the tomatoes, I saw the big mound of almost ripe, juicy, red, tasty veggies and a few meals that required them.

So if you catch a few missed errors (I do pay for professional editing by the way, no one is perfect) in my novels, please know it’s not that I don’t care. It’s that my imagination has the better of me, and I’m gad for it! My insane imagination creates the plots, characters, and everything that befalls them.

If only I could draw!

And what I was my mind seeing as I wrote this? Why I recalled writing the list, where I was standing, what I was wearing, who I was talking to, and laughing my ass off when I actually looked at my spelling.

That’s my story and I’m stick to it – what’s yours?
