Where to find free marketing
Hi everyone, it’s been awhile since I’ve written a blog. I’ve been mainly focused on my books and scripts and juggling projects. Today however I spent the entire day in marketing. Which brought up the thought that I need to share these tidbits with all of you.
I aim to find as much free marketing as I can, keeping my budget to editing and covers. Here are a few I’ve found. If you know of more, please share in the comments for everyone else too. I’ll post all links at the end.
The new one today (which I did share in a few groups) is an android app Booksniffer. This claims to allow people to follow you and it does allow you to create new free ads. I made this one in three clicks.

A web based classified called Locanto. This is simple to use and even though you need to fill out the form for every location you want to post, the form auto fills most – I use notepad to keep the description – so it’s fairly quick. I also post to Provinces and States, not cities. You can literally have ads worldwide free if you have the time. PS the listing may say 32 days but they run forever without deleting.

And don’t forget Google My Business, both an app and a website. These are located on the google main page, top right corner at the 9-dots, open them (if you aren’t familiar) and scroll down to my business. On the phone, head into the app store and search googlemybuisness and get it. You don’t need to pay to use it. I don’t, and I get almost 7000 hits a month – sometimes more, depending on my posts.

And this is all I did today. There are others, but that’s it for now. Again if you know any good free places, give a share!

Rebecca Bryn
Rebecca Bryn lives near Britain’s smallest city, St Davids, in the far west of Wales with her rescue dog, rescue husband and twenty very sheepish sheep. Surrounded by stunning coastal and moorland scenery, she also loves to paint. She inherited her love of stories from her grandfather, who told stories with his hands: stories with colourful characters and unexpected endings. Her fascination with what makes people who they are, and the belief that life is many shades of grey, informs her writing. A Native American Indian proverb reads, ‘Don’t judge a man until you have walked two moons in his moccasins.’ Rebecca has based her life on this tenet: it is certainly core to her writing. ‘We may not condone what a person does, but sometimes, we can understand and maybe come to forgive.’ Her stories are raw, honest, and thought-provoking. In 2019, she won the IAN Fiction Book of…

Vivid Imagination
It was reasonable to assume Melina Jackson was her name given that was the only female name on the list of doorbells.
The flat-capped, raincoat wearing man liked to stalk his victims first. He deliberately cultivated an unassuming, almost invisible appearance for the initial stages of his work for obvious reasons, ensuring that any possible description of him would be as nondescript as that of the nearest lamppost. The knife-wielding sociopath was most meticulous in his planning, proud indeed of his attention to detail. But then, of course, he had to be otherwise his career would most likely have been a short one …

The mere presence of Bartholomew Brown was enough to make the skin crawl – if he wanted. Mostly though, he was the most affable and charming man you could ever hope to meet.
He preferred to be called Mr Brown rather than Bartholomew…

[Book Review] Elements of Horror: Earth- Edited by P.J. Blakey-Novis

Elements of Horror: Earth is the first in a four book series of anthologies by Red Cape Publishing. Each of the books has a central theme of one of the four elements; Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The stories within each anthology all share a common connection to that element, however loose. The stories found in Earth have amazing range. Here we have stories ranging from lightly creepy, to thought inducing, to downright terrifying. I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of the collection. Out of 11 stories, I really loved 7 of them. The other four were either just not for me, or I simply enjoyed them. There were no stories that I found to be severely lacking. One thing particularly worth noting is how well edited and put together this anthology is. A significant issue that I run across often with smaller anthologies is a lack of editing and proofreading…

The importance of not blogging
I was a steady once a week blogger, for three years. That is a lot of blogs. I wrote about writing, trial and error, and how to promote. Or I’d share my newest book, free stories, author spotlights, and interviews. Plus tons of other fun, writerly things during that time.
But then I got serious about putting that time to better use and began concentrating more on short stories. Stories that would be worthy of submitting to anthologies. While I still have novels in the works, this is what I’ve done in Sept/Oct of 2019 – with still more to come!
The Elements of Horror.
I missed the deadline for fire – but you need the entire collection anyway – don’t you think?
