You may notice that yesterday’s post (with comments) and a bunch of other posts have vanished. I’m doing that on purpose. I’m cleaning out the blog.

I’ll tell you all the reason on Monday.

Hunk Fail

Happy Friday! I can’t believe I leave for the RWA conference next week. I’m not going to be at my best, but hopefully, few people will notice.  I’m taking my laptop and hoping that since I’ll probably be forced to rest, I can work on CAGE MAGIC. That poor book keeps getting shoved aside for other projects.  Linc, Ram and Eli have lost all patience with me.

Anyway…lets move onto this. Now I love the pool as much as anyone, but this just looks wrong to me:

Wing Slayer Worthy

Still recovering, but making progress! Yesterday I sort of worked for a while. Mostly answering some email (not all) and outlining my portion of a talk on dialogue.

Then BLB went with me grocery shopping, helping since I have trouble twisting and various things.  We came home and BLB iced down his leg and I headed for the bottle of Tylenol and the recliner.  Guess the two of us won’t be conquering the world this week!

Weekend Roundup

Hi All,

I’m still sick, so I’m not much fun. Since this is the Internet, I’m going to keep it vague.  I’ve got a virus that’s kicking my butt, however I will recover and be fine. It’s just going to take time and patience.

My doctor insisted I take “Sick Leave.” Fortunately, I turned in my book and am now taking it easy.  I plan to resume working a few hours a day Tuesday or Wednesday, but we’ll see how it goes. I’m not on the Internet much either.

However, I would absolutely love to hear about how YOUR weekend went. Truly, I want to know. Share, please!

Wing Slayer Worthy

I saw my eye doctor again yesterday, and she was very pleased with the improvement in my eyes.  I’m happy too! I have a little ways to go yet, but it’s much better.

Happy Monday!

So the heat has finally hit us in Southern California.  I managed to get myself slightly burned on Saturday hanging out at the pool. Which meant I had to stay inside on Sunday while Wizard was out there swimming. So. Not. Fair!

It was a really good weekend. While I was waiting for my beta reader to read the contemporary I worked on CAGE MAGIC. Damn, I love that book! I’m have more than a 100 pages (rough) and need much more,  but hopefully I’m going to be able to carve some time out to work on it around my contracted books.

Yesterday my awesome beta reader let me know she finished the book and thinks it’s working.  She actually said really nice things, and found a few spots for me to work on. I am so thrilled! I wrote Adam and Megan’s story fast, but I wrote the book *I* wanted to write, and that seems to work.  While the romance is front and center, I get to have other things going on too, some mystery, intrigue, betrayals and secrets. How could I not love that? I’ll finish that this week and send it to my lovely editor.

I’m trying to get back onto my workout schedule as well. I took a couple weeks off for BLB’s surgery, and to hit my deadlines, but now I must recommit.

Wizard and I had a great weekend together.  BLB was spending the weekend at his house, so we enjoyed the time.

But Wizard misses Bailey! He totally does. So while cooking breakfast together one morning, I was dancing around the kitchen  singing, “You liikkkeeee Bailey! Wizard likes Bailey!” until Wizard threatened to videotape me singing.

I stopped.  I can’t sing. I can’t dance. And I really don’t want a record of me trying!

But I might have hummed it a bit more.

Hunk Fail Times Two!

Hey all

I can’t believe it’s the weekend! First a holiday in the middle of the week. Then yesterday BLB went home for a few days, and I was thinking I would have the house to myself to work nonstop. Not two hours later, one of my other sons came home visit. LOLOL! I love them all so I can’t really complain. And somehow, I managed to finish revising the manuscript. I sent it off to a friend to read before I do the final polish and send it in.

Now onto Hunk Fail. All I can do is apologize in advance for this:

Wing Slayer Worthy and Happy 4th!

Hey! Okay so I finally saw the eye doc yesterday.  My eyes are inflamed and a mess.  Long story short, I’m going to have to take my contacts out more and deal with wearing my too-weak glasses as much as possible to clear this up. Then she’ll retest me to hopefully order new glasses and contacts. She gave me temporary contacts for now.

Problem: I really can’t see out of my glasses. I can watch TV, but not read or work on the computer.

Umm, hello, July 15th deadline? Anyone know how fast that’s coming? Yeah…it’s fun to be me. But fortunately, I’m pretty sure I can manage this. I just wont be reading books or hanging out online. As long as I limit the time I can actually see with my contacts, I’ll get the book revised and polished.

Okay enough about me! Tomorrow is a holiday in the states, so Happy Fourth of July to all of you!

Right now, working with former Marine characters in my current book, I’m feeling very patriotic, LOL!

Weekend Roundup

One evening last week, me, Wizard BLB and Bailey were sitting around watching TV. Bailey jumped on Wizard’s lap.  Wizard was petting him when he looked up and said, “This is the longest Bailey has ever been here. When is he going home?”

“He is home. He lives here now,” I said.

Wizard frowned, looked at BLB then me, and said, “You’re lying.”

“You sure? I mean look around,”  I waved my hand at the family room filled with dog toys and assorted stuff. It looked like a pet store threw up in there.

Wizard stared at me.  “He can’t live here, witch.”

I shrugged. “Looks like he is. But feel free to take him back to the boys’ house. He can visit them for awhile.”

Wizard heaved a big sigh. “Why do you mess with me?”

Because it’s so much fun! However, yesterday, BLB and I took Bailey home to his other house.  Now I’m home writing this blog and missing Bailey! And I know once Wizard gets home, he’s going to grumble about missing “the stupid dog” too.

Otherwise, my weekend has been fine. I’m starting the revising process on my manuscript. I’ve learned that I apparently like torturing heroes whether they are in the paranormal or contemporary genre. That may not be part of my personality I want to brag about, LOL!

Today (Monday) I’m taking BLB to get his stitches out. I suspect he’ll be cleared to drive. But now reality is setting in, and it’s coming time for some hard decisions to help BLB secure a future.  However, at least he has a future so there is a lot to be grateful for.
