Happy Friday; Witch and Wizard
Wizard and I were watching a TV show that mentioned flying monkeys.
Me, ” Can we have a flying monkey?”
Wizard looked over at me from the recliner he was bogarting. “That’d be cool.”
Me, “And name him Bo Bo?”
Wizard, “Works for me.”
Damn, Wizard is easy tonight! Even if he is taking the recliner I like to read in.
And then, with a totally straight face he asks, “Where do you go to get a flying monkey?”
See, I was expecting him to ask why I wanted to name the flying monkey BoBo. And I was ready to launch into the story of that. But no. Instead he led me right in to his Reality Check Trap. And ruined all my fun. So I looked at him sitting all smug in my recliner and replied, “Did I mention I ate all the Klondike Bars?”
“You’re lying. You never eat those. You are making that up.”
“Nope. I have PMS and I ate them. All. Every one of them.” I stared him down.
He finally snapped down the foot rest, stomped into the kitchen and opened the freezer.
I jumped up and got in the recliner and called out, “Amateur. ”
“Ha,” he answered. “That’s Amateur-Eating-A-Klondike-Bar to you, Witch.”
Happy Friday, Witches! Hope you all have a great weekend! Oh and I’ve given up on the flying monkeys, but I found this picture at I Can Has A Hotdog:
I want him and I’ll name him Yoda! Can’t wait to tell Wizard…bwhahahaha!!!

Wing Slayer Worthy
I’m so excited to be taking a super awesome online class called DEEP STORY STRUCTURE with Carol Hughs, who has an amazing background. You can see more about the class and Carol here if you click on this Enrollment Information at http://www.occrwa.org/onlineclassSept12.html
Carol has read my books and tells me that I actually know what I’m doing, but most days, it truly doesn’t feel like it. I think this class will help me hone my process into something more manageable. I rarely try to describe my process because…it’s indescribable. I basically work like a dog until I find the story and every freaking tiny little nuance of the characters and pray like mad that I can bring it all together and make it work. And that involves butt in the chair, writing rewriting and more rewriting. What I lack in talent, I make up for with pure stubbornness. That’s just the plain truth.
Anyway, I’m taking this class while working on two projects. I never work on two stories at once, and I know at some point, project number two must take a backseat to CAGE. But I have stuff in my head that is clawing to get out, so I’m kind of stuck trying to balance this while taking a HUGE class.
Better than being bored, right? Mwhwahahaha!!!!
In the meantime, I’ve not had great luck finding Wing Slayer Hunter candidates (that I can buy rights to use in my price range). So today, I’m going for pure, wet, beefcake. You may have seen him before, but I don’t think you’ll mind the repeat!
So what do you think? Wing Slayer Worthy?

Weekend Roundup
Awesome weekend! Friday I met Biker Witch at Barnes and Nobles for coffee. As she began talking fast and jumping subjects, I began to wonder if I was having some kind of stroke because I couldn’t following her train of thought. Then I realized the problem and began to laugh. Hard. So hard I was sinking in my seat, head thrown back and snorting. Cause I’m classy that way.
Someone forgot to order DECAF coffee and it wasn’t me. I mainline caffeine. Biker Witch, however does not. She was wired on caffeine. Like…WIRED. Too funny! You had to be there. Then we had to go our separate ways to run errands. I got a text later from Biker Witch that she went to six different stores and got a lot done.
I started laughing all over again. I don’t know why she puts up with me. Oh wait, I do. When we got to the B&N we quickly found out that the Starbucks had run out of raspberry scones that Biker Witch really wanted. But I managed to get them to find one for her. So…just saying I’m not totally useless.
Saturday I went to my meeting. Most of it was spent with Laura plotting a secret project. We had a great time!
Sunday, Wizard and I hung out.
Here’s how Bailey spent his weekend:
Saturday: Bailey uses his sad face to convince BLB to stop doing homework and play with him. Works every time.
Sunday: Bailey goes to work with CPA Boy, takes a long nap then here he’s checking into make sure CPA Boy is working. He needs more toys and treats.
The boys text me regular Bailey Dog updates.
And lastly, BLB is doing pretty well. He works more than I thought he would, along with carrying a full load of classes, but that’s his call. I trust his judgement and know he’ll adjust as he needs to.
How was your weekend?

Angel Fail…
I’m so not buy this angel act. What do you think?
I’m heading out tomorrow to my local RWA Chapter meeting. Probably being hanging out with my critique partner, Laura Wright and ending up talking shop. It’s a sickness, LOL! Have a great weekend!

Wing Slayer Worthy
These short weeks are killer! I can’t believe it’s Wednesday. I’m so freaking determined to keep going on CAGE MAGIC until I have to stop for revisions on the no-title-yet Entangled book. That one is scheduled for release March 2013 and I expect revisions next month. In the meantime, I’m going to write on CAGE MAGIC every day to keep myself anchored in the story.
Although yesterday didn’t go well since my wireless keyboard started acting like it was haunted. It would work. Then stop. Then work. I tried swapping out batteries, reconnecting it, restarting the computer, even selective swearing…and it still acted like a poltergeist with a bad attitude. Finally I realized I was defeated and hooked up my old keyboard. But I got an hour or two in so I guess that’s something. Today will be better.
Now for Wing Slayer Worthy. I have to choose from the pics I have on file (rights bought from Bigstock). We’ll give this one a shot:
So what do you think? Any potential for a Wing Slayer Hunter?

Happy Labor Day (in the States)! Hope everyone has a day ...
Happy Labor Day (in the States)! Hope everyone has a day off today!
So yesterday, Wizard went out to breakfast. And while there, we spontaneously decided to drive to San Diego and take the two-hour harbor cruise. It was wonderful!
Here’s the San Diego sky line from the ship. It’s not a great pic, but the skyline was amazing.
After that we went by the navel ship yard, but I didn’t get a good enough shot of that. I was so paranoid I would drop my iPhone in the bay. But my iPhone made it home with me, safe and sound and must to Wizard’s relief! Although he’s still laughing that I accidentally turned the video on and couldn’t get it off. We were on the top deck and I couldn’t see the screen in the blazing sun. I got great video of our feet…but I’ll spare you that.
This is one of my shots of the Coronado Bridge. It’s amazing to see!
Next is a pic I took of myself while Wizard was off getting cold drinks for us. He said I should I shouldn’t put on the blog as it doesn’t meet his standards of what a pic of me should look like. Yeah…like I’m going to listen. This is what I look like after about an hour and a half in the heat and wind.
After we docked, we walked along the bay, looked at shops and then ate a late lunch on the pier. We had great seats right next to a window overlooking the bay. Look who tried to join us:
I think he was applying for a position as a Wing Slayer Hunter
And last, as we were walking back to the car, we passed the awesome Midway Aircraft Carrier (retired). We went on this last year and loved it. In this pic, you might be able to make out the jets sitting on the deck to get an idea how big this ship is.
We had fun, and more importantly, Wizard relaxed. Well we both did, but he’s been working so hard, I was glad to see him relaxing.
Today I’m working!
How was your weekend, and do you have any special plans today?

Beware of Moody Witch
Another Friday…I don’t know where time has gone. I’m in a strange mood.
Partly because BLB moved back to his house. I am very happy for him. He started the new job at work and is very positive. He also started back to college with a full load. He is adapting and changing to his new reality with incredible fortitude and grace.
Wizard happened to be walking across the street the other day, and he said he looked down at the little blue dot in the road–it’s a small plastic square that marks where the fire hydrant is.
So little.
Been there since we bought this house about 15 years ago.
Who knew that one Christmas Eve, on a day that was picture perfect right up until that moment, BLB would hit that dot on a motorized scooter and everything would change.
A freak accident.
One that most likely cost BLB his dream job that he has been working toward since he was nineteen years old. I can’t share the actual job, but it’s very hard to achieve. He found out he was one of the select few six weeks after he broke his leg.
Who knows, it could still happen, but doubtful. However they do want him if it’s at all possible, which is a good thing for him to know.
I admire the hell out of him. And now, I’m looking back at that long road, and realizing that in the midst of all that hardship and pain, I got an incredible gift. I’ve always been pretty close with my kids. We’re a tight family.
But while BLB recovered, we grew closer. We had a lot of fun and laughs. We stayed up late together because he couldn’t sleep. Or when we went out with Biker Witch, who made BLB feel both special and normal, even while still in the wheelchair. The truth is that Wizard and I had moments with our son we’d never have had otherwise. Sometimes his humor got us through the moment.
We saw exactly how amazing out other two sons were when called upon. I had no idea what they were capable of until their brother was hurt. I learned there was an unbreakable bond there, one that assures me if Wizard and I are gone, they will be okay. And they have been there for Wizard and I whenever it got to be too much for us.
But now it’s time to let go. This is as vital as anything else we did to help BLB’s recovery. He’s fine. He can do this. He will only need us for little things now as he learns to fly on his own again. He will have setbacks and bad days, and we’ll be there. But he’s in charge of his own life. As it should be.
It just leaves me with a small lump in my throat. And tremendous pride and love in my heart.
Letting go. The hardest, and best, thing we ever do.
On the upside, though, this let’s me turn my full attention to Linc. He wanted my attention, now he has it. Bwahahaha!! CAGE MAGIC is gong to get written one way or another and Linc had better just suck it up and deal with the challenge!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Wing Slayer Worthy
I hate waiting. Just thought you all should know that. Hate it.
And on another subject, so you know that for-freaking-ever Linc drove me crazy wanting me to tell his story, right? Okay I’m doing it, trying to work on his book. But Now he’s working up to good and pissed over the way his story is going. Sigh…men. There is just no pleasing them.
And seriously Linc, you’re the one that insisted you were going to win your witch in a bet. I gave you that much.
Sigh.
Let’s not talk about Linc, okay? He’s giving me indigestion. And don’t even get my started on Ram, Shayla and Ginny…
Okay we need to get to an entirely different subject. What do you all this of this guy?
So…is he Wing Slayer Worthy?

Weekend Roundup
I drove by a selling German Shepherd puppies AND they had the puppies in the front yard in a pen. So adorable!!
Man, that was a test of my willpower. The only reason I didn’t stop was that I had a piece of strawberry cheesecake in the car I had bought for Wizard.
Stupid Wizard ruins all my fun. Sure he didn’t ask for the cheesecake, or haven any idea I was getting it for him, but still, I blame him.
Then late yesterday afternoon, Wizard and I were running errands, and in the shopping center, there was a huge plastic container with a sign that says Cutest Puppies. Wizard kept on driving.
Mean Wizard! If I had been driving, things would have been much different!
So overall we had a good weekend except for work. I had planned on working Sunday but surprise guests threw that plan off. Today I’m working all day after the gym. Oh and my lunch with a friend on Saturday was great. I felt much better by then and really enjoyed it.
So how was your weekend?
