Joys to savour
Joy to each might have different hues
Recognising and counting it, it’s important to choose
Instead of your cares holding sway, ferret out those joys hidden in every day.
What could they be?
Something simple, that you see
A compliment
A message from a friend
Sharing a moment
An email or text to send
A smile from a stranger
The song of a bird
That shaft of sunshine
Beautiful music just heard
Gifting time to help another
A shared repast
Writing,and new things to discover
The future and the past
Having a giggle
Some time with a friend
Sharing time with a lover
Joys countless to spend
A quick list off the top of my head
Of joys to savour
So many others to add to the list
Maybe add yours to mingle the flavour
Care to share some of yours?

In your arms
In your arms I feel consoled
Let go the fears within
Feel safe and warmed of icy cold
That surrounded me since him
I feel the bud of warm sweet love
A tingling of the skin
Your caring fits me like a glove
Maybe happiness will win
In your words I feel uplifted
A story newly formed
A new adventure that feels significant
As my defences you have stormed
In your arms I feel my wanting grow
Though tempered yet with caution
I feel love begin to show

Future memories
What will I think of you in years to come
Will my memory of events be true or turned to none
I hope the best moments will still be there
Or will they be subsumed by the bitter share
How can I hold the bliss, the joy of you
Will it just be a transient pleasure, with no review
As life twists and turns and feelings change
Will memories be soured and rearranged
We are in the throes of passion
Let it in we don’t have to ration
Let’s enjoy our time together
Hope these headlines showcase the endeavour
With work and luck we will continue to add new chapters
Keeping love in our lives, making raptures
Right now let’s try to make great moments
Catch the rainbow, bottle the psychosis
What will I think of you in years to come

Willing you to smile
I am in a happy mood
Want to share it with a multitude
This crazy streak
May make me wreak
Happy havoc
As I speak
I want to make the whole world smile
Although that may take a while
So instead will start with you
Try to will you smiling too!

Trapped
Trapped in this life
Like a fly in a Web
Though not trussed up tight
In silken thread
Held by invisible chains
Of inertia and caring
Longing for a tangible love
Rather than this shell, they are wearing
She knows there is affection
But dreams of so much more
She reads of soul mates
She wants that encore
She searches her memory
Was love ever as bright
As those flashes, she dreams of at night
She’s stuck in dependency
Trapped in this life
Mesmerised by lights
Wanting so much more
Unsure how to unwrap paradise
Trapped in this life
Wishing, wanting, wondering, wife.

Conundrum
I think maybe I show too much empathy
Programmed to care distorts my destiny
My motivations mean I often put myself last
It’s the way it’s always been, though there is joy in the repast
Does it mean I lack the ability to be truly me
Or does it show I am happy with myself, able to see
Is it comprise, or self sellout
Balance or washedout
Love oneself is the mantra
That’s certainly part of life’s chapter
Loving self should expand the love I have to give
Life’s a riddle, with no clear solution forthwith
I learn, I grow, I slip, I slide
Happiness important in this life I ride
Life’s a conundrum
The minds construction

Make every day count
Make every day count
Time is always running out
Every day we waste
That we don’t appreciate
Is gone, on to tomorrow
Be it happiness or sorrow
Find the inner joy
Deal with the annoy
Find some inner peace
Whatever is brewing underneath
Make every day count
Time is always running out

Far away lovers
We have only words
To marshall in herds
To paint living pictures
To beguile and bewitch us
We paint the headlines
Fill in the odd byline
Leaving the other
Space,to create and discover
The essence of us
For far away lovers it’s ever thus
