When a smile
When A smile lights up a face
Warms the soul, leaves a trace
Joy and happiness fit the bill
Sometimes misery adds a chill
Frown and glower sets the face
For despair we have to brace
Try to find the bud of hope
Nurture it expand its scope
Don’t rail about the tides of fate
Or sour yourself with dishes of hate
Look inside for inner peace
Celebrate every kindness feat
When a smile lights up a face
Joy beams out and adds some grace.

Spring
Butterfly or Moth
Friends on the Net
You share with me, words that imply caring
Feels that your soul, you are baring
Feel so close though far apart
Your little quirks touch my heart
I shake my head and try to find
The nuances that are in your mind
We have a discussion it’s the real deal
On world affairs, we share the same zeal
We have never met and never will
Except on the net, that’s not overkill
We share some spare minutes in our days
Friends today come via different ways.

Sexy day dream
Day dreams hold me, fitting like a glove
Floating weightless, visions that I love
Gravitating upwards, towards the elusive picture
There are no limits to the excitement within the mixture
Pushing the boundaries of what can be done
Wanting to touch you, emotions overcome
Mind picture sees me sitting by your side
Sliding down upon your lap maybe take a ride
Stretching all our senses searching for fun
Longing for your body, truly overcome.

Self improvement
I hear the news, I read the papers
The rules to good health, give me the vapours
Today red wine is good for the heart
Yesterday it was a poisoned dart
Fruit is in and then it’s out
Smoothies are good then there is a doubt
So I try and try to follow the rules
Though I begin to think they are written by fools
I give up wine and drink more water
Eat healthy food, pass junk ,more than I oughta
I eat less meat and eat more beans
You can hear me coming ,if you know what I mean
Butters in then it’s out
My poor sober brain begins to doubt
I eat healthy food, I hardly drink
I exercise to reduce my bingo wings
It’s all so pointless I feel sad
When healthy living should make me glad
I drink more wine, I reduce the water
Read the news want to shoot the reporter
I am on the treadmill what the hell
Might as well have a Donut ,as well
I skip the news and censor the paper
I use common sense, a ball breaker
I weigh myself and exercise
A slim svelte body the ultimate prize
I drink more wine I dance and sing
Join an exercise class for lots of ping
I weigh myself I give it up
Throw the scales in the garbage truck
I shop, I live, I eat I drink, sod the fads they mostly suck

Picture of you
I found a picture of you
Made me think, made me blue
It’s always hard when love moves on
Thought I was over you, not mourning what has gone
I found a picture of you
Made me think, remember true
All the funny times we used to share
All the lovely moments in my memory, things to treasure not despair
I found a picture of you
Made me think, a life review
The good, the bad, the joy the hurt
You taught me much, of life and leaving but I learnt
I found a picture of you
Made me think, I started a new
Lessons learned, from our love affair
Maybe I will repeat mistakes, as I nature new love rare
I found a picture of you
Made me think, pastures new.

Where do you go to
Where do you go to , when you are lonely in the night
Into day dreams, of what might be, or a nightmare filled with fright
Do you picture your lovers arms, their aura burning bright
Or reorder your future, to get rid of things too trite
When you are feeling lonely, do you try to feel the light
Or get overcome with the blackness, of a totally moonless night
Wherever you go to, try make it pure delight
Count all those who love you and add up all those who might.
