Cirrus Metamorphosis
I was lying down
Watching the clouds
One looked like a giant beetle
I watched and watched
Until the wind
Turned it into a running man
And I thought:
We see what we want in anything
Watching the clouds
One looked like a giant beetle
I watched and watched
Until the wind
Turned it into a running man
And I thought:
We see what we want in anything

A Judgemental Toilet
I’ve finished my 5th beer
And it’s time to piss
So I go to the toilet
Pull it out
And release the dam
The stream is strong
And we’ve got one of those
Toilet cleaner things
On the side of the bowl
So it produces
Soap-suds in the water
While I piss
But I see them as eyes
A hundred eyes
Looking up at me
Judging me
For my 2nd or 3rd
Beer piss
In an hour
But maybe that’s
Just the alcohol
Talking
And it’s time to piss
So I go to the toilet
Pull it out
And release the dam
The stream is strong
And we’ve got one of those
Toilet cleaner things
On the side of the bowl
So it produces
Soap-suds in the water

But I see them as eyes

Alcohol
You wanna know
What the appeal
Of alcohol is
Well
After 6 or 7
Cold ones
You get to a stage
Where you feel
Light and free
Half-eyed
And if an asteroid
Were to come
Hurtling towards earth
You’d sit there
Looking up at it
With a smile
And you’d say,
‘Fair enough. Bring it on.’

The Script
It’s funny
How sometimes
You get so close
So complacent
With those close to you
That they almost
Become strangers
You pass in the street
Never breaking the skin
Just keeping it light
And safe
Waiting for the next
Big thing
To rip the script
In two
How sometimes
You get so close
So complacent
With those close to you
That they almost
Become strangers
You pass in the street
Never breaking the skin
Just keeping it light
And safe
Waiting for the next
Big thing
To rip the script
In two
Sometimes...
Sometimes
I wish I were a money-chaser
It would be so much easier
Not counting every penny
Worrying about future bills
But instead I
Keep it simple
I work my 9-5
Sock away my
Little bit of savings
And stick to a strict budget
And that’s that
No investment
No special accounting magic
Just a back-and-forth of
Spending and savings
Keeping afloat
Looking down
At the poor lower class
Waiting…
Until a shark
Swims up from
The darkness
I wish I were a money-chaser
It would be so much easier
Not counting every penny
Worrying about future bills
But instead I
Keep it simple
I work my 9-5
Sock away my

Stay Inside And Listen To The Rain Against The Window
You know
You try to like people
But when you leave the house
You get tailgated
Cut off
Overtaken
And when you come home
You become bitter
And start to flirt
With misanthropy
But I suppose
You don’t have to like
Every single person
Just the ones who
Give you space
You try to like people
But when you leave the house
You get tailgated
Cut off
Overtaken
And when you come home
You become bitter
And start to flirt
With misanthropy
But I suppose
You don’t have to like
Every single person
Just the ones who
Give you space
That Green Grass
In a way I admire
The bums
The layabouts
The restless
Those who live
On the fringes of society
Those who are courageous
Enough
To dismiss security
The 9-5
The comprehensive car insurance
The savings of money
The second helping at dinner
The safety net
That keeps you off the floor
And going through life
At half-mast
The bums
The layabouts
The restless
Those who live
On the fringes of society
Those who are courageous
Enough
To dismiss security
The 9-5
The comprehensive car insurance
The savings of money

Chasing The Horizon
Sometimes
When I see a tree swaying
Or a bird flying
Or a cloud drifting
I get filled with
An overwhelming feeling of
Love and awe
For the world
That makes me sick
When I see a tree swaying
Or a bird flying
Or a cloud drifting
I get filled with
An overwhelming feeling of
Love and awe
For the world
That makes me sick

Free Will
I got up in the morning and had a shower
Because I wanted to, not because I stank
I got in my car and drove to work
Because I wanted to, not because the bills never stop
I went to the gym after work
Because I wanted to, not because I'm fat
I made dinner after the gym
Because I wanted to, not because I was hungry
I went to bed after dinner
Because I wanted to, not because I have to do the same shit again tomorrow
Because I wanted to, not because I stank
I got in my car and drove to work
Because I wanted to, not because the bills never stop
I went to the gym after work
Because I wanted to, not because I'm fat
I made dinner after the gym
Because I wanted to, not because I was hungry
I went to bed after dinner
Because I wanted to, not because I have to do the same shit again tomorrow

Trivialities
If you’re worried about
The height of your lawn
The length of your hair
The width of your waist
The cleanliness of your car
The colour of the curtains
The shape of your nose
The mould in the shower
The loud neighbour
The pothole on Main Street
The war in a different country
Then life is good
The height of your lawn
The length of your hair
The width of your waist
The cleanliness of your car
The colour of the curtains
The shape of your nose
The mould in the shower
The loud neighbour
The pothole on Main Street
The war in a different country
Then life is good
