P038: Podcast Update
In today’s episode, 38, I’m giving a recap of what my podcast is about, where I’m going to take it and how it might look in the future. I’m still in the midst of seeking God’s face for answers but I believe A Purpose Driven Wife Podcast will be under a new name. Not sure what it will be. I’m still going to keep A Purpose Driven Wife but not sure what God is taking it yet.
I share a lot of myself, my business and what God is doing in my life because I want to show others that you are not alone in this. Sometimes this walk can get lonely and you may sometimes think your crazy, but I’m here to show you guys the REAL deal, so we can walk together in life.

P036: 5 Success blockers entrepreneurs do to block their success
Isaiah 41:10-
“Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.”
As Entrepreneurs we have a passion to do what is in our hearts, to go after the vision we see and Bless the world with our strengths and talents. As we move forward in the direction of our dreams there are obstacles in our way that can slow us down. When we acknowledge the things God has put in our hearts to do as an entrepreneur and go forward in the things of God, the enemy will not be happy. He will send things to slow you down… Here are some examples I have experience personally and actions to help you, not make the same mistakes I made in allowing these obstacles to slow me down.
Fear– The word of God, the scripture I just wrote says to NOT FEAR…WHY? Because God is with you. If God gave you the desires of your heart to pursue the things in business, then why are you allowing yourself to slow down?! There’s no need to because the world needs to hear what God put in your heart. It also shifts out focus from God to the situation, when God was leading you the whole time. God didn’t give us the spirit of fear but of POWER, LOVE and a SOUND mind, Let’s WALK in that!
Doubt- This is a lack of trust we have in knowing that God will help us succeed. If God is for you, who can be against you? (Romans 8:31) It’s YOU! You are allowing yourself to doubt and not trust that God has a plan for your future, a plan to prosper you (Jer.29:11). You are ultimately hurting yourself. God wants you to succeed, Believe it!
Making Excuses- I read where Dr. Charles Stanly said that sometimes we make excuses to make our disobedience comfortable. This blew my mind, because when God places something in your heart to do and you make excuses for not doing it, You are DOWN RIGHT disobedient. Making excuses like: “I don’t have the finances”, “I’m too busy”, “I have my kids”… This is no excuse for you to NOT do what is in your heart to do as an entrepreneur, that God gave you. If there are obstacles, the word of God says to TRUST GOD and Acknowledge HIM in all your ways… and HE will make your paths straight, Making excuses for it will hinder your success.
Procratination- You are sitting on what needs to be and you’re not doing it. The word of God says in Luke 12:35a- “Stay dressed for action…” I LOVE this because when God puts a desire or word in your heart, You are READY for action, ready to get to the promise land God has prepared for you. What promises has HE made to you… STAY FOCUS on that and you will be armed and ready for action.
Which leads me to my last success blockers for entrepreneurs and that is Laziness I sought out the definition of Laziness and it says, Unwilling to use energy. If you think about it, if you have a desire, passion and fire in your heart for the message God has given you, people need to hear it and get some of that energy you have. You are literally saying with your actions that you are comfortable where you at in life. NOT ME!!! I want what God has for me and I’m GETTING it!!! Because I want more of the blessings He has in store for me and I am willing to do what it takes because HE knows whats best for me. What are you willing to do for your future?

P034: Success Regimen for Entrepreneurs
As entrepreneurs, were in the business of making money for whatever reason, having strategies, systems, regimen, etc. in place to achieve an income in business and in life. What steps are you taking to achieve that?
A regimen is commonly used as a health term, meaning there’s a plan in place to improve or maintain the health of someone. I liked the idea of a “regimen” in business because now you will have systems in place to improve or maintain your business for success.

Success Regimen for Entrepreneurs-Part 2
In Success Regimen for entrepreneurs I sent the foundation in really establishing a success regimen to be successful in business as entrepreneurs. s entrepreneurs, were in the business of making money for whatever reason, having strategies, systems, regimen, etc. in place to achieve an income in business and in life. What steps are you taking to achieve that?
A regimen is commonly used as a health term, meaning there’s a plan in place to improve or maintain the health of someone. I liked the idea of a “regimen” in business because now you will have systems in place to improve or maintain your business for success.
Success is what we’re reaching for in business but do we have a plan in place for that? Other than website, blog, a social media platform, etc? I shared…
Spending time with God is important for success
(Joshua 1:8)
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
Listening to motivational messages
(Romans 10:17)
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Reading books towards your goal
(Philippians 3:14)
“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Review your dreams and goals
(Habakkuk 2:2)
“And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.”
Exercise
(Hebrews 12:11-12).
“So don’t sit around on your hands! No more dragging your feet! Clear the path for long-distance runners so no one will trip and fall, so no one will step in a hole and sprain an ankle. Help each other out. And run for it!”
In this post, I’m going to share with you the tools to actually achieve the steps shown above, in part 1. To help you along the way of being successful in not just in business but in all areas of your life.
Steps to achieve your success regimen:
Start small. (Take one step at a time)
Be Consistent
Set a 21 day goal (Break old habits and start a new successful one).
Write your goals down. (Marking off on a calendar everyday is encouraging and helps build confidence).
Form a support group or join a support group. (getting an accountability partner and/or mentor to not only hold you accountable to complete each day but to help support you in your new goals and Journey).
Following and doing these steps as helped me personally in my Journey in business. I shared my testimony in Part 1. I want you to be successful in your walk as well. You don’t have to follow what everyone else is doing, get frustrated, quit, have your family upset, your health in danger, you have places to go and things to do. God doesn’t want you to feel stressed, quit or even hurt your family in the process of building yourself and business. God wants to do so much more in your life then giving you money. He wants to be apart of the process, He wants you to depend on HIM and HIM ONLY! He has your best in mind.
In my book: S.M.A.R.T. Goals for the Christian Entrepreneur I go more in detail about the ups and downs I experienced in pursuing success on my own, without God.

““Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Success Regimen for entrepreneurs-Part 1
What is a success regimen for entrepreneurs? As entrepreneurs, were in the business of making money for whatever reason, having strategies, systems, regimen, etc. in place to achieve an income in business and in life. What steps are you taking to achieve that?
A regimen is commonly used as a health term, meaning there’s a plan in place to improve or maintain the health of someone. I liked the idea of a “regimen” in business because now you will have systems in place to improve or maintain your business for success.
Success is what we’re reaching for in business but do we have a plan in place for that? Other than website, blog, a social media platform, etc? In this post, I’m going to share with you the benefits of having a success regimen that won’t leave your bank account on “E”, stressed out, confused and/or frustrated but will leave you at peace, excited and enjoying the process of building your business. Let’s Go…
In establishing a success regimen for my business, I was able to:
-Lose 30+lbs and get toned
-Published a book
-Re-Design my blog that’s thriving
-Get speaking engagements
-Created a podcast that’s being listened to all over the world.
-An AMAZING Marriage
-My house is in order
-My kids are happy and thriving
-A peace & joy along this journey of building my business
Terri Savelle Foy, Said: “Successful people have successful habits, the way you live your life today will prepare you for tomorrow’s journey.” My question is, What are you preparing for? As christian entrepreneurs, we’re striving to achieve whatever God has put in our hearts, He’s given you a vision for your business and taking steps toward that, HAS to come from HIM.
You can achieve success everyday. Here are the steps I use everyday in my life as I’m building the dream God has put in my heart to achieve…
– I spend time with God.
Every single day whether its 5 mins to 2 hours, I spend it with God, asking questions, praying, reading the word of God, singing songs of praise and worship.
– I Listen to motivational messages
Listening to motivational messages helps with the assignment, the purpose and plans God has for me. It helps me to not quit. Faith comes by hearing, (Romans 10:17) to have the faith it takes to be an entrepreneur, striving to walk out the dreams and visions God has put in your heart takes a lot of strength, faith and courage to do it.
– I Read books (Towards my goals)
John Maxwell, stated that leaders are readers. If you are an entrepreneur, you have people looking at you to see what you are doing, whether you know it or not, you are a leader setting an example for others looking at you as you build your business. Read a good book that will speak to what you are striving to do in business and that will keep you motivated in the process and grow.
– Review your dreams and goals
I have a vision board on my computer screen, that has promises God has given to me, shown me in dreams and in His word. It keeps me focused on where God is taking me. I know (for me) it’s not a typical step by step Journey, He has me on, so I am dependent on Him and walking by faith in the process. In having a vision board always before you, it keeps you motivated and focused on what is to come and helps you to recognize things that can distract you as well.
– Exercise
Working out helps to keep my mind clear. I workout 6 days a week and rest on Sunday. I found that I have more energy with not just exercising but eating right. I’m able to do more during the day with my husband, children, housework, business, church activities and more. Eating healthy and working out can help with your confidence, it helps to clear your mind for creativity, ideas and witty inventions to come alive.

What does it mean to have God in your business?
The other day, I had someone ask me, What does it mean to have God in your business? It took me back to the process God took me through when I first started my business over 6+ years ago, which then started the book writing process, in really explaining what it mean to have God in your business.
This is the process I write in my book: S.M.A.R.T. Goals for the Christian Entrepreneur, A guide to achieving success in all areas of your life. You can get and learn more here. I began to sit down and write 10 steps God took me through and the process is in more detail in the book.
#1- Don’t focus on money.
To be successful, the way God desires you to be, money can’t be the focus. You may be thinking…”Trista, I’m in business, I have to think about money…” I’m here to tell you, no you don’t! God want’s you to successed in business more than you do. He has strategies that won’t break the bank, that won’t cause you to stress, etc. God tells us in His word what to think on. In Philippians 4:8– “…Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praise worthy, think about such things.” If money is all you think about, it will the driving factor in how you run your business and God wants so much more for you.
#2- Live the lifestyle.
What does that mean… It means you follow the principles in God word and walk it out. You are a believer of Jesus Christ, there is a reason why you believe, share that story. You are a witness to how good God is, don’t hold that back. When you come across a word that has hit you in heart, walk it out. God’s word says in James 1:22 & 25– “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. The man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it, he will be blessed in what he does.” The 2 key words I want to point out is “Freedom” and “Blessed” This was the 2 things I craved in the midst of chaos I was experiencing. God wants you to be free from stress and worry and instead be blessed in your all areas of your life.
#3- Keep in front of you the purpose of why you are in business.
The bible says in Habakkuk 2:2– “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” It doesn’t have to be words, it can picture, a scripture of the reason God called you to the business. So every time you see it, you can continue on the path He has you on to success, enjoying the Journey on the way there.
#4- Seek His face daily.
This is not just an everyday thing or when you have the opportunity to. This is every single day, something you rely on. If you take vitamins or medicine every day you rely on, the word of God is the exact same thing spiritually. IF God called you into business, we have to get our instructions from God and strength to endure til the end. In Luke 12:31- “But seek His kingdom and these things will be added.”
#5- Prayer.
When first began to learn more about Jesus Christ in my life, my pastor would teach that prayer was simple a conversation between you and God. You talk to God about what is on your heart. About anything. In Psalms 55:17- “Evening, Morning and at noon, I utter my complaint and moan and He hears my voice.” It necessarily doesn’t have to be moaning or complaining but you are sharing wants on your.
#6- Give thanks to God.
Everything that happens in your business, give all glory to God. Giving God thanks for the desire to be in business, for giving you strength to continue another day in business. The bible says in James 1:17- “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the father…”
#7- Set your priorities in order.
You don’t want to spend more time in your business than you do your kids, your spouse or even yourself, because they will be missing out. God has set things in order for a reason. Of course, there are says where you won’t even be able to work on your business, but its the quality with your family and even your self that matters. Then when you are able to you will find that you will be more productive and successful in your business. The bible says in Psalms 16:8- “I have set the Lord always before me, because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” When I set the Lord before me in my day, in my decision-making, no matter what it may look like in front of me, I’m not moved or shaken because you are at my right hand.
#8- Tithe.
Tithing, 10% from your business is the best thing you can do, heading towards being successful. In Malachi 3:10- “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, If I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” God wants you to succeed in business and in all areas of your life.
#9- Trust God.
When you have a family and God calls you into business. Trust that God has a better way for you. You don’t need to hustle or grind to get your business started, lose sleep, stress or even worry God has so much for you. I LOVE what the scripture says in the Message version of Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust God from the bottom of your heart, don’t try to figure everything out, everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go, he’s the one who will keep you on track.”
#10- Walk by Faith.
Walking by faith is another way you can be successful and truly Trust God in the process of your business. When you walk by faith and not by what your circumstances look like, God can take you places, you won’t be able to take yourself. You’ll be blessed beyond measure, because you are trusting God and not being motivated by your circumstances. We are moved by not our circumstances but what God’s word says. In 2 Corinthians 5:7- “We walk by faith not by sight…” Let’s get motivated by what God’s word says and not by what’s in front of us.
I pray these tips help you in your Journey in what God has for you in your life. God’s way of doing things is so much better, He wants to succeed in life more than you do. You are a Proverbs 31 Woman
I am a Proverbs 31 Woman!
Yes, YOU! YOU ARE A PROVERBS 31 WOMAN…already, no matter what stage of your life, you are a PROVERBS 31 WOMAN. Why do I say that you ask…I’m glad you asked, well… The proverbs 31 woman seems to have it all figured out, As an entrepreneur, her marriage, her children, her household, she’s so wise, she’s generous, and has such a wonderful relationship with the Lord, etc.
Who comes out the womb doing these things? Knowing what it takes to make her husband trust in her (V.11), have her children call her blessed (V.28), knowing what to do with her business to make it profitable (V.16 18), She’s talented (V.22), has her household in order (V.27), Has wisdom (V.26), She’s fit (V.17), etc.
I believe she’s had a few storms in her marriage, her business, running her household, etc. Before being able to be successful in these areas. Being successful in business comes with all kinds of mistakes and even failures to even have a profitable business. No one comes out of the womb with wisdom on running a business from the start-up. I KNOW she had to have failed and make mistakes.
Even in her marriage, I’ve never heard of anyone having a perfect marriage, with no issues, or arguing. With two different people, coming together to create a marriage, God designed, has to come from much friction and prayer.
My intention is to not down play the work she has done, but I’m tired of hearing women feel less than because of all she has accomplished. Enduring in your marriage during the hard times, there’s fruit. Pressing through the tough times in business, there’s fruit. Seeking God’s face daily, in good times and bad, there’s fruit.
I believe what the word of God says In Romans 5:3-5 “…We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character and character hope and hope does not put to shame, because God’s love is poured into our hearts through the holy spirit who has been given to us.”
To have the Godly character she is show-casing in this scripture has to come with some suffering, some storms, some trials to produce the endurance she has (V.15), The endurance produces character (V.20), and Character hope (V. 21), all of this fruit she produces is explained toward the end of the chapter… She fears the Lord (V.30).
I believe being submitted under God’s authority and having Him as Lord over ourselves, our marriage, our children, our business, our health, etc will produce the similar fruit as this women. Enduring, having Godly character, a profitable business, all is because she fears the Lord… and that’s the moral of the story folks.
Being successful in all areas of life is first submitting under the authority of our Lord Jesus and you too will bear fruit! I talk more about success in all areas and the process God took me through to also bear fruit in all areas of my life, God has blessed me with, in my book: S.M.A.R.T.
