The Domestics Is A Rock Solid Thrill Ride.
This movie is a ton of fun. The concept of the apocalypse has been around since the dawn of our species, but it seems to have garnered a new lease on life over the past fifteen years. While stories like The Walking Dead and 28 Days Later have made a mark, many of the most recent releases in the genre have veered toward fantastic monsters. Therefore, I sought out something a little more original in the form of The Domestics.
To keep it short and sweet, it’s not perfect, but you might like it!

The Party’s Just Beginning Is A Poorly Categorized Masterpiece.
If this is what Karen Gillan is capable of, I can’t wait to see what she does next. At this point, it’s fair to say that Karen Gillan is a household name. Like many of you, I have seen and loved her energetic performances in Doctor Who, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, so I was naturally drawn to The Party’s Just Beginning when it arrived on Hulu. Initially, I thought that this movie would be a dramedy that mixes the ups and downs of life, but I was sorely mistaken...

Whiskey Cavalier Needs A Lot Of Work.
It’s not bad, but it could be so much better! ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier is the latest effort by network television to mix spies, romance, and action into a complete package. Needless to say, I’m a fan of kick-ass entertainment with a little bit of love thrown in, so it naturally attracted my attention from the moment that the first trailer dropped online. Now that a few episodes have graced our television screens, I can confidently develop a verdict on it.
Long story short, Whiskey Cavalier is s...

Let’s Talk About The Bachelor.
If this isn’t supposed to be a trashy romance, why does the hero have one defining character trait? If you’ve been following this site for any length of time, you’ve probably picked up on my annoyance with reality TV and romantic works. Sure, I may enjoy a subplot or two in a sci-fi or fantasy story, but it seems like romantic stories are the junk food of the entertainment industry. They’re relatively cheap to produce, gain huge followings rather quickly, and can generate explosive discussio...

The Media Is Lying About The Negative Reaction To Captain Marvel.
No. If you’re a fan of movies, then you’ve probably heard about the recent controversy surrounding Captain Marvel. The MCU’s 21st film is set to release on March 8th, but the promotional tour is running into some trouble due to the comments of its star, Brie Larson. Over the course of the past year, the 29-year-old actress noted that the people talking to her in the press were far too white and male, so she (and, by extension, the shill press) decided to cause a pop culture shitstorm.

Deutschland 86 Is A Masterful Sequel.
Guess what happens next? In our most recent article, I gave high praise to Anna and Jörg Winger’s Deutschland 83. In the face of overwhelming odds, the writer-producer couple managed to mix heart, intrigue, and a devotion to history to create one of the greatest spy thrillers of all time. And yet, one question still lingered in the depths of my rage-fueled mind.
Could lightning strike twice in Germany?
Yes. Yes, it can.
Just like its prequel, Deutschland 86 is one hell of a ride!

Deutschland 83 Is A Fascinating Cold War Thriller.
It’s time to see the past from a different point of view. Historical fiction has always been a fascination of mine, particularly when all of the “What Ifs?” come into play. I’ve been looking for a variety of stories over the past few months, but none of them have been quite as satisfying as Deutschland 83. While it may be in a foreign language, this show combines a great atmosphere, fantastic acting, and a sense of dread to create one of the best spy thrillers on the market today.

From Russia With Love Is A Fantastic Sequel.
Good evening, Mister Bond. Dr. No may have brought James Bond to the big screen, but I think we can all agree that From Russia With Love put the franchise on the map. Unlike its prequel, it incorporates many of the franchise hallmarks that fans love today, including the pre-title sequence, Desmond Llewelyn’s turn as Q, and the first gadgets. On top of that, this particular story has the distinction of being one of President John F. Kennedy’s favorite books… and the last film that he ever saw....

Dr. No Is A Solid Start To The Bond Franchise.
Here we go! It has often been said that Sean Connery is the definitive James Bond. As the years have gone by, many a fan and critic have taken a liking to his quick wit and ruthlessness, but it’s easy to forget that age can take a toll on many of the defining adventures that turned James Bond into a global phenomenon. With this in mind, our examination of 007 will start with the first official film: Dr. No.
Is it dated? Somewhat.
Is it still a decent espionage thriller? Absolutely.

Bill Maher Doesn’t Understand Shakespeare, Superheroes, Or Pop Culture.
HOW DARE YOU LIKE THE THINGS THAT HE HATES?! In the immediate aftermath of Stan Lee’s untimely passing last year, Real Time host Bill Maher wrote a blog post that decried America’s fascination with comics and superhero movies. In a pseudo-edgy tone, he somehow connected the visual arts to Donald Trump for, you know, reasons. When the backlash hit from the industry and fandom, he managed to double down by feeling sorry for people who like escapism and a decent amount of action in their enterta...
