Hearts Of Iron IV Is Here. It’s Time For A Review!

How does it stack up?
As most of you are well aware, my very first post on this blog was about Hearts of Iron IV. Now that the game is finally here, it is time to ask ourselves if the game lives up to the stunning expectations that we have come to expect from a Paradox title. Luckily for you and me, this game is not getting out of here without a recommendation. However,it does have a few glaring flaws that I need to address on this blog.
Hopefully, Paradox can fix these in future patches. The...

Four Reasons Why Video Game Movies Fail.

I might see this movie soon, but first!
Warcraftis coming out in the U.S. today, so it feels like now would be a very good time to tackle the subject of video game movies. I say this because the film is getting hit hard by critics, but it is just one part of a larger trend in a genre that has some incredible flaws. And for the sake of not flying off into a bitch fit, I will be disregarding everything ever made by Uwe Boll. Everyone already understands that the German Ed Wood makes awful movie...

Captain America: Civil War – A Deeply Flawed Plot.

Why are you fighting? STAHP!
WARNING: If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you’re in the spoiler section of my review. Expect total spoilers for the entirety ofCivil War.
Our heroes can only be made strong by a good script, and this one was not. Look, I get that most people weren’t expecting a similar movie tothose done in the past, but I want to get the point of why this film needed more time in the bakery to at least explain some shit to the audience. As I have said many times before, there...

(Spoiler-Safe) Captain America: Civil War Is Fun… Until You Start To Think About It.

Cool uniform, bro.
As we all know, it is the current year and the latest offering off of the Marvel assembly line is a little picture calledCaptain America: Civil War.I took a little bit of time off of my writing streak yesterday to go and see this juggernaut at the cinema because I love me the fuck out of some Marvel flicks. Regardless of what you think about their quality, these films have always been undeniably entertaining with the possible exception ofIron Man 2, but the Captain America...

Why Outlander Works As A Piece Of Entertainment.

This could get dicey…
In spite of my issues with television nowadays,Outlanderis one of those once-in-a-while shows that came along and delivered a knockout punch that left me wanting more. Based off of the lengthybook series by Diana Gabaldon, the Starz adaptation offers a bizarre mixture of genres and elements that, against all odds, just works. So for this latest adventure into my insanity, let’s take a look at how the show will suck you in like a Scottish lass that knows what she’s doing...

Let’s see what happens.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story dropped its’ first trailer on Good Morning America today, and the Internet hype machine is abuzz once more because one of the great American sci-fi franchises is presenting itself to the world once again. So, I figured why not comment on it for your amusement. Let’s explore some of the reasons why we can look forward to this movie, and what it could mean for the ongoing saga.
1. It Feels Like An Adaptation Of Dark Forces.

The EU is real… an...

The Arrow Syringespiracy (Oliver “Killed” Laurel)

RIP… but maybe that’s what they want you to think!
This one is going to be a short one, and it does contain spoilers for tonight’s episode ofArrow. You’ve been warned in advance.
I have given this show a lot of shit in the past for hackneyed writing and pandering to Olicity shippers, but tonight had a moment that, if true, shows that the writing staff are either really clever bastards or fools. I am not sure which is which, so I’ll leave it up to you to look at some of the evidence.
Near the...

Why Season 6 Of The Walking Dead Was Dumb.

Worst. Introduction. Ever.
What the hell happened to you, The Walking Dead? You used to be cool.
I never really had any serious issues when I watched the first five seasons of the show on AMC. It had that perfect mix of zombie killing and emotional weight that hit the spot on a Sunday evening. With the recent finale, my thoughts have changed almost in a heartbeat. As it turns out, the introduction of one of the most famous villains in the story encapsulated every single thing that is wrong wi...

Why The DC Extended Universe Is Losing Its Way…

It really shouldn’t be this hard.
The staff over at DC Comicsseems to not be getting the memo about why their new brand of films in the DC Extended Universe are not getting such a warm welcome after all these years. Even though it pains me, I feel like my penchant for assholery has forced me to gird my loins and shout at the world about why these films seem to want to so hastily copy the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has led them to flop around like an almost dead fish out of water in the...
