Batman: The Killing Joke Is An Absolute Disaster.

Batman: The Killing Joke - Joker

Mark Hamill is a great Joker, but…

When one talks about the films based on the DC Universe, it can often provoke a divisive reaction. My favorite hero from that IP is arguably Batman, so imagine my interest when I hear thatThe Killing Joke is being turned into an animated movie. I haven’t been keeping up with DC Animated movies all that much, so I thought it’d be interesting to jump back in and see what Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill have been doing outside of theexcellentArkham games.

I am sad...

The Liberators – Part 4 – A U.S. Hearts of Iron IV AAR

The Liberators - Hearts of Iron IV AAR - Invasion of Sweden

The Commies! They’re here!

The Invasion of Sweden.

In late July of 1943, the Soviet Union finally entered the war, invading Sweden and portions of Denmark with over fifty divisions. The Commies established firm control over the southern coast bynightfall on July 21st, but the lines stalled out. Although Eisenhower and the staff at SHAEF HQ were worried that Stalin would send reinforcements, the Swedes assured them that pressure on Germany would help them out by forcing Soviet redeployments.

Star Trek Beyond Is Flawed As Hell, But Fun.

Star Trek Beyond - Title

Never let it be said that my quest to be a contrarianwent nowhere.

After the interesting J.J. Abrams’Star Trekandthe masterful sequel,Into Darkness, I was ecstatic for more from the reboot of Gene Roddenberry’s beloved franchise. It’s one of the few reboots that made me interested to see what comes next, which is a testament to the writers, actors, and the production team. So, what is there to say about the third installment subtitled (or is it partially titled)Beyond?

If you’ve noticed the t...

Long Live The American Revolution!

Long Live The American Revolution - Freedom Intensifies

It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t start off with a dank meme.

I want to wish a Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans. While today is typically filled with hot dogs and sales, I thought it’d be a good idea to take a look back and reflect upon the meaning of the day. I may have only been alive to see a tiny snippet of our history, but all of the divisions that we face today compel me to share just how fortunate we are to be the heirs of the American Revolution. It’s time to take a lo...

The Liberators – Part 3 – A U.S. Hearts of Iron IV AAR

Hearts of Iron IV AAR - Toulouse Pocket

In the drive westward, a small pocket formed after the Allies captured Toulouse.

The PyreneesPocket

In response to the ongoing Nazi and Soviet threat, President Roosevelt began to force Service by Requirement laws through Congress. While some wondered if the move would degrade the quality of the U.S. Army, the situation in Europe was looking more perilous by the day. With the failed landing at Brittany, there was nothing to stop the Nazis from holding off American forces on the continent.

Unfortunately for the Allies, the Soviet Union declared war on Poland at the beginning of 1940.Whiletheirarmies remained incontinental Europe,Eisenhower planned and executed Operation Torch. The Liberators – Part 1 – A U.S. Hearts of Iron IV AAR

Hearts of Iron IV AAR - American Flag

The might of a nation is unleashed…

The United States spent much of the 1930s in deep economic turmoil. The onset of the Great Depression had decimated the American working class, her industrial capacity languished, and there was no political will to engage with the world. Luckily, the inauguration of Frankin Delano Roosevelt in 1933 marked a turning point in the American economy. He spent much of his time delivering on campaign promises to create a New Deal for the millions that languished i...
