Who is Your Lord?
Who is your Lord? Today we will be looking at 1 Peter 3:15. At the beginning of this verse, Peter tells us we must begin by honoring Jesus as holy or special - even as Lord. What is a Lord? What does it mean that we set Jesus apart as our Lord? Does that mean we follow Jesus like we would follow Him on Facebook? What takes place as we make Him our Lord? And what impact does the Lordship of Jesus make on your life?

The Role of Adversity in Shaping a Person’s Character

Receiving Power
Do you consider yourself eternally powerful? Jesus states a fact that we will receive power. Did you receive the Holy Spirit? Then, according to Jesus, you have received power. What does it take to understand and trust the power we have? This power is available to us when we join God in his work. When we align ourselves with God's interest in others, we experience His power. We see Him as He makes an eternal difference in others. And sometimes, He uses us, too!

Be a Witness
What does it take to be a witness? Must you speak or are there other ways to be a witness? There is a difference between building a shed and being a builder. There's a difference between playing guitar and being a guitarist. Jesus tells us we will be witnesses. Like a builder or a musician, we must do it consistently, repeatedly, and well to gain the title. Jesus chose the passive voice to make a point. Your life shows the rest of the world what you think about Jesus. What does your life say?

Do You Hate Your Job?
Do you hate your job? I have hated many jobs I've had. The Bible says, "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty" - Proverbs 14:23. This tells us that even if we think we hate our job, the work we do brings profit. It brings profit to our family, it brings profit to our community, and it brings profit to our boss and co-workers.

Where Your Treasure Is
Where your treasure is, there is your heart. Where is your treasure? Do you store it up or do you give it away and trust in the Lord? Jesus called "The Rich Young Ruler" a fool because he did not consider what God wanted him to do with his riches but only what he wanted. Has God given you something that He wishes for you to give away? Where is your treasure?

Seek His Kingdom
Stop worrying. The Bible tells us not to worry about what we will wear or what we will eat and that to worry about these things is something the world wants us to do. We as Christians are to seek His kingdom and know that God knows what we need and by simply seeking His kingdom, we will have all we need.
