Are you a good listener? As Mike says, "Listen and then listen, more." Listening to others helps us get to know them and helps us know how we can be of service to them. Jesus was a great listener. He would ask people great questions. By doing this, we make others feel appreciated. Today, let's be intentional about listening to those around us.

How to Renew Your Mind
How can we set our minds to be renewed? Mike talks about how we can train our brains to listen to God and to be available to him. How does our environment, the work world, keep us from walking with God? One way is to habitually do the same things every day so our minds are attentive to God and tuned into God's signal. A renewed mind is critical to making God visible in our workplace.

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving keeps us in line with God. When we give God thanks and remember that he is the source of everything and not we ourselves, we take our rightful place in the world. We are ready to do the work God gives us. When we give thanks, we get into God's will, which is good for us. Remember how much God loves you and then thank him. His will is for your ultimate good.

Living Sacrifice
What does it mean to be a living sacrifice? What is a sacrifice anyway? We don't think too much about sacrifice the way the Jews did. They sacrificed animals all the time. For them, sacrifice was real, necessary, painful, and messy. When we punch in and go to work for God each day by praying, "Here I am, God. What do you want me to do today?" we become a living sacrifice.

Came to Serve
The disciples who walked with Jesus often jockeyed for position. They wondered where they would be in Jesus' kingdom. But Jesus came to serve, not to be served. He wasn't about positional authority. Jesus turns our world upside down. When we serve others, we experience his joy. The Greek words translated servant are often translated minister too. When we serve others for Jesus' sake, he becomes visible.

Your Light
Your light is God's light shining uniquely in and through you. Jesus says it's your light, your good works, and your Father in Heaven. He is telling us that our relationship with Him is special, it is unique. He is calling us to do these good works and show "our" light to others so that they will have no other explanation but to know that it is Him, in us. Think about and ask God to show you one unique thing you can do today that will show someone else God through what you are doing.

Marketplace Mission Trip Day 2 – Make Time
Use your extra time to make others successful. When we trust and follow Jesus, we will be ultimately successful for the rest of eternity. But we must earn credibility with smaller things. When you pray for people this week, God may put you in a position to help. Helping takes time. Make your coworkers and your employer successful. Any action you take that is over or above your job description will cause others to question. Unmerited appreciation of our friends is one way we model the unmerited favor and grace given to us by Jesus.
