Battle Scenes and Unsuspecting Demonfey – #Teaser

“Hchrynoch ennovat drylvaunacht khrilnaarr”

The guttural Dlalth invocation to withdraw the obscuring shadows from the cave entrance echoed through the main chamber and each malefey standing, waiting, braced themselves against the inevitable clash to follow.  As the smoky mantle of darkness dissipated, the Demonfey waiting outside came into clearer view; not a straggling handful; not a single unit, but an entire legion numbering twenty or more sent to ensure the continued captivity of Fey of the Light younglings; yet even they, as dispassionate Demonfey of the Realm, could not conceal their surprise upon discovering three lines of opposition with swords raised to greet them. ……

#WritingWeekend – Epic Battle Scenes

.

Words and Imagery, voices shouting, metal skirling upon metal, screams of fear and viperous hissing filled my thoughts this morning amid my morning walk.  No, I was not exercising in the midst of an active war zone, but as Within Temptation rang within my headphones, a pinnacle scene I have been struggling with for nearly two weeks, trying to sort it out, came to fruition in my thoughts.  An hour and nearly 4 miles later, I found myself rushing homeward, the battle raging in my imagination; begging me to wait no longer, compelling me to spend the hours of my day entrenched with them, delivering childfey out of harm, exposing hidden truths, and honouring my warriors with an action scene unlike any I’ve written before…

Thus, as the hours unwind, you will not find me here, but secreted away, fulfilling my obligation.

Walking in Darkness; Blind, yet Brave,

Untended Sentiment once harshly Shriven,

Now Waits, Possession’s Abject Slave.

Mired in Waves of Deliberate Pause,

While Standing Patient Upon the Shore,

Her Heart is Pounding, but with just Cause?

It Matters Little; She Longs for More!

Unbridled Coyness in Demonstration,

Makes Her Timidity Audacious Show,

While All Her Senses in Abdication;

Closing Her Eyes, Lets Passion Grow.

Yet, if Interest is with Danger Fraught,

Then Privileged Purpose will Come to Naught.
