Jaded – A-Z#Poetry

jaded

.

In the darkness

Encircled by change and calamity

Perched upon the precipice with my gaze cast downward

Discovering the abyss

As the candlelight flickers and sways

Like half remembered moments tumbling

From the spires of my Memory,

Heartbeat a hammer

Out of place

Untimely

Consumed and distracted

by the darkness

encircling

#MusicandMuseMonday – The Trance – #Poetry and #Music

.

Trance of Heartbeats

In Simplistic Splendour,

Rivaling all the Passion You engender,

As Night shades Whisper in the

Silken constancy,

All that Tempts within Your Dichotomy.

.

Here in the silent, ebon Hush

As Intrinsic as the Heartbeat

That Sweetly Pounds as we Rush;

The Trance Imbues

With Indigo hues,

Lavish Entrapment to Tempt and confuse.

.

Heartbeats skipping

In the Delicate Thunder,

As we stare, Enraptured,

By the Intoxicating Wonder

Of the Trance,

Deliberately Silent in our Breathless Gaze;

Seduction of Muteness

That Softly plays

As the Trance Shifts

Like Candlelight wavering,

While We Reach,

As We Touch,

The Trance, Ever Savouring!

Potent Power – #FreeVerse #Poetry

Beautifully Bleak 1

Words

Like a Pallet of Paint to Bedeck a barren canvas with Depths otherwise Unknown,

Stand Ready to unmask me.

Call I then upon their Potent Power to Speak for me in Tongues

I would otherwise be ignorant of, and let them Spill Out in Endless Fashion

That, by some means as I may be incapable of,

Tell the Secret Truth about my Heart of Hearts.

Listen, then, with an Attent ear so each word may Fulfill its Purpose.

Give over the Admiration of an accusing mind to the Power of these pawns,

Which now I use so grossly to Unfold myself

And Muse upon this Dilemma, so Beguiling of nature.

There is a numbing silence,

Which Parades around the Inmost parts of me.

An Acquiescence of Spirit that, at times, threatens to Undo me.

Murderous and Suffocating in its heaviness of burden,

Pain taunts my every fiber.

The Shallowness of Love and it’s every Endeavor,

It’s every deception,

It’s every Blaze of Unbridled Passion and Confusion of Ecstasy,

Spin my senses Beyond my comprehension.

What is there, Then, in this simple Plan of Existence we call Reality

To give us any semblance of Meaning or Purpose?

How do we Measure the Challenge of continued breath against the chaos

Of each Beat of our Hearts?

There is an Unquestionable Merit to Patience that I am yet to Understand.

Give me Greed, hatred, or luckless ambition, for by these meager actions

Exists a sense of reason, but what of Love?

It does not give us any Measure of Profit,

Yet we track it as relentlessly as we pursue revenge.

It is Belittling.

It is Empowering.

It is Madness cast upon a writhing sea wherein there lies little Hope.

It is Bitter, Severing Loneliness;

A Place I run to where I might Hide myself and from where I run to hide.

Still; I cannot Hide.

Love is All I truly Long for,

Hope for,

Dream of.

It is the Apparition, the Mirage I witness all around and, yet, cannot Touch.

Each time I suppose myself to be Attaining it,

Love Vanishes into Silvery nothingness,

only to Reappear at the very limit Of my Perception.

Shall I, then, chase after it?

Or shall I sit down among the dry and dusty tumbleweeds

to Wait out the heat of yet another wearisome day?

Nay.

I stand.

I walk.

I run.

Ever and Always, Chasing the Muse.

With Hope as Expectant within me as the Glorious Vision itself,

Casting all my Anticipation upon The One

Who is Ever Capable of combating all the Ruthlessness of this bleak Existence,

and in that Decisive Act of Irrevocable Trust,

I Behold the Manifestation.

#MusicandMuseMonday – Echo – #Poetry and #Music

.

.

In the Spiraling Depths of Time,

Beyond the Chaos of Life Surrounding,

An Echo Peals,

Like Lark’s Song at Daytide,

Calling to All,

Singing for One.

.

.

In the Whirlwind of Autumnal Descent,

Falling like Auburn and Russet Tones, Dancing,

An Echo Tolls,

Falling like Auburn and Russet Tones, Dancing,

An Echo Tolls,

Like a distant bell, Heralding Hearts,

Entrancing All,

Ringing for One.

.

.

In the Hush of Midnight’s Magic,

Under the Caress of an Alluring Breeze,

An Echo Repeats,

Like the Cadence of a Summer Night,

Enticing All,

Whispering for One.

Intricacies – A-Z#Poetry

Space Belies no Limitless Ending,

Time Separates not from Eternity,

Chapters Spun in this Endless Frame

Cast Existence Upon a Wheel of Perpetual Clockwork,

Delving into the Intricacies of Speculation

To Commune with Deities

And Bend our Fragile Imaginations.

Balance – #Poetry #Collaboration

balance

.

This Balance –between your love,

And my love

Rocks of ages, still, serene, telling me

We are light—we are feathers

Suspended in our will, as one,

Against intrusion—

Just in perfect balance

You and Me!

Beneath the open reverence of the sky,

Singing Illusion to our Harmony,

I Embrace you

In Quietness,

In Tranquility;

Delicate transition of all my perplexity,

Listening to the Balance

You Imbue in me.

I hear you in the waves against the rocks

and in the wails of the gulls–

I feel your touch

in the silence of the rocks—quiet and sentinel

for millennia.

I hear you now, and I have heard you before

and I will hear you always, in these waves,

calling me, telling me–

I am yours.

This poem was written in collaboration with Zakiah Ali, a grandmother, a mother, a lover, and a retired physician, who lives in a small Illinois town, right on the River Mississippi. She was born in India, and moved to this beautiful country in the mid sixties with her husband to whom she has been married for 49 years!  Zakiah contacted me via my Write With Me page to suggest a collaboration and I was delighted to join her in writing this brief, yet lovely tribute to the ocean, nature and the calming effect it has on our spirits.  (Her parts of the poem are in italics)

Zakiah has a self published a book of poetry and flash fiction entitled Stray Thoughts/Winged Words, under her maiden name Zakiah Sayeed.
She has four amazing grandchildren, loves to read Urdu poetry and listen to Ghazals of great Urdu and Farsi poets; enjoys photography, painting, cooking Indian dishes and has even taken up playing Sitar again, after a hiatus of almost four decades. (I’d love to hear that, personally! Beautiful Instrument)   I hope you enjoy this verse and may stop by Zakiah’s blog to experience her lovely poetry for yourself!

In The Lime Light #AuthorInterview – When Kindness and Inspiration Unite

we-need-difference

.

Today’s Lime Light is with someone (I Hope) you already know very well, Erika Kind from http://www.erikakind.com, a blog where Kindness and Inspiration, Spirituality and Harmony Unite.  Erika was born in Vienna but grew up in another part of Austria and in the Principality of Liechtenstein (within the Swiss Alps) where she still lives. In 1998 she moved with her little family to the States and spent there a bit more than a year. She is a part-time working mom and running a Practice for Aromatherapy and Self-Development and next to being a singer and author. Oh, and she has had a tortoise for 32 years….now if that doesn’t intrigue you to keep reading, Im not sure what will!

Erika:  First of all, I thank you for inviting me to this interview, Morgan. I appreciate it very much because there is a lot of work behind. It is so kind of you to provide so many of us a platform to spread a bit more about us and about what we are doing. (Thank You Erika.  Its a Blessing and a Joy to Share these Inspiring stories with everyone)  But let’s get to your questions:

Please Introduce us to your Blog?  I started my blog because it was set up by my publisher in order to promote my book. I had no idea what blogging was about before and I even distanced myself from social media as far as possible. I had never thought that it became one of my greatest blessings!

What is it all about?  With one word: Inspiration! Whatever I write shall strike a chord within the reader. It shall make them hear a bit more of their own melody. Tragedies, destinies, challenges, daily life, disappointments, traumas make us forget about our own song. My blog shall make people hum it again automatically and over time even work on the composition consciously and joyfully to make it a musical.

What sorts of posts do you lean towards?  I have a clear schedule in order for my readers to know each day what to expect and to expect something every day.

Each Monday I write a longer post about something we encounter in our daily lives. I want to give another and/or a different view on those experiences. There is always a positive and encouraging message I share with those posts.

Tuesday is the day when I post a love poem. I wanted to dedicate one day deliberately to romance. I call it Romantic Tuesday. It wasn’t my intention to make it a challenge but meanwhile many friends joined in naturally and it is such a joy to share romantic feelings all over the place together.

From Monday to Friday I post one of my own quotes. Those quotes come to my mind through writing, through what I perceive during the day, or through the conversations with my community. On Wednesday I always post a guest quote of a fellow blogger.

Also from Monday to Friday I post a song. Just what I feel like, what I just heard, or what fits a certain situation.

I also love to post spontaneously in between when I have some time. Then I share information about other bloggers, what goes through my heart and mind or I talk about happenings in my life or surrounding.

What Inspires and stirs your creativity?  How can you make yourself see your light better? When you explain others their light. (Ha, that would make a lovely quote again…lol.) I want to make others feel their power and that inspires me immensely to activate my own power. Only when I feel what I write about I fill my posts with soul. So writing about the beauty of life inspires me to see the beauty in life. Encouraging others means that I must feel motivated in first place. I have come where I am today because I wanted to help others to overcome their limits. That forced me to overcome my own fears and limits and also led to my breakthrough 8 years ago.

What inspires me to the topics I write about is most of all what happens in my life, the interaction with my friends here on WordPress, and also what I read in other people’s posts. We are inspiring each other all the time through sharing a part of ourselves in our posts.

Erika was Generous enough to share one of her Inspirations with us, in the form of a Poem:

The Vow

On this day I promise you

To never leave your side

To be your inspiration

To be your healing light

Where you may go you can be sure

That I will always follow

We share it all – the smile, the bliss

The challenge and the sorrow

I will be loving you each day

As if it was day one

I want to show you how much I

Am proud that I’m your own

In me you’ll find the back you need

When things around get rough

I will take care of your old scars

Will heal them with my love

With me beside you be aware

That you will smile a lot

I want to show you how you’re loved

In you I see THE gift from God

Together we will do great things

That only love makes happen

United power and light we’ll spread

The Aponi and her Sachem

On this day I promise you

To never leave your side

Not even when I close my eyes

For this last but longest night

Its so obvious through these beautiful words those things you find easy to write about.  Conversely, what do you find difficult to write about?  Writing about myself… haha! Thank God, I promote a message and not my person! But back to your question, Morgan.  What can be really difficult is when it comes to other people’s personal tough life situations. Nobody can judge how another one feels about a situation. I hope that I have the sensitivity to touch the core but still not hurt someone. Whatever we are in right now is not where we are supposed to remain and for sure one day it will all look more colorful again. But when you are in the midst of a turmoil it is always hard and that has to be taken serious. I think being taken serious regarding a problem or regarding the way someone is dealing with it already helps to build up a new strength.

What Message, if any, do you hope to Share through your blog/posts?  See the miracle in you. ( I LOVE THAT!)  Feel the power you are. You have come here to expand yourself and make yourself visible through what you give of yourself. It is meant to be that you are here. You are unique and what you have to share is unique. Don’t be afraid to give share the gift of you. If you don’t do it, nobody does. You matter!

How has your blog helped you as a writer/Indie Author? What things have you learned along the way that you never anticipated?  Regarding my activity as an author: My inspiration (here we are again) grew immensely through what I read and again wrote. This year I published a quote book with a selection of 101 quotes like I post them 5 days a week. It would not have happened without my blog. Also the network to promote my book(s) has become very supportive.

Regarding blogging: I had never expected to find real friends that way. I believe that we meet everybody for a reason and that we are meant to meet certain people in our lives. Modern technology helps to get in touch with those people a lot easier these times… no matter where they are right now. I am thankful that I already met many of my blogger friends. I can confirm that each one of them is the way they also appeared on their blogs or in our conversations. I made friends for life here. At this point I want to thank you all for granting me your friendship!  To me the blogging world is an example of how the real world should be. We are interested in all others do. The differences are not separating but actually the connecting link.

This is why I invited Erika to talk with us today, because she’s amazing…isn’t she? Ok…now…Tell us about your book(s):  From 2010 until today I published 5 books.

What Inspired you to write your books?   It was the insight that fear (and all the limitations it brings) is only a conviction we are used to but not a truth. I realized that it was not my fears which limited me but I myself who reduced me to my fears. In that particular moment I saw myself in my past and my future. I saw what I forbid myself due to my beliefs, what was on the other side which was still waiting for me, and I saw myself standing between both. I understood clearly that it was my decision to take that step and not a permission I needed to get from anyone. I simply realized that nothing and no one could keep me from being who I wanted to be – unless I let them. This insight changed my life instantly. I wanted to share this feeling of power and liberation in order to make others see that feeling free and happy is not a gift but an attitude which brings you to all the places you have already seen in your visions. There is always a way. You only need to believe in it and take steps towards it – no matter what it is!   The result was my book I’m Free – Awareness of Who You Are by Discovering Who You Are Not!

From what Point of View do you prefer to write? Is there a reason?  When I read my first book of Wayne Dyer I experienced something very interesting. I only needed to open the book and I felt embraced and connected to a well of love. This opened me up even more for all the wonderful insights I read in that book. It made me feel good… good about myself. It encouraged me so much that I felt ready to start living what I felt as a deep truth.

It is my intention to ignite the reader’s inner flame in order to make them feel the power and loving force. It makes them change their lives because they changed their feeling about themselves.

Do you painstakingly plot out your story; are you a discovery writer or a bit of both? Why?   I am someone who needs to be organized and who wants to have a good overview. First I think about what message I want to give the reader. Then I break it down into headlines (chapters) and bring them into an order. That is my starting point. During writing on the chapters I get deeper into the subject and automatically add more chapters when they come to my mind. That way I don’t need to write the whole book from start to end but can pick the chapter title I feel most inspired to write about just then.

Share an insight or secret about your book(s).  The insight is the secret!

I write about what I discovered and I provide lots of examples from my life but also from others I witnessed for a better and deeper understanding. A phenomenon is that while I am writing on the chapters, life is sending me exactly the situations which match the chapters – not always very nice experiences. But that way I can add another profound example. It seems as if life wants to make sure that I really know what I write about… lol!

What do you feel is your best advice to share with other aspiring authors?  Don’t block your flow with writing what you believe the audience wants to read. Write what you want to share and let it flow the way you feel it. Then your words are filled with your heart’s energy. That is what makes your book YOUR book and what spreads the magic about your writing.

And now to the part we already know you would rather humbly bow out on, but we’re all fascinated, honestly…so do please tell us a little about YOU:

If you had to describe yourself to someone who has never met you, what might you say?  Be aware: I laugh often and loud…

#CharacterInterviews – A Demon’s View of Revenge – #FridayFantasy

madame

.

Character spotlights are a marvelous innovation, at least in my book(nvolume).  What better way, after all, to discover the nuances and little-known secrets our favourite characters conceal? By offering glimpses into the lives of characters, I hope to not only intrigue readers with tidbits of information they may not be able to glean from the character’s story, but provide an opportunity for (Indie) authors to reach a broader audience with fresh, unique material.  If you find yourself as titillated as I am by the potential in these Character Interactions/ Interviews, please do not hesitate to send me a message to inquire further or propose an idea.

So today we meet Madame Gormosy and Garrett from Devil’s Revenge by Jane Kohut-Bartels, which is her current Work In Progress.

Jane:  Very recently I was asked by Morgan to ‘interview’ a character from “Devil’s Revenge”.  This proved almost impossible, as the man I wanted to interview refused to stand still.  So I called upon Madame Gormosy, also a character in this novel to speak.  She has graciously done so and gives a good accounting of what was happening.  As she is also a Demon, please take what she writes with a grain of salt.

My name is Louise (Louis) Alphonse Margot Gormosy.  As you can read, I have the delicious talent to change my sex at will.  I am a Demon of Lust in the hierarchy of Hell.  There are many Demons of Lust down there, but they generally are stupid devils.  I, Madame Gormosy, am not. I appear in this novel at the bequest of Arch Duke of Hell, M. Abigor.  He too, is a Demon of Lust, but he is not stupid.  Non, he is not.  He is also a much respected Military Strategist and an ancient Healer.  He sends legions into battle and then he tries to stop up the wounds.  Of course, this is hardly the point, as all the ‘leadership’ in Hell have our own legions.  I, Madame Gormosy, have 60,000 devils to deploy at my whim. M. Abigor has many, many more, uncountable, but his hoof is close to the Throne.

When Bess, who is trying to write a book to end the conflict between M. Garrett and M. Obadiah, asked me to do this interview, I was pleasantly surprised.  She later told me that the interview was mostly intended for that scoundrel, M. le Demon, his mortal name Garrett Cortelyou.  I was not so happy with that. I will tell you a secret.  When I am in the form of M. Louis, Garrett is amiable.  We two have fought battles, have shared women, have caused much mischief over thousands of years, but he is unfortunately, uncomfortable when I violently shake my head and become “Louise”. Quel dommage! But he is a good soul (if Devils have souls) and we have each other’s back. Yes, and Devils have morals, after a kind.

garrett

This morning M. Garrett came in the room, nodded and listened to my request for this interview.  Mon Dieu!  He is a handsome man this morning!  He is tall, broad shouldered, with dark hair that is too long to be fashionable.   He is a formidable man and has many conquests.  He refuses to wear a wig and powder, so his hair is bound into a tail by a black silk ribbon.  He will not wear the silk stockings either in this century.  He wears trousers and boots, mostly. He has dark eyes that snap when he is angry.  I have seen the results of his temper over the centuries, and it can be impressive.  But he is not a cruel devil.  Non, in fact, if you must know… he is not a ‘proper’ demon.  His mother was mortal and his father?  Well, only M. Abigor knows for sure who his father is, and he is not telling.  But M. Garrett’s father must be a very important person in Hell and History, because he is treated almost like a son by M. Abigor.  And that status for any devil, is a much desired one.  M. Abigor is known for his own temper, but this is to be expected of Devils.  He can, if he so chooses, turn one into toast.

Garrett listened to my request for an interview, closing his eyes while I talked and then scowled and disappeared in a puff of smoke. He left the smell of brimstone in the room. I saw him walking towards the woods with a shotgun and a dog so I would believe he is out hunting this morning.  He could easily make a bird fall to earth with magic, but non, he forgets sometimes his bag of magic most devils have.  And of course, he is half human.  Not a proper devil at all. So, his magic is mostly of making ale and tea to appear, to levitating a chamber pot, and to appearing and disappearing at will.  This last is not good for an interview.  He is a tricky devil. He is also a sexy devil.

As I mentioned, I am here at the bequest of M. Abigor.  I am flattered that this exalted Demon would choose me, Madame Gormosy, to appear in this story. Bess (the author) might think she is controlling these events, but she is naïve.  She is mortal, and mortals can’t see much beyond their noses.

I was brought into this novel to give instruction to Bess.  As a mortal woman of the 21st century, she doesn’t have the standards or knowledge how to relate to M. Garrett or really any other Demon.  She is to be the consort of M. Garrett, and avec vous et moi? She is rather….stupid. All mortals are stupid compared to most devils.  Except the stupid ones.

Let me tell you how this mess started.  Bess, sixteen years ago (actually more like twenty six years) started writing a story.  She played around with these mortal characters, brought them to life, and then closed the book on them without finishing. I think she pinched M. Garrett’s tail.  Then, in 2006, she went back to the book, but she saw that she had written a very boring novel.  So, what to do?  She took a number of characters, M. Garrett and M. Obadiah, who hated each other and stupidly made them into devils.  Bon!  She continued the novel.  However, M. Garrett was furious that she had ‘closed the book on him’, (and dented his overreaching ego) and he did not spare his temper.  In fact, he did something that is not what a ‘civilized’ man would do. Of course, though, he is half demon so that would account for his action.  Bess fell in love with this devil (but who could withstand his charms?) and the story took off.  It was not a straight love story, though, of course not with demons around.  M. Obadiah, from the previous novel, made his appearance and the battle between the two men started all over again. M. Obadiah’s offense was intolerable.  He abused Bess in the vilest way, but this was just to get at M. Garrett. Those two are like two bulls fighting over the same pasture and heifers.  Mon Dieu!

I was commanded by M. Abigor, who has powers over all of us….Bess included, though she doesn’t know it yet, to tutor her in deportment.  Bess has had the standard education of a modern woman, but she knows nothing about the great French salons, the intellectuals and wits there, she has no idea of the power the Underworld over mortal dealings.  Sure, she knows of the power of the Church, but she knows much of nothing.  Since M. Garrett has declared her to be his consort, she must now learn how to deport herself.  She doesn’t know all the characters (mostly demons) she is interacting with, but soon, IF I can get her up to snuff…she will have tea with M. Abigor.  By then, perhaps this woman (who is not a young, spring chicken) will not disgrace us all.

I must say this:  What M. Garrett is focusing on, this great adventure to discover his father, his detour into Celtic history, is just a ruse by those more powerful than he.  They are called “The Others” and they have been around since the beginning of time.  They are more than Demons, they are Immortals.  Some of them come from the Nefarin, and some from cultures that have passed out of history.  But they are the Untouchables above us.

I, Madame Gormosy, think these “Gods” are playing with us all, but we have our tasks here on Earth and in Hell.  So, the fight continues between these two bulls with Bess the mortal woman between them.  I just don’t understand it, as Bess is not any Helen of Troy.  She is nice enough looking but her ignorance of life and history gets in the way. And, she can appear as a slob.  I have come in her rooms in the morning and I see her sitting with her elbows on the table, in dishabille, a mob cap almost over her eyes.  Mon Dieu!  What Devil (or man) can tolerate that in the morning?  But M. Garrett must be besotted with love because he just smiles at me.  And of course, Bess doesn’t have a clue as to who is pulling the strings of life.

Your faithful (as far as Demons can be trusted…) servant,

Louise Gormosy
