Comment on Fund Your Freedom: I’m Hiring a Marketing Lead by Daniel Daines-Hutt
Meh you’ll always get the people who complain about ANYTHING
I like how it says you’re hiring in the title
If I wasn’t working for myself I would jump at the chance, I’ve read your book and highly enjoyed it-will be sharing this opportunity and hopefully a friend jumps at it!

I like that a random, anonymous person tells you to what to do and to earn his/her respect.

I’m wondering if your reaction isn’t because I didn’t explicitly state the position was paid. If so, it is a paid position and that’s been added to the posting explicitly to clarify.

Comment on Hunt Your Sacred Cows: trend recognition for fun and profit by Casey Ames
Although I’m not the biggest fan of Socrates, he was the wisest man in Athens simply for knowing that he didn’t know anything

Who doesn’t need a good quarterly hunting trip?
Your comment made me think of an Anthony Bourdain quote that I wanted to include but couldn’t find a sport for:
“It seems that the more places I see and experience, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I become aware of, the more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I have still to go, how much more there is to learn. Maybe that’s enlightenment enough – to know that there is no final resting place of the mind,...

Comment on My Ten Most Influential Reads of 2015 by Taylor Pearson
Ooh, Have not heard of Lowenstein and I love Wall St. histories – adding it to my list!!
You’ll like both Kahneman and What I Learned. Kahneman is a SLOG though. His book is easily 20 pop psychology books worth of ideas.

chiming in…thanks TP, here’s my 2016 reading to-do’s: read “What I Learned Losing a Million Dollars”, and on this topic re-read Khaneman’s “Thinking Fast and Slow”, and I recomment to all Lowenstein’s “When Genius Failed”

Great post Taylor! This is definitely something I need to work more and more into my life. It almost always seems like I know something is true, only to find out how wrong I was typically by reading / talking with people much smarter than I am. I think I need to make sure my quarterly reviews are highlighting areas in my life where I may have a sacred cow that I am blind to… going hunting at least once a quarter.
