There’s no electricity right now so my phone’s about to die.
But I’d like to use the last three percent to muse about the sacred cow I’ve encount...

Comment on Jesus Marketing: How I Sold 5000 Books in Four Weeks As a First Time Author (With Less Than 700 Email Subscribers) by Taylor Pearson

1. Free was limited to Kindle.

2. If I had a funnel that I knew converted on the backend, I would totally give away free physical books. That was not the case for me.

3. I released the softcover (createspace) version at the same time as the free book. Some people prefer physical and bought even while kindle was free.

thanks for asking publicly and hope that helps!

1. Your process for providing access for free was limited to Kindle / ebook format correct? If not, did you just swallow the costs of soft/hardcover books as an investment?

2. Follow up: Do you think swallowing that cost is worth the trade-off, or untested / probably not?

3. If you did just offer free access to ebook format, when in the process did you release softc...

Great read! I find myself drawing a comparison between the hunting of the sacred cow and Joseph Campbell’s depiction of the hero’s journey which is another continuous and often lonely process of bringing the unconscious into the conscious (or the unknown into the known).

I got the point in 500 words; I embraced the cow for all 4,000.
