Totally agree about the density. The topic is very compelling and I do love your blog; especially that you reply to comments. Keep it up! You’re an inspiration!

Yea, I felt like it was a bit long too. The first draft was 6k words and I trimmed it down to ~4k but there’s still fat that could be trimmed. I think longer is better, but only if you can maintain the density.

P.S. Thanks!

I didn’t really realize that I am hunting a sacred cow .. at least not in these terms .. but I am. Among the many good points made in your article .. I find two that ring very true for me .. sitting in the tree can be a very lonely and isolating process and .. 2 .. I have to keep reminding myself that I ‘may’ not be as crazy as I sometimes seem to others [only time will tell]. A very insightful and enlightening piece .. thanks. PS ignore criticism to the contrary … anything less would have be...

Very interesting article, well written but a bit long. I think you made your point with two examples (Dalio and the mortgage guys). My advice? this is 4 articles in 1. But I love your passion and especially the point about the honorary degree being BS.

Great article, Taylor. Definitely my new favorite post on this blog! It reminded me of Peter Thiel’s famous question: what important truth do few people agree with you on? So essentially: what sacred cow have you killed?
But the last section is what resonated with me most. “However, the people that I admire are those who approach sacred cow hunting as an infinite game, a game which cannot be finished, but is won by continual play.” That is gold. Great stuff!

Great article. Especially your point “To kill one sacred cow, is to necessarily birth another”. I didn’t think of it that way, now in hindsight I’m definetly guilty of filling the void of some previous dogma (removed) with another potential “sacred cow”.

Wonderful piece, Taylor; all my friends and family discuss the topics you write about, to our own benefit and that of our children’s generation. You’re helping contribute to a wiser, more empowered culture with every word you write. Keep hunting those sacred cows!
