Comment on Disintermediation Theory (And, 5 reasons people complain instead of seeking disintermediation) by Taylor Pearson

I mean disintermediate whoever is putting you in a situation you don’t like.

E.g. If you want to write a book, don’t complain that publishers won’t publish it. Just self-publish the thing and get on with it :)

Comment on Disintermediation Theory (And, 5 reasons people complain instead of seeking disintermediation) by Danny Flood

Great article Taylor, and I loved the 5 Reasons People Complain, but I had a disconnect about the political metaphor and the “Seek disintermediation” bit at the end. “Disintermediation” is a way of saying “the people have the power,” so that’s what we’re seeking? Or follow Rizzo’s example and answer to no one? Or should we work to undermine those currently with power? Please clarify what “seek disintermediation” means and your conclusion.

Comment on You’ll Never Understand How to Become Successful by Petru Gaspar

A bit late to the party but here are my 2 cents on the topic: i believe that the reason why you cannot rationally explain success is because it comes from places of the unconscious mind like experience and more importantly that state of flow (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)) and this is exactly why you cannot be successful just by studying and trying to rationalise things, but only by going out there and doing things. As R. Williams eloquently says it in Good Will Hunting: “So...

Comment on Why Product Market Fit is Overrated (and what to focus on instead) by Casey Ames

Awesome stuff. Read this a bit ago, but was going through my notes again and wanted to come grab the evaluation sheet. Probably would get slightly higher opt-ins if you hosted the pop-up on the site rather than in a new tab hosted by LeadPages

Comment on Why Product Market Fit is Overrated (and what to focus on instead) by Taylor Pearson

Great comment, thanks for sharing! This in particular is a terrific framing: “to have PMF as your goal you are really saying I am ready for seeking to find a strategy for scalable growth”

Comment on Why Product Market Fit is Overrated (and what to focus on instead) by Iain Acton

Great read and thought provoking. Your concepts FMF and FPF are really great as stepping stones to help founders understand the real challenges ahead of them and questioning what do they really want to do and are they a good fit for it.

In my view, achieving product-market fit is an outcome of having a ‘validated strategy’ of being ready for ‘scalable growth’. It is the first milestone an investor really cares about because it tells her something is working that can provide her a return.

So...

Noted. It may have been an original quote then and he just attributed the idea behind it to Krishnamurti.

Great comment Marc, thanks!. I hate to give him the credit, but Rumsfeld’s “Unknown unknowns” is such a powerful idea. You just don’t know until it’s in motion.
