What Hope Means (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Himalayan Sonneteer: 100 Sonnets of Unsubmission

What do you think hope means,
To sit and do nothing!
Such is no hope but cowardice,
Real hope gets you walking.

Hope means to take charge,
Hope means unsubmission.
Hope means to not lose sight,
Hope means to cause illumination.

Life is what happens to the human,
Human is what happens to life.
Nature is what happens to the animal,
Human is the animal rising civilized.

I repeat, hope is no excuse for inaction.
Real hope brings emancipation from submission.

Blow Your Fuse (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Himalayan Sonneteer: 100 Sonnets of Unsubmission

What is the role of an electrical fuse?
Amateurs will say, conducting electricity.
But the actual task of a fuse is,
To blow itself when the load is too heavy.

Thus the fuse protects the appliance,
Against any electrical irregularity.
Likewise, we gotta blow our fuse,
Whenever inhumanity hangs heavy.

If we stay silent in indifference,
What’s the point of all this electricity!
Nerves that carry not vigor but ice water,
Ain’t no human nerves but sewers of society.

Human nerves are the life-circuit of society.
If they carry ice water, it is a catastrophe.

Homecoming Sonnet | Abhijit Naskar | World War Human: 100 New Earthling Sonnets

Salutations to all, today is my homecoming,
To dwell in grief is treachery on life.
I sought plenty escape in translations,
but true ointment lies in the soil of life.

So I return, shattering shackles of sorrow –
Reignite me oh life, resuscitate me unto duty!
I want no more to sob through the alleys of pity –
Sanctify me oh divine nature, with renewed tenacity.

Today I break all spell of ominous cowardice,
Today I vivify my veins as the volcanic vanguard!
I refuse to be castrated by pathetic redundancy,
Today I revive my vows as defender of the world!

“North, South, East, West, Abandon all primitive divide.” Abhijit Naskar, Tum Dunya Tek Millet: Greatest Country on Earth is Earth

You are unity, you are trinity,
You are the end of all animosity!
You are able, always accountable,
You are the measure of living sanity!

Live each day of your life,
as proof of love and oneness.
Cause inclusion defying prejudice,
You are the cure for divisiveness.

North, South, East, West,
Abandon all primitive divide.
Your culture is my culture,
Together alone shall we thrive!

“My dream is, one world family, not one world government.” Abhijit Naskar, Tum Dunya Tek Millet: Greatest Country on Earth is Earth

This earth is my home,
This earth is my dream.
Born in this earth’s soil,
To no sect I’ll ever give in.

Some dreams are too big for a town,
Some dreams are too big for a city.
My dream was too big for one country,
So I stood up and engulfed humanity.”

“My dream is one world family, not one world government – my dream is a world where civilians bear the responsibility for the affairs of their society according to their capacity and expertise, not some halfwit political overlords. The mission is to build a nonpartisan world, not to delegate all social responsibilities from countless little puny political nitwits to one giant global git.

“Keep struggling, o brave soldier – keep struggling till politicians become an extinct species and politics an extinct profession.” Abhijit Naskar, Greatest Country on Earth is Earth

Keep struggling, o brave soldier – keep struggling till politicians become an extinct species and politics an extinct profession. The mission is, not to replace old world mindlessness with new world mindlessness, but to put an end to all forms of brainless authoritarianism selected randomly on the basis of charisma and popularity by hysterical whim.

The mission, I repeat, is to build a one world family, not one world government. Till the very word “government” is nowhere to be found but in books on ancient tribal rituals, keep on struggling, O Sapiens Impossible!

“If you are not indigenous, you are an immigrant.” Abhijit Naskar, Tum Dunya Tek Millet: Greatest Country on Earth is Earth

On earth we are immigrants from Africa – out in space we’d be immigrants from Earth – in a different galaxy, we’d be immigrants from Milkyway. To put simply, in exploration of space, both external and internal, terms like immigrant and indigenous are meaningless. It’s the heart that makes us indigenous or immigrant, not blood.

“Even a whisper of love rings hurricane supreme.” Abhijit Naskar | Iman Insaniyat, Mazhab Muhabbat: Pani, Agua, Water, It’s All One

Be the living hope in action,
Not a couched coward of inaction.
Crushing all cowardice of detachment,
Get involved bravely till annihilation.

Wield forth your nerves of steel,
With your heart soaked in honey.
Wield forth your vision valiant,
With your feet grounded in humility.

When all blow the horns of hate,
When peace sounds absurd and dim,
Fear not and take a deep breath,
Even a whisper of love
rings hurricane supreme.

“When heart is frozen, all prayer is amiss.” Abhijit Naskar | Iman Insaniyat, Mazhab Muhabbat: Pani, Agua, Water, It’s All One

Forgetting head, heritage ‘n sanity,
I have placed you heartmidst.
I know not much prayer nor poetry;
When heart is frozen, all prayer is amiss.

We don’t need to believe in a grand design to be good people, but we do need to be good people to create a grand design. It’s neither about atheism, nor about the so-called religiousness – rather it’s about plain, ordinary humanness.

“Abandon divide, adopt but life. Contain the world in your chest of light.” Abhijit Naskar | Pani, Agua, Water, It’s All One

“Sonnet 1284

Human chest contains miracles of the cosmos,
Animal chest contains but the brutal jungle.
Choice is yours, what shall you facilitate –
a world of brutality or a world of miracle!

Be a miracle or be an animal, choice is yours;
In your veins brews the dream of civilization.
The world is in dire need of miracle humans,
There is no such thing as miracle animal.

This ribcage ends up a prison most times,
But it can also be a sanctuary – a paradise.
Entertain hate, and you are a prisoner;
Give in to love, lo you usher into light!

Abandon divide, adopt but life.
Contain the world in your chest of light.”
