Undoctrination Sonnet | High Voltage Habib

If we teach kids history,
They say we’re indoctrinating them.
If we immunize them against disease,
They say we’re microchipping them.
If we teach kids science,
They say we’re practicing blasphemy.
If we teach kids biology,
They say we’re messing with their identity.
With such mentality of a caveman,
How on earth did you manage to conceive!
I guess, to raise a human takes common sense,
But to make a baby takes only genital breach.
Hence it is more reason for reason to persevere.
There is no way we can let stone age reappear.

This is how we make all lives matter (The Sonnet) | Handbook of Hatebusting

Wherever a black life is shot of suspicion,
I am that black life that didn’t matter.
Wherever a woman is forced to remain pregnant,
I am that woman who doesn’t matter.
Wherever a muslim is presumed terrorist,
I am that muslim who doesn’t matter.
Wherever a queer life is persecuted,
I am that queer who doesn’t matter.
Standing up to cannibalism requires,
No exclusive background and identity.
All that matters is that you are human,
Only requirement of justice is humanity.
This is how we make all lives matter, all lives free.
Injustice on anyone anywhere is injustice on me.

I am all, that’s why I am one. | Divane Dynamite

You know why I put that “rag” on my head occasionally, even though I hold no compulsion for it?

Because in some parts of the world people are still medieval enough to deem us “ragheads” and “desert dwellers” as subject of fear, hate, mistrust and repugnance. I cannot change how these suited savages feel by retaliating hate with further hate. The only way I can expand anybody’s sight is by being the most exuberant raghead that ever lived.

We treat the worst of humanity by being the best of humanity. That is why I am raghead, that is why I am latino, that is why I am black, and that is why I am many more facets of human existence in one body. I am one, yet I am all. Or better yet, I am all, that’s why I am one.

Wherever someone is pushed to the wall, I am there. Wherever someone is kneed to the ground, I am there. Wherever someone is denied the freedom of choice and the freedom of love, I am there. Wherever someone is denied the common decency and dignity in life, I am there. For I am but a reflection of life oppressed, for I am but resuscitation of life oppressed, for I am but invigoration of life oppressed.

Aum Amen Assalaam (The Sonnet) | Mukemmel Musalman

I am not east, I am not west, I am the whole world. I have absorbed the good from every single culture of planet earth, and now the entire world courses through my veins as lifeblood. That is why, I am a human being – that is why, I am a whole human being.

“Aum Amen Assalaam (The Interfaith Sonnet)

Jo bole so nihal – honest, brave ‘n nondual!
Ain’t no human run by divisionism.
You may say Merhaba, or Hallelujah,
Smiling I respond, Walaikum Assalam.
Every human greeting is an act of peace,
Language differs, not the emotion.
Yet we keep bickering over language,
Overlooking all loving unison.
Chag sameach say some of us,
Some say happy holidays!
Across the words, into the heart,
We’ll find the flame of happiness.
Underneath every version of felicidad,
there is a sense of illumination.
Aim of all Aum and Amen – is unification.”

My World, My Family (An Excerpt) | Her Insan Ailem

“The struggle isn’t over till the last drop of tear is wiped out.

No matter what, I am not giving up – I am not giving up on this world. Because among all the planets across 2 trillion galaxies in our universe, this apparently insignificant little blue dot is my home – it’s my family. And I shall keep fighting, unarmed and unbending, for the rights of my family, for the peace and uplift of my family, so long as the four valves on my left keep working. Fighting is a good thing, if the reason is righteous. And there is no greater reason, no greater cause, to keep fighting, than for the welfare of our family. That is why, I am not giving up – no matter what, I am not giving up. I am not giving up on the welfare of my family – I am not giving up on my humankind.

Pase lo que pase, no me rendiré – no me rendiré con mi mundo. Porque, el hogar no es donde está el corazón, el hogar es donde el corazón se pierde. Y yo perdí mi corazón por mi familia mundial.

Walk La Solo Ray (Sonnet 1006) | The Centurion Sermon

Heart immeasurable is measure supreme,
All other measures are caveman’s dilemma.
What measured minds deem as blasphemy,
The immeasurable deem the end of myopia.
You can inherit money, not mind,
You can inherit cash, not character.
When heritage makes mind petrified of mind,
It is not heritage but a humanitarian disaster.
So what, if the measured don’t flock behind,
Like they frolic on the beaches of frivolity!
The sun above burns alone giving light to all,
While the hyenas below never run out of company.
Defy all old and new that desecrate the heart away.
Hearken to no inherited fear, and walk, la solo ray.

Sonnet 1008 | The Centurion Sermon

Helping a human is worth a hundred pilgrimages,
Conquer the heart, you’ll conquer the world.
More glorious than trekking a thousand mountains,
Is to trudge the distance from heart to heart.
You don’t conquer heart by acting on assumption,
You don’t conquer division by acting on ideology.
You don’t conquer hate by means of intellectualism,
You don’t conquer war by deploying more military.
Peace doesn’t happen by conference of ideology,
Peace happens through the confluence of sentience.
Integration doesn’t happen by boasting your culture,
But when you overlook yours to learn another’s ways.
Bury the dead along with all their artifacts of living.
Better a traitor to the dead than a traitor to the living.

Human Not Hyena (Sonnet 1012) | The Centurion Sermon

When all are charmed
by the comfort of dusk,
Rise up and write the dawn.
When savages find honor
in celebration of death,
Rise up and mow the lawn.
When baboons try to show strength
by filling up the graveyard,
Rise up and rob the hate.
When clowns behave like it is 2020 BC,
Rise up and write the world’s fate.
When hyenas commit cannibalism
in the name of national security,
Stand up as human and practice humanity.

Sonnet 1143 | Vande Vasudhaivam

Give me some sunshine,
Give me some rain!
Why the hell am I asking you,
When I’m the steward of my own reign!

Ship of society is sinking,
O Young and Bold, now hail the helm!
Come to the rescue of those lost at sea,
To hell with the nonsense of shame and fame!

My religion is to rescue the fallen,
My creed to care for the persecuted.
Faith, reason, nation, I heed none,
Obliterated in love heart is illuminated.

Shedding all fears both ragged and posh,
Let’s go play in the courtyard of the cosmos!

Justice Beyond Month (Sonnet 1182) | Visvavictor

Pride that ends with the end of June,
is but an episode of looney tunes.
Divergence that dies with April’s wake,
is no inclusion but bark of buffoons.

Black history that ends with the end of February,
is not solidarity but a hashtag cacophony.
Women’s history that ends with the end of March,
is no celebration but a sacrilege of equality.

When AAPI are only visible in the month of May,
It ain’t no visibility but a mockery of life.
When nativeness is welcome till October 15th,
It ain’t integration but desecration of light.

Awareness is justice when it reduces prejudice.
But one that’s trendy only in specific months,
is no awareness but a different kind of malice.

Acceptance is awareness, awareness is life.
100 calendars fall short to celebrate mindlight.
