A Fistful of Dust available now

I confess this caught me on the hop, but with a release with all four main publishers in the span of a month, one can hardly blame me (how did that happen?).

Check out the gorgeous cover and go to my website page to read the blurb and excerpt. Buy at Untreed Reads.

Get Lost in Inclination

Releasing at Changeling Press this Friday, 27th September. Lost in Inclination now has its own page.

Note the content of this is a little different for me. I hope readers enjoy. Definitely not one for the in-laws.

My next release will be A Not So Hollow Heart, which seems to be on track for its Oct 1st release.

Back and Forth, and Seeing Orange

Lots happening on the home front of which I can’t comment while things are proceeding. All I can say is this is for a stressful time for us, but I am writing when able.

I’m also editing, a lot.

Lost in Inclination is ‘done’ — I have the finals and it’s out within days. I need to choose an excerpt and hope to do so today. Just haven’t had a chance. The content on this one is a little unusual for me, but it bugged me to write it and I finished the first draft a long time ago and shelved it. Rather than let it languish I decided to have it published, and was 99% certain Changeling would be interested. They wanted a longer length on it, but I was out of ideas, and they still took it; they simply didn’t want to let this one go.

A Not So Hollow Heart is at the formatting process and on schedule. Again, I need to choose an excerpt.

I’ve just returned first round edits on Seduced by a Legend. This is a tight schedule. There have to be second round edits, line edits, proofing before it goes to publication on the 18th October. I am biting my nails, although the work is a novella and there wasn’t a lot that required attention. This round down, the rest should mostly be a formality, but as this is my gay version of Sleepy Hollow it has to go out in time for Halloween.

And there are other things. Other works, edits, life stresses. Speaking of which, this week’s blog is all about ‘Seeing Orange‘ (as opposed to red). Feel free to take this letter, and adapt it to suit your needs should you have a similar problem.

TRR Review for Acting Out

A 5-star review for Acting Out from ‘The Romance Reviews‘:

“The story draws you in, this dance the two of them have towards Alex seducing Nick both into making the film and into becoming his lover, as both men discover exactly what it is they want and need from each other. I love Alex’s confidence, his dominance and his yearning to teach Nick what being a gay man is all about. I love Nick’s shyness and his eventual letting go of his inhibitions to realize what he has been all along.

The two men are charming, hot, sexy and the story flows along at a fast pace, delivering surprises and insights into the two men and their lives which I really enjoyed. I loved getting to know Nick’s family and his disapproving brother Charles, and I LOVED Nick’s dad and his understanding and love for his son. And Alex and Nick’s first lovemaking scene was warm, tender, hot and just right. There are some funny lines, some emotional moments and a lot of wonderful, warm fuzzy feelings for me in this book.”

My thanks go to Susan Mac Nicol for a fabulous review.

Update August 2013

I’ve recently returned second round edits of A Not So Hollow Heart, a m/m novella set after a zombie apocalypse, which will be published by Loose id. I’ve not worked with them for some time, so have a new editor who not only seems good, but is aware of UK/US differences, which makes the work easier. I may have to compromise in a few places where I’d rather not, but that’s part of publishing…and I’ve also managed to get my own way in a few cases. *g* I’ve thanked management for pairing me with her. The book is due for release on the 1st of October.

I’ve also approved the draft of the cover but can’t reveal it until I receive the final files. Watch this space. I’m extremely pleased with it.

The 18th of October should see the release of Seduced by a Legend from Musa Publishing. Although this is a m/m title and does contain some explicit content it’s a far more literary work. In short, it’s my version of a gay ‘Sleepy Hollow’. The writing is definitely literary, and it’s also funny — at least, I intended it to be, and I had my editor rolling with laughter, which is surely a good sign. Whether readers will be so inclined is another matter, but this is one of my favourite things I’ve written. I love the story, and I love the style, and the writing. Yes, I know I’m praising my own writing here, but I am especially delighted. *unashamedly hugs self* This is a rare title in that I would include it in my mainstream work as well romance despite the sexual content.

Hard Pressed (Calm and Chaos 2/companion book to C&C1) features a subsidiary character from the first novel and owing to a ‘technical’ hiccup is now scheduled for release on 29th November.

I’ve another new contract. Changeling Press has taken a short story of mine to publish as a ‘hot flash’. More on Lost in Inclination as soon as I receive word on edits, anticipated release date, etc.

In non-romance: I’ve returned edits on A Fistful of Dust (Space 1889), my single authored title that is the fifth book in season two. All I can tell you about this right now is that my editor was very pleased (my editor being Andy who co-authored book two with me).

I’ve also had a short story accepted by Night to Dawn Magazine. Night Train will appear in issue 26 I believe, and I think issue 24 is the current one out. Unfortunately, it’s an American magazine so obtaining hard copies for my UK readers is problematic, but I think it will be available as digital. Details as and when I have them.

And that’s about it. Next on my agenda is to write some more for Changeling Press. I’ve a ms of another book I will likely put out at Loose id drafted (needs a serious edit before I submit), and I have non-romance projects that I’m equally working on. I’ve also relaunched my Blogspot blog and am trying to update this regularly on Mondays. Busy busy busy, but you knew that!

Anticipated Release Dates

For those who have been asking, I have ‘anticipated’ release dates for Hard Pressed, and Seduced by a Legend.

Seduced by a Legend is, timely (considering the plot/setting etc), set for 18th October, but Hard Pressed won’t be available until 29th November. Sorry to keep you waiting, but at least I have a schedule to keep in mind, and know when to chase things up now.

For those who may be interested in joining me on my recent travels, this week’s entry over at my Blogspot is A Postcard from Norway. The previous post was A Postcard from Iceland.

Seduced by a Legend has a cover

And another big reveal. Seduced by a Legend has a cover, which explains what the title doesn’t. I have no details regarding a release date yet, by for obvious reasons it may well be around Halloween.

Ignatius is about to be seduced by a legend.
