Update August 2013

I’ve recently returned second round edits of A Not So Hollow Heart, a m/m novella set after a zombie apocalypse, which will be published by Loose id. I’ve not worked with them for some time, so have a new editor who not only seems good, but is aware of UK/US differences, which makes the work easier. I may have to compromise in a few places where I’d rather not, but that’s part of publishing…and I’ve also managed to get my own way in a few cases. *g* I’ve thanked management for pairing me with her. The book is due for release on the 1st of October.

I’ve also approved the draft of the cover but can’t reveal it until I receive the final files. Watch this space. I’m extremely pleased with it.

The 18th of October should see the release of Seduced by a Legend from Musa Publishing. Although this is a m/m title and does contain some explicit content it’s a far more literary work. In short, it’s my version of a gay ‘Sleepy Hollow’. The writing is definitely literary, and it’s also funny — at least, I intended it to be, and I had my editor rolling with laughter, which is surely a good sign. Whether readers will be so inclined is another matter, but this is one of my favourite things I’ve written. I love the story, and I love the style, and the writing. Yes, I know I’m praising my own writing here, but I am especially delighted. *unashamedly hugs self* This is a rare title in that I would include it in my mainstream work as well romance despite the sexual content.

Hard Pressed (Calm and Chaos 2/companion book to C&C1) features a subsidiary character from the first novel and owing to a ‘technical’ hiccup is now scheduled for release on 29th November.

I’ve another new contract. Changeling Press has taken a short story of mine to publish as a ‘hot flash’. More on Lost in Inclination as soon as I receive word on edits, anticipated release date, etc.

In non-romance: I’ve returned edits on A Fistful of Dust (Space 1889), my single authored title that is the fifth book in season two. All I can tell you about this right now is that my editor was very pleased (my editor being Andy who co-authored book two with me).

I’ve also had a short story accepted by Night to Dawn Magazine. Night Train will appear in issue 26 I believe, and I think issue 24 is the current one out. Unfortunately, it’s an American magazine so obtaining hard copies for my UK readers is problematic, but I think it will be available as digital. Details as and when I have them.

And that’s about it. Next on my agenda is to write some more for Changeling Press. I’ve a ms of another book I will likely put out at Loose id drafted (needs a serious edit before I submit), and I have non-romance projects that I’m equally working on. I’ve also relaunched my Blogspot blog and am trying to update this regularly on Mondays. Busy busy busy, but you knew that!
