TBT - Today in History 8/27

Today is the birthday of Robert Lee Vann. He was an African American publisher, lawyer, and editor. Quite an eclectic resume. In case you'd love to learn more, check out this post .

Also, today in history marks the opening of Audrey Hepburn's first starring role, Roman Holiday. I thought this was an interesting tidbit because I love classic movies. My favorite movie of Ms. Hepburn's is Sabrina. Of course, I love the remake with Harrison Ford as well. Here's a great post.

My Week TBR Pile - 8/24 - 8/28

I wanted to share my latest TBR pile. You know as one book goes, more get added. Interesting enough, I have a TBR pile of books by authors I've not read yet. (Exception is Ms. Oke.)

Review: "A Sweethaven Summer" by Courtney Walsh

This weekend I lounged around with a book in my hand. Of course that was after walking around the National Zoo. Fortunately, it wasn't that hot and I didn't melt.


Anyway, I checked out "A Sweethaven Summer" from my local library. I've read Ms. Walsh's novel,"Paper Hearts," which I really loved so I picked this one up.

Review: "A Reluctant Assassin" by J.C. Morrows

So what's better than reading a book? Reading a book you won!! I was fortunate to win an Advance Reader Copy of J.C. Morrow's "A Reluctant Assassin" Can I just say now itwas an amazing read.
