How to be Radically Healed
God has always been in the miracle-working business. When I think of how Jesus healed people I get so many images in my mind.
The woman pressing in to touch the hem of His garment
Blind Bartimaeus crying out from the side of the road outside Jericho
The ten lepers begging to be made clean
The little girl who was brought back to life
The paralyzed man lowered through the roof of a home
But one miracle always touches my heart, and from it, we can learn the basic truths about this wonderful gift from God.
So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
John 4:46-53
There are principles embedded in this account that will help us understand and receive radical healing
Affliction brings us to Jesus
It’s sad but true that many people never think about Jesus until tragedy strikes. Many professing Christians wouldn’t think of spending an hour in prayer—until they have a life-or-death need.
The centurion probably wouldn’t have walked twenty-five miles to see Jesus if his son wasn’t sick. That’s what it took for him to hunger after God, and it may be what it takes for you or someone you love.
If you are praying for a loved one to be released from a bad situation, keep in mind that perhaps God is using it to getting their attention. Pray not just that the bad thing is removed but that it will bring them to Jesus.
There is no distance in the power of faith
Jesus never met the centurion’s son, as far as we know. They didn’t look each other in the eye. Jesus didn’t physically touch him, and yet the boy was healed.
Some people want to wait until they have a vision or a sign from above to summon their faith for healing. They want personal attention—a touch, a prayer with hands laid on their sick body. But it doesn’t always happen that way.
If you have loved ones that are suffering far away, your prayers can be just as powerful as if you were holding their hand. Healing prayers can circle the globe without losing an ounce of effectiveness.
We must believe without visible evidence
Imagine what kind of thoughts this centurion must have had on the way home. The devil was probably right in his ear saying, “You walked all that way for nothing. Your son is probably dead by now. What kind of father are you, going twenty-five miles away when your son needed you? You’re never going to see him again.”
But he kept walking and believed the word of Jesus!
If you are waiting and believing for healing, the difficult time comes when there is no indication of the healing; when Jesus says, “Go, it has been done” — but you see no proof of it.
Hebrews 11:1-2 says faith will be our evidence. Faith became the centurion’s evidence. He had nothing else to hold onto. He didn’t need to see with his physical eyes because he believed in the invisible evidence laid out before him!
Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders … you will never believe.
John 4:48
God doesn’t want us to rely on signs and wonders, or things seen with our physical eyes. He wants us to let faith be our evidence. We should let faith rise up inside of us and say, “Thus saith the Lord: I shall live and not die!” If you are believing for healing, you have two choices: believe in the sickness or believe in the cure. The cure is Jesus and His promise that by His stripes we are healed.
Let that be your evidence!
Faith always involves an action
In receiving healing from God, passive faith is dead faith.
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead
James 2:26
Faith is reaching out and laying hands on the sick. Faith is the sick person believing that the moment hands are laid on him, that he is beginning to recover.
How do you take action? By doing something you couldn’t do before. If you couldn’t bend over and touch your toes, by faith, start bending over and touching your toes. There is only one way faith can be seen and that is by doing. If you believe you are healed, begin to act like you’re healed. Talk like you are healed. Walk like you are healed.
When Jesus told the centurion to go home, the man obeyed without saying, “Could you verify that for me?” He acted.
Let your body and mind act in accordance with your faith, and begin doing not just believing. The moment you believe God is the moment your miracle is dispatched, even if it takes time for you to see it come to pass.
Healing doesn’t happen the same way all the time
Jesus healed in a variety of ways. Sometimes He did it from a distance. Sometimes He laid hands on the sick. Sometimes He healed them before they died, and sometimes after they were in the grave.
I have seen people healed when they were anointed with oil, or during the worship time without anyone praying for them. I have known others who were healed at their homes, in their cars and while at work.
One time Jesus spat on the ground, made mud with His saliva and rubbed it on the eyes of a blind man (John 9:6)! Sometimes he gave a command to drive the sickness out; sometimes He told people to go to the temple and their healing would happen there.
There are principles of how healing works, but there is no single formula. God can use any method He chooses. Be open to the creative way He wants to heal you!
Faith is contagious
So he and all his household believed.
John 4:53
The faith of the centurion led to the salvation of his whole family! This happens all the time in churches across America. The faith of a father frequently leads to the conversion of an entire family.
Remember the jailer from Philippi in the book of Acts? He and his whole household believed after he experienced a miracle.
When you are healed, your faith will spill over to unsaved loved ones. You will have an opportunity to share at family gatherings or over the backyard fence about what God did for you, and the proof will be irrefutable. Your situation will be a sign and wonder for people, causing them to think on the things of God and come to salvation.
Your healing will become contagious!
God heals for a purpose
Many times when Jesus healed someone they immediately latched onto a purpose. When Jesus came to Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law sick with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on them. She immediately became a servant. She used the energy and wholeness God gave her to wait on the King of kings.
When Jesus healed the demonized men in the tombs of the Gadarenes, they begged to follow Him but He told them to go into their village and tell everyone what God had done for them. He enlisted them as preachers!
Maybe you want to be healed so you can walk again. Or go outside. Or work full-time without a great deal of pain. Or pick up your grandchild.
Jesus wants those things for you, too. But He also has a larger purpose for you—to turn you into a servant and preacher of the gospel! I’m certain that the centurion told everyone he knew about Jesus after his son was healed. I can’t imagine him sitting on the information!
What does God have for you to do? What purpose is on the other side of your healing? God intends your healing to be for His glory in a way you can’t fully imagine. Be open and available to new ways of service for Him after He heals you.

You are a hero!
In 2017 you helped SGM and Dave Williams Ministries give more than $225,000 in grants, scholarships, and resources. If you’re one of our financial partners, YOU MADE IT HAPPEN!
Students, college campuses, inner-city children’s ministries, and young pastors all benefited from your generosity, and I know this will be become “fruit to your account.” Mary Jo and I praise God for you for sharing the vision God gave us back in 1987 of how training pastors and children properly will bring huge changes in our churches and even in our society.

Southwest Radio Ministries
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of discussing my books Skill for Battle and The Jezebel Spirit with Dr. Larry Spargimino from Southwest Radio Ministries out of Bethany, Oklahoma. Larry told me “Our whole office is reading your Jezebel book. The President of SWRC has been reading it as well and loves it.” Listen to the interview here.
Both books are selling wildly for the radio station. They even needed to order another crate to fulfill all the orders. Get both books for just $15 (24.94 value!)
Dr. Jack Van Impe’s Fresh CallingEverywhere I travel people ask me about Jack Van Impe and wonder how he’s doing. We are have been great friends for a long time, this photo is from 23 years ago!
Mary Jo and I were with Jack and Rexella just before Christmas, and I can report to you that he has received a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit to tell the nations that Jesus Christ is coming! After battling a serious heart condition, being in a coma for two months, breaking his hip in four places, suffering rehabilitation, the devil ended up losing and Jesus Christ won again!
Now, approaching 90 years of age, Jack had a supernatural experience with the Holy Spirit beginning in August 2017 and continuing to this day. The Holy Spirit has called Jack to preach the Second Coming of Christ to the entire world. On May 14, 2018 (The 70th anniversary of Israel as an official regathered nation), Jack is going to make a stunning announcement to the entire world about the coming of Jesus Christ. He has contracted with radio stations, shortwave, and every means possible to make sure every inch of the planet is covered for this earth-shaking announcement on May 14, 2018.
Drs. Jack and Rexella now record TV shows every week on their YouTube channel. You can keep up with end-time news at JVIM.com and also contribute to the ministry there to help this prophetic voice ring around the world! 7.6 billion people on the planet need to know the truth of salvation only through faith in the shed blood of God’s son, Jesus Christ!

2018 Prophecy
I know many of you, like me, have faced disappointments, and discouragements in 2017. Some have almost reached the state of hopelessness. But, Jesus Christ Himself is breaking the grip of satanic assignments against your life and family NOW! God is breaking through to give you fresh alignments and fresh assignments that will advance His Kingdom and accelerate your life.
This may be an encouraging word for you that was sent to me from a precious pacesetting prophet in India who loves our ministry:
Pastor Dave, I heard the Spirit of God say to me very clearly, “2018 will be the year of BOUNTIFUL HARVEST.” I started asking God for the Scriptural reference, and He gave me Psalm 65:11(NLT). “You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.”
God is empowering you for 2018! All the limits will come to an end; God has been aligning you for your next season. You are positioned for ‘BOUNTIFUL HARVEST! There is a fresh wind of God that is blowing over the Church. God wants to accelerate His presence and power in your life and in the life of your family and ministry.
Get ready for open doors of favor and supernatural provision; position your heart and spirit for it. Spend time with God and let your heart be saturated with His Word. – SKP, India
Mary Jo and our team are very grateful for your love and support as together we are bringing training and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to America, Africa, and Asia.

Success Always Leaves Tracks
Success always leaves tracks. When I was a young, inexperienced minister, I studied 20 successful churches later expanded my research to 120. I was astounded to find 12 tracks every fruitful, growing ministry had left behind twelve simple principles. I applied them, and we grew from 125 members to over 100,000 globally.
Wealth always leaves tracks too, and after studying many wealthy people and businesses, I learned some things about wealth. I learned that wealth is an art requiring creativity and intuitiveness. Wealth is also a science with fixed laws—they work for “whosoever” will apply them.
My friend and author of Upward, Judy O’Leary, one day asked God why some wicked people seem to prosper while some of God’s people seem to lack. The Lord answered, “Judy, it’s because they are applying my principles and many of My people are not.”
Jesus said, God causes the sun to shine on the wicked and just alike. If the wicked apply God’s principles, they’ll get good results.
Let me share nine wealth tracks that will help you embrace the art and science of wealth and follow the footprints of those who’ve gone to a level where you’d like to go.
Track 1: Love people; use money
Love people; use money—not the other way around
Track 2: First Love
Money can be consuming and deceiving if it becomes our first love
Track 3: Begin Now
You can begin now building toward your fortune, no matter where you are financially
Track 4: Inner Domain
Your inner domain (what you think about most) will become your outer expanse.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Proverbs 23:7
You have to be a millionaire on the inside before you become a millionaire on the outside (or you’ll lose it.) You must be born again inside first before changes come outside
Track 5: Time
You don’t have enough time in your life to figure it all out
That’s why you need mentors. Great mentors leave their tracks in books and audio presentations. You can ride with them daily in your car.
Track 6: The Law of Connection
Wealthy people practice the law of connection.
A great example of the law of connection is found in 1 Samuel 22 concerning David’s men.
“And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.”
They got a connection with an anointed man, and David became their financial deliverer.
You can start with nothing—or less than nothing, with a negative net worth, and with a connection to a financial deliverer, break the patterns of the past and come into a new financial place.
When Mary Jo and I needed to go to a new level financially, we first made a stronger connection financially with The Great Commission, but we also made a financial connection with a multi-millionaire named Joe Gandolfo, a stellar financial man. We couldn’t afford it, but we planted a $1,000 seed into Joe, spent an entire morning in a private meeting. After that connection, in just a short season our finances went to a whole new level.
Are you connected to a financial mentor? Someone who is already where you want to go?
Track 7: Small things make a big difference
God said, “Don’t despise the day of small beginnings.” Small things in customer service or member care make a huge difference in how people feel about you and whether or not they will support you or be a loyal customer.
A few small things in a small business can make the difference between an income of $100,000/year or $700,000/year.
If the average small business owner applies just a few little things consistently, 1% more effort tending to certain little things, like customer service, he or she will likely enjoy seven times more than average income each year. How about one extra percent in growth for the month? Do you think that would make a significant difference?
Track 8: Be visible
Craig Wieland said the reason his barbeque restaurant failed is because it was “one block off Main Street.” In other words: “out of sight, out of mind.”
Jesus remarked in Luke 11:33, saying, “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.”
Do you have something great for your customer or members? Let them know. Don’t rely on one internet ad, Facebook post, or an obscure poster stuck up somewhere.
Advertise, but do it right. Motivate people to your event or business by showing what’s in it for them—the benefits.
Track 9: Most wealthy people and millionaires are grateful
Jim Rohn said this was a primary characteristic of really successful people. Are you grateful or are you complain-ie?
Remember, it’s often just a few little things that can make the difference between $100,000/year and $700,000/year or even over a million a year in your business.
There you have nine of the tracks left behind by some of the wealthiest people who have graced this earth. Will you follow in their footsteps?

Staffing Issues
As a pastor, you need a faithful team of dedicated men and women, both paid and lay staff, to help you achieve the vision God has called you to.
Here are some helpful points:
1: Get the Right Person. You need harmony; not tension
2: Make sure they agree with and submit to:
Your doctrines of the pastor
Your philosophy of ministry of the pastor
Your vision of the pastor
And be committed to your encouragement
3: A staff member must understand the purpose of a staff
Shepherd’s Banner (identifying the Shepherd’s territory)
Shepherd’s Rest (lean on)
Shepherd’s Refreshment
Beat away wolves
Rescue erring sheep
Scare away snakes or kill them
4: Make sure every staff member understands that they are representatives of you, the pastor.
They’re not representing the congregation to the pastor, but the pastor to the congregation.
5: Try to staff a position with someone you trained
Pick someone from your church first, and don’t feel you have to rush. That’s where we end up making big mistakes. People that have been with you a long time, and have proved themselves faithful, already have your DNA.
6: Set clear requirements
I developed nine general requirements for staff
Servant-heartedness: make the pastor’s job easier, be a helper; a load-lifter to the Pastor, develop the team concept
Teachable attitude: demonstrating willingness to learn and grow and continually developing and improving skills
They must be close to Jesus, spiritual, host mature attitudes and maintain moral purity and Foster a good, stable home situation
They must exhibit creativity, find workable, practical solutions to problems and discover ways to increase and expand their responsibilities
They have to walk in integrity and possess high-level commitment/loyalty; speaking the best about you and other staff members, and in maintaining confidentiality
They must project the image of quality, in proper dress, organization, and stay alert to details.
They need to exhibit the faithfulness factor
Loyalty
Diligence
I enjoyed mostly long-term staff members over my 30+ years as pastor of Mount Hope Church in Lansing, but sometimes you have to deal with terminating an employee or staff member. I know it’s not easy, but it will end up being worse for the church if you don’t.
So, you’ll want to publish to all employees and staff members what could cause a dismissal, a termination from their position.
For example, it might say:
Insubordination
Breaking church office confidences
Absence without authorization
Constant complaining
Attitudes corruptive to workforce
Disharmony with pastor
Falsifying church information, records or documents
Incompetence
Failing to promote love, unity, and peace in our church
Undermining or maligning church leadership in any way
If termination is necessary, it must be immediate. You can simply say, “I’m sorry, we are eliminating your position and have to terminate your employment.” Make sure you immediately take their keys, allow no more church computer usage, and take their cell phone if it is church provided.
Offer severance pay with clear conditions. For example, “We will send you two month’s severance pay if you do not contact any members, and if you leave town within a month.”
I hope you never have to experience the pain of terminating a staff member. I only had to do it a couple times in all my years. But if you do, do it quickly, and don’t say too much to others except your official board.

12 Rocket Engines to Launch your Ministry
Picture your ministry as a rocket with 12 engines. The success of your rocket depends on igniting all 12 at once and checking to make sure they continue to operate efficiently. When all these principles are applied, you will find they have a synergistic effect on your success, and your ministry will abound more than you ever dreamed possible. These 12 principles seemed like the rocket engines that lift a ministry off the launching pad and push it into successful orbit. I call them “the 12 rocket engines of successful ministry.”
There is a direct relationship between missions giving and growth—both in numbers and in finances.”

Silence and Darkness?
Just recently the Wall Street Journal, as well as the Daily Mail and other news sources, reported on North Korea’s threat of an Electro-Magnetic pulse (EMP) attack on America. In fact, two recent missile tests in North Korea reached 300 miles into space, the exact distance necessary to detonate a pulse that would devastate an entire country.
The prophet Isaiah issued a warning to a godless nation predicting that it would, “Sit in silence, and go into darkness.” (Isaiah 47:5)
This precisely describes an EMP event. Silence and darkness.
During the U.S. Presidential debates of 2016, one presidential candidate addressed the serious potential of an EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) attack on the United States.
An EMP attack would wipe out the nation’s electrical grid, all electronics, all vehicles with electronic systems, and all electric pumps. It would create literal “silence and darkness.”
With North Korea in possession of nuclear weapons, and given the radical and unstable government of Kim Jong Un, it’s all in the realm of possibility. Fox, ABC, and CNN have all reported on North Korea’s threats of war with the United States.
In the Book of Revelation, we are told that during the Tribulation the world will not only experience spiritual darkness but literal darkness. How can darkness come to a nation in a nanosecond? An EMP attack is certainly one possibility.
Imagine that you and your spouse decide to take a vacation far from home. You have grown children and grandchildren, and you are now retired. Suddenly, a solar flare or an explosion over your location brings an electromagnetic pulse that completely neutralizes all batteries, all electronic equipment, cell phones, electronic notebooks, everything that has anything to do with electronics and electricity. The electrical grid is fried, inoperative. There is no radio, no television, no phone service, no Internet, no vehicles moving.
What are you going to do? How long would it take you to walk back home? Such an event would devastate any country. It would take months or even years to get communications and transportation back up and running.
With Iran on the path to nuclear capabilities, and a stated agenda to destroy Israel as well as all western civilization, and with North Korea making these severe threats, the scenario could be getting closer.
It’s time for pastors to preach the ancient prophecies that point to our day. It’s time to call for genuine repentance and a whole-hearted turning to God now. One day it will be too late. For now, there is still time to prepare.

The Art of Spiritual Warfare In the Old Testament, King David’s life was marked by battles. David’s battles were significant—they were fought over land and power, and God gave him victory. Today, our battles are more significant and the stakes are higher. People’s souls hang in the balance. Will you trust the Lord to prepare you for this battle? Will you enlist as a soldier in this spiritual war? This book is a manual for recognizing the enemy and will show you how to wield the weapons that God provides to victory.
I had the privilege of discussing my books Skill for Battle and Jezebel Spirit, on Southwest Radio with Larry Spargimino. Dr. Larry Spargimino is co-host of the broadcast and joined the ministry in 1998. Larry researches and writes books and articles for the ministry, writes the Q&A section in the Bible in the News, assists on tours, and helps answer listeners’ theological questions when they call the ministry.
