Air Asia Philippines - Consumer Fraud Against Travelers
Air Asia Philippines engages in ongoing consumer fraud against travelers to, from and throughout the Philippines by ensuring the airline's website does not always work when making flight bookings to hinder travelers from paying for their luggage at the time of booking (which should cost 400 pesos). Thereby Air Asia Philippines defrauds travelers at the airport by charging travelers 690 pesos for the same piece of luggage, if and only if they check the bag in 4 hours early. Otherwise, as most travelers do not arrive 4 hours before the time of a departure, Air Asia Philippines will charge travelers 1,250 pesos to check a single piece of luggage under the plane when traveling with the heartless airline defrauding travelers.
Today, on flight Z2 782 (Cebu to Manila) November 20, 2023 Air Asia Philippines changed the flight departure time twice (once earlier by email saying the flight would leave at 9:30am and then later at the airport changed the flight departure to 10:35am). No consistency or integrity at this airline.
I was unable to pay for luggage online when booking the ticket with AirAsia as the website was not working nor cooperating. Moreover, today at the airport the "manager" Candy Phila was nowhere to be found to resolve the problem. Instead the Air Asia Philippines reps John Dave Rana and friend just strong armed and forced me to pay excessive fees to the airline for one single piece of luggage weighing 14.5 kg.
Air Asia earlier in the year when I was in the Philippines from June to October, damaged over $600 USD of my luggage, all of which was marked with fragile stickers. Yet Air Asia Philippines did nothing to reimburse me and make it right, following their negligence and grossly damaging my luggage beyond repair. I filed complaints with Air Asia Philippines and the Better Business Bureau in the United States documenting the fiasco, but Air Asia Philippines did absolutely nothing. Travelers therefore should be forewarned when choosing which airline to travel with to, from and throughout the Philippines.
I have traveled to the Philippines 25 times and throughout the magnificent nation. I also have traveled to 90 nations worldwide and am well aware of how the airline industry works, the legal regulations within the airline industry and the duty of care which airline executives, reps and the airlines themselves must comply. The airlines in the Philippines however operate many scams and pricing schemes to screw travelers out of their hard earned money, ensure flight delays, changes in gates, and confuse travelers to ensure they miss their flights, after which the airlines charge penalties and excessive rebooking fees.

Philippine Airlines Customer Complaints
Today, upon arriving to the Mactan Airport in Cebu, Philippines I witnessed another layer of fraud occurring at Philippine Airlines.
Philippine Airlines representative Kim Beverly Lacambra informed me when I was checking in my one suitcase that I had to pay for 10 kilograms (because my plane ticket only allowed me 10 kilograms for my suitcase). That is funny and ironic, because most suitcases weigh between 5 to 10 kilograms. Keep that in mind before flying on Philippine Airlines.
Kim later informed me because I arrived three hours early I could avail a 2,000 pesos luggage option rather than pay 350 pesos per kilo, which would have cost me over 4,000 pesos. However Kim also informed me I actually should only be charged 400 pesos, but that would require me to buy the allowance four hours before departure.
While I appreciate the Philippine Airlines rep Ms. Lacambra informing me of these matters, I am greatly disturbed and frustrated with Philippine Airlines for not fully advising passengers beforehand and making a way for us to purchase luggage easily online.
Philippine Airlines claims baggage fees are all delineated on their website, but this is not true.

The Philippine Airlines website only says 350 pesos per excess kilo of weight within luggage, but does not notify customers of the 2,000 pesos allowance option for 10 kilos. Furthermore, the four hours before departure price of 400 kilos Ms. Lacambra told me about at the check-in counter is nowhere mentioned on Philippine Airlines website.
The levels of fraud, deception and heartless behavior continue at Philippine Airlines to defraud passengers in multiple ways to increase profit margins.
These deceptive and fraudulent business practices occurring at Philippine Airlines include:
1. Charging exorbitant and fraudulent excess luggage fees, while not fully informing customers of alternative more affordable options.
2. Overbooking flights
3. Not posting gate numbers in airports
4. Changing gate numbers before flights depart
5. Confusing travelers so they miss flights
6. Charging travelers penalties when they miss flight.
7. Charging travelers twice for flights when they need to rebook an air ticket after missing a flight due to Philippine Airlines negligence, fraud and deceptive airport practices.
8. Cancelled and delayed flights costing travelers TIME, MONEY and aggravation interrupting their business and family plans.
9. Not providing passengers enduring cancelled and delayed flights hotel and food vouchers (as I witnessed today when a Filipino from Bukidnon had a flight delayed and thereby missed his flight to Iloilo).
10. Refusing to put passengers on the next available flight free of charge, but instead wasting their time and money to maximize profits for Philippine Airlines while charging more than the original flight.
Within minutes of my problem with Philippine Airlines today at the Cebu International Airport in the Philippines, a Filipino from Bukidnon began complaining about his issues with Philippine Airlines.
Share your problems with Philippine Airlines and together let us find legal representation (perhaps from the Philippines Solicitor General and Department of Tourism Regulators) to launch a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Philippine Airlines to recuperate money the airline has defrauded us of and reclaim our time and money lost due to Philippine Airlines negligence.
Philippine Airlines does NOT represent the heart of the Filipino, They adhere to deceptive business practices to daily defraud Filipinos and increase profit margins for their Chinese CEO. Air Asia Damages Luggage and Ignores Customers
On July 2, 2023 I and my friend traveled on Air Asia from Manila to Cebu, Philippines with 4 large suitcases all of which were tagged with FRAGILE stickers and for which I paid hefty excessive baggage fees.
Nevertheless, upon arrival on Air Asia, our luggage ($600 or more in value, some being new) was deeply scratched, broken and burned upon arrival at the luggage claim area.
The Air Asia representative on duty completed my complaint form and I took photos of the luggage and the agent for Air Asia to fully document the experience and extent to which Air Asia has thus far ignored me (it now being one month later on August 2, 2023 as I write this post to forewarn all customers to not travel with Air Asia, an airline which damages customers luggage, while charging them huge fees and thereafter refuses to compensate travelers for their destroyed and grossly damaged luggage due to Air Asia employees negligence and disregard).
The flight on Air Asia was Z2 783 on July 2, 2023 (Manila to Cebu) 12:25pm departure, seats 18C and 18D.
The numbers of my baggage tags for which I paid large amounts of fees for excessive luggage to Air Asia are:

Philippine Airlines Lying Cheating Robbing Customers - Not The Heart of Filipinos
On July 12, 2023, I spoke to a Philippine Airlines representative and made a reservation for a Filipino friend. The Philippine Airlines rep told me I had up to 3 days to pay for the airline ticket using the code QMOM5L.
However, when I went to the Cebu airport office of Philippine Airlines within two days to buy the air ticket as promised, the price was not honored by Philippine Airlines and instead was significantly increased.
Then the Filipino friend who reported to the Clark airport in Pampanga two hours early to fly with Philippine Airlines the day for which he was scheduled to travel, Philippine Airlines did not designate a specific departure gate making it difficult to board the plane in a timely fashion (since the whereabouts of the plane could not be discerned and ascertained in a sufficient amount of time before departure).
When the Filipino friend missed the plane because of Philippine Airlines negligence on July 17, 2023, the heartless airline refused to honor the flight purchased and put the Filipino on the next flight freely. Instead, heartless Philippine Airlines said we would have to buy a new airline ticket and forfeit the cost of the previously bought ticket. Once again, this is evidence of how heartless and monetarily motivated Philippine Airlines is because they lie, cheat and steal from its customers.
Philippine Airlines therefore owes me 5,100 pesos for the flight from Clark to Cebu AND the travel expenses incurred thereafter due to its negligence whereby my Filipino friend missed their flight. Thereafter, I had to buy another flight, which I did via Cebu Pacific Airlines (rather than be ripped off a third time by ungodly and unethical Philippine Airlines).
1. Philippine Airlines misinform travelers as to how long they have to purchase a plane ticket when they forward web links to book air tickets (as its reps are not allowed to take credit cards over the phone).
2. Philippine Airlines increase the cost of plane tickets not honoring the prices told passengers by Philippine Airlines reps over the phone and via its chat app online during the time of booking.
3. Philippine Airlines is heartless and disregards Filipino passengers needs when they fail to inform them of the departure gate in an adequate amount of time to facilitate a timely departure, but instead keep gate numbers a mystery and often change gates at the last minute to ensure some passengers miss their flight so Philippine Airlines can sell more airline tickets, charge more penalties when travelers rebook tickets for another date and time, and thereby can charge travelers and increased airfare price as they book last minute flights due to Philippine Airlines negligence.
4. Philippine Airlines overbooks its flights, selling more airline tickets than there are seats available on its planes, so it can double dip, oversell and increase profitability. Then Philippine Airlines keep gates a mystery until departure time to ensure more passengers miss their flights, so they can increase airline profitability, charge penalties to customers who miss their flights and reschedule (though due to Philippine Airlines negligence and changing gates at the last minute to confuse passengers traveling with the airline).

I completed a damage form at the Cebu airport with the assistance of an Air Asia representative upon arrival, but thereafter Air Asia ignored me entirely.
Air Asia neither paid for the three suitcases they damaged (valued at $800), nor did they reimburse me the excessive baggage fees charged me. All suitcases had fragile stickers on them when checked in at Manila, Philippines with the Air Asia representative.

Starlux Airlines Case 00484381
I had the following problems with Starlux Airlines when traveling on June 2, 2023 from Los Angeles to Taiwan and Cebu, Philippines.
- $100 luggage weight fee
- $160 charged me three times (when I only brought two extra suitcases) amounting to $480 in excessive luggage fees charged me by Starlux Airlines
- inadequate leg room promised and advertised as the plane had a metal bar in the area where my feet were to go
- impolite stewardesses and inadequate food service
- luggage damaged upon arrival (and yet I was only refunded a small portion $160 of the cost it shall take to replace $600 of ruined luggage)
The Starlux airlines phone rep told me I would receive a 70 pound allowance for each bag, but the airport new guy in training (Tamer and his supervisor) charged me another $100 for luggage well under 70 pounds.
My flight from LAX to Taipei the Starlux Flight crew fed everyone around me breakfast 30 minutes before me (while they watched me suffer for entertainment purposes).
The seat 40A (and all window seats) have a bar blocking leg room and hindering passengers from adequately extending and stretching their legs.
I sent Starlux Airlines images as evidence, but was ignored by the airline and not refunded the cost of the ticket, nor half the ticket (as any other reputable airline would do).
Case # 00482548 for the refund request of the EMD# 189-4200008216 $160 USD was fully processed on June 1, 2023. The ARN number for the transaction is 74007043154920004026929.
Yet, once again $160 is only a fraction of the total amount I am owed by Starlux Airlines.
- I should receive the amount paid for luggage fully refunded since the airlines damaged my luggage.
- I should receive no less than $600 to replace my luggage.
- I should receive half the cost of the plane ticket for inadequate leg room as advertised.
I am a world traveler who has been to 90 nations and used airlines throughout the world. Starlux Airlines therefore should be forewarned and aware that when I and other wronged travelers litigate in a class action lawsuit, they will pay far more, including triple in punitive damages for bad faith and attorney's fees for ignoring me their customer.

I sent Starlux Airlines images as evidence, but was ignored by the airline and not refunded the cost of the ticket, nor half the ticket (as any other reputable airline would do).
Case # 00482548 for the refund request of the EMD# 189-4200008216 $160 USD was fully processed on June 1, 2023. The ARN number for the transaction is 74007043154920004026929.
Yet, once again $160 is only a fraction of the total amount I am owed by Starlux Airlines.
- I should receive the amount paid for luggage fully refunded since the airlines damaged my luggage.
- I should receive no less than $600 to replace my luggage.
- I should receive half the cost of the plane ticket for inadequate leg room as advertised.
I am a world traveler who has been to 90 nations and used airlines throughout the world. Starlux Airlines therefore should be forewarned and aware that when I and other wronged travelers litigate in a class action lawsuit, they will pay far more, including triple in punitive damages for bad faith and attorney's fees for ignoring me their customer.
All travelers on Starlux Airlines who would like to be added to this class action lawsuit may email their case, full name and flight details to me to be added to the class action lawsuit against the airline.
