Happy Hanukkah. Shalom to Jewish Friends throughout the World
Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish friends and families throughout the world!
During this time of peace and remembrance, I send warm greetings to the Jewish Community throughout the world. For eight nights, Jewish people around the world honor the miracle of Hanukkah by lighting the menorah, a symbol of hope shining through darkness. The amazing Hanukkah story teaches us the importance hope and faith, even in the face of great odds and danger. The miraculous survival of the Jewish people through the multitude of trials and tribulations serves as inspiration to each and every one of us.
My recent visit to the holy land in October this year was life-changing and immensely enriching as I explored my spiritual heritage and birth place of my Savior and faith in the living God.
As Jewish families throughout the world light the menorah to honor and commemorate the sacrifices of their Jewish ancestors, I wish you a happy and wonderful Hanukkah, filled with peace and joy.
Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays to all.

Consumer Advocacy Speaker: Advocate and Speaker for Consumers Rights and Protection
It never ceases to amaze me how poorly companies and professionals treat consumers.
Before allowing people to bulldoze over you, think things through and speak up for yourself.
Today when getting an MRI, MRA and some other M-acronym related procedure to evaluate my head after being in a car accident thanks to a drunk driver... I was shocked when I learned before they were to perform the MRA that I had to receive an injection called "a contrast" which neither my doctor, nor the nurses attending to me ever foretold me about.
Upon reading all of the contractual legalities and nearly signing my life away (which I never do, as I like to cross out things in contracts and initial them so as to decline) in regard to the possible side effects of this injection, I began asking questions as to how necessary this injection was along with my MRA.
Of course the technician who was scheduled to perform the procedure (along with 10 others that day), was NOT personable, NOR reassuring, NEITHER knowledgeable and patient enough to describe the procedure and why the injection was necessary.
However when I refused the injection and the MRA until receiving further information, the strong economic motivation on the part of the MRA technician and lab provider slowed them down long enough to begin to answer some of my unsanswered questions.
At first the front desk secretary and tech tried to feed me some rubbish about how "everybody" gets the contrast and they've only seen two people have any adverse reaction. I then asked about those two people and the extent of the adverse reactions.
The tech was happy to give me the MRA without the contrast, but mentioned my doctor asked for the contrast to be used in order to see more within my brain if (God forbid) something was wrong therein.
If I refused the contrast and something showed up on the MRI and proved to be wrong, then I would have to come back and do the procedure again ...this time with the contrast.
I therefore phoned my physcian (which I never got on the phone) for further information (which I should have received before the appointment and tests were scheduled in the first place) and got a little more information from his nurse.
The point to the whole entire matter is as consumers we must be proactive and not let people treat us as tools and cattle to be pushed around.
The tech initially was a bit aggressive with me saying, "We need to start the procedure." I refused until I felt comfortable and received additional information. It was then the tech provided me a piece of paper with a fully detailed list of all possible side effects and negative reactions to the injection.
Yet none of this was given to me before the appointment, nor offered to me for review, neither given at the lab UNTIL I demanded it.
Sadly this is how many businesses are run ...even worse the medical industry (which is severely and intensely economically motivated these days).
That being said, stand up for yourself and use your backbone before allowing people to treat you like a piece of meat to perform tests and procedures on.
Be a knowledgeable and proactive consumer, never bowing or caving to some policy when your body and pocketbook are involved.

Church Growth Strategies and Secrets for Pastors: Silence Complainers and Conquer Jezebel
Murmurers and complainers are cancerous, never celebrated, nor do they prosper. God blesses and promotes positive people who praise Him and impart hope to people.
God said to Abraham: "I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you" (Genesis 12:3).
We who are in Christ are heirs according to that promise (Galatians 3:29), as we in the dispensation of grace have a better covenant established upon better promises (Hebrews 8:6).
Yet ironically many who attend church regularly are NOT blessed and are growing increasingly bitter. Why? Because they do not have the heart of God for people.
How do I know? Because they are envious and jealous rather than able to rejoice with them who rejoice. When they see others being blessed, instead of getting happy with them and celebrating, they grow jealous and become more bitter.
Jealous and envy is as rotteness in the bones. It pollutes you inwardly and physically. Moreover it repels blessed and prosperous people from you because spiritually they can discern you are evil and unable to carry the heart and blessing of God.
Of course God in His endless mercy will always give you some longsuffering friends who will endure you for a season and hopefully confront your disfunction so you can be healed. But the season of suffering will continue and be perpetuated if you in your pride remain self-centered, self-willed and resistant to the Word of God through His people.
Jesus spoke of hundredfold blessings for His servants faithfully and diligently serving Him (Mark 10:28:31). Yet "with persecutions" ...because people get jealous when you start getting blessed and it is visually obvious you are MORE blessed than them.
This is when people get mad and sadly they who get most angry are usually not sinners outside the church, but religious folks (self-righteous religious folks) within the church.
It was the Saducees and Pharisees (sad and yet full of themselves) who most vehemently and violently resisted and opposed Jesus. Yet if they would have just humbled their hearts and received Christ's Words they too could have submitted to God and been blessed.
Yet in their defiance they chose their position, religion and justification (for why they weren't equally as blessed and enjoying God's miraculous blessing).
Such can occur within families as well - a division as Christ foretold. Jesus boldy said: "Do not think I have come to send peace on earth: I did not come to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance (division) ...and a man's foes shall be they of his own household" (Matthew 10:34-36).
Bishop T.D. Jakes recently preached about this saying the one place a man often feels most UNCOMFORTABLE and UNWELCOME is in his own home.
King David could certainly attest to that! David, the man after God's own heart, was rejoicing in the Lord, when his wife Michal despised him in her heart (2Samuel 6:14-15,20).
Michal, David's wife was a killjoy. Yet David refused to allow her to quench the fire of the Spirit and love for God burning in his heart.
David stood up to the wicked woman (his own wife) saying: "I will be more vile than this and will be abased in my own sight" (2Samuel 6:22) purposing to worship God wholeheartedly no matter what his foolish wife said.
The result - David continued to flourish and prosper, while his wicked wife Michal (full of bitterness and contempt for the Lord and His chosen servant David) was barren all of her life [2 Samuel 6:23].
Truly pride goes before a fall and continually keeps us from flourishing.
Who do you despise and have contempt for?
Quite possibly the very person you despise has been positioned by God to teach you something, agitate your rebellion, expose your bad attitude and misplaced emotion and provoke you to think and live according to a higher law.
Nevertheless if you continue playing and purporting to be self-righteous you like Michal can live and die barren (barreness was considered to be a curse in Israel - both then and now).
As for the men and women desiring to break forth in the earth and live in the glorious Presence and blessing of God, do not allow a vile and evil spirit such as was in Michal to kill your joy for one split second.
The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). God surely and continually inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).
This is why the devil wants to stop the praises and celebration with complaining, criticism and ongoing accusation - the devil's pitiful modus operandi.
Like the prophet Elijah who defeated and beat that wicked woman Jezebel, rise up with the high praises of God and two-edged sword of the Word in your mouth to conquer that complaining and pathetic clamorous spirit.
This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in our Creator!
As we rejoice and happily praise Him, our enemies will surely be made to bow before us!

Tiger Woods Mistresses and Whores Costing Him Big Money
The NY Post tallies up Tiger Wood's bimbos he was sinking holes with while he was married to 10 so far. Others jokingly speculate there must be 18 holes out there somewhere for the golfing great. Tiger certainly kept himself busy on and off the greens it seems.
By the looks of the pictures of these many women on the NY Post, I don't know what Tiger was thinking. Some of the ladies look less than attractive to say the least.
PepsiCo-owned Gatorade decided to axe the Tiger Focus drink.
Tiger Woods signed a five-year deal with Gatorade in 2007 for an estimated $100 million.
Since the 14-times major winner crashed his car on 27 November, many women have claimed to have had affairs with Woods.
There are also reports that adverts featuring Woods have vanished from US prime-time broadcast and cable TV. According to data from US media research firm Nielsen, the last prime-time advert featuring the 33-year-old golfer was a 30-second Gillette item on 29 November.
Truly the Biblical Scripture does not lie when it says: "By means of a whorish woman a man is reduced to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life" (Proverbs 6:26).
Many of Tiger's former mistresses and whores are surfacing, speaking and collecting payments for their public confessions to tabloids. Proving true the words above from Proverbs about dirty dames after dough turning on their former flings for fame and fortune.
There is good reason for marriage to uphold the sanctity of intimacy and one's personal privacy in the bedroom.
Now Tiger is desperately paying for playing.
Meanwhile the NY Post reports Elin is trying to pick up the pieces and put her life back together in Sweden with a new $2.29 million home purchase on an island near Stockholm.
God help Tiger, Elin and the kids get through this difficult season.

Pride Goes Before a Fall - God Help Us to Stand Honorably and Live Purposefully
While reading a Washington Times article on Tiger Woods recent struggles, I scrolled down to check out the comments.
One in particular, most likely a Greek saying caught my eye:
"Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make great."
Of course I believe in the one great God, but the principle remains true... in regard to our adversary.
The devil too Jesus to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time and said to Jesus, 'All this power will I give you and the glory of them: for it is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will give it. If you therefore will worship me, all will be yours." (Luke 4:5-7)
Of course the devil is the father of lies (John 8:44) and seeks nothing more than to steal, kill and destroy us (John 10:10). Life more abundantly however is found in Christ as we live in the Spirit (John 10:10).
Yet the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life tends toward destruction if we allow ourselves to be immersed and engulfed by it. These are undoubtedly a snare to the soul, dwarfing our potential and thwarting our purpose.
If we will but humble ourselves and go on bended knee to our Creator He will uphold us and lift us up over every temptation and trial and carry us into our personal promised land enabling us to joyfully live purposefully as we daily love and give God the glory.

Why Christians in North America are Unhappy, Bored, Miserable, Missing the Mark and Not Prospering
During my Bible reading the Holy Spirit answered a question a disgruntled Christian recently posed to me earlier in the day:
"Why am I still sick? I have fasted, prayed, used proper nutrition, cleansed, etc. What else can I do?"
The Lord said: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)
Submitting to God is not just in reading the Bible, prayer and fasting but in the entirety of your life. It has been said if Christ is not Lord of ALL, He is not Lord at all.
Many Christians call Jesus Lord, but dare not go to the uttermost parts of the earth to share and speak His Word to souls perishing for eternity. Yet Jesus commanded His disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel, this being His final words to His disciples (Matthew 28:20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8).
Yet North American Christians use Christ to "be blessed", but thereafter leave Christ and His great commission (which ultimately is a divine commandment) by the waistside as they pursue their own agenda and will.
It is very hard to have God's blessing without first embracing God's heart and will for the world (John 3:16). Most North Americans are so in love with and worshipping the dirt they live on, they couldn't bare for a second living in a foreign country to save souls for the glory of God.
Meanwhile they suffer for not seeking first the kingdom of God and the will of the Lord. Yet if they would humble themselves and do so, all they desire could easily, graciousy and generously be given to them of the Lord (Matthew 6:33; Psalm 37:4).
"God who did not spare His only Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32)
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might be rich" (2Corinthians 8:9).
Yet as long as you lack the heart of God for the nations of the world for whom Christ died, neither you nor Christ shall be satisfied (Isaiah 53:11; Hebrews 2:10).
The pleasure of the Lord however shall always abound with prosperity (Isaiah 53:10) and the Spirit of God within obedient and willing disciples does always bring prosperity (Acts 5:32; Isaiah 1:19; Acts 8:29-30; 2Chronicles 24:20).
How can we not prosper when we align ourselves and partner with the God of glory for whom are all things and by whom are all things?
Yet if you reject and forsake the commandments of the Lord you cannot prosper (2Chronicles 24:20).
The willing and obedient however delight in the Lord (Isaiah 1:19) and happily follow Christ (Mark 1:17) right into their personal promised land full of wealth and rejoicing (Acts 20:32; Ephesians 1:11,18; Romans 8:17).
Jesus taught us to pray, "Thy Name, Thy kingdom, Thy will be done." (Matthew 6:9-10) Yet most Christians live for their name, fame and self-centered will wherein God's glory and blessing is never found.
And yet we arrogantly get angry at God when we are inwardly and physically ill and in prosperity do not abound.

Black History Celebration Speaker: MLK Day Speaker on Black History and Rich Heritage
Warm greetings from sunny Florida.
As a social activist for affirmative action, justice and corporate & governmental accountability I am delighted you are seeking a speaker for your Black History Month Celebration. I had the honor and distinct privilege of meeting Rev. Bernice King (Dr. Martin Luther King's daughter) in southern California when she spoke at our church.
Many of the freedoms and civil liberties we possess in America today came about as a result of black leaders who peaceably and perseveringly pioneered a path to the promised land liberating all of mankind. The black heritage and history in America is therefore rich and enduring.
Today in the spirit of Dr. King we must continue to work to maintain the Civil Rights our forefathers won for us. Truly civil rights violations continue to occur in America:
- The New York police murder of an unarmed African American groom at his bachelor party.
- The boot camp beating leading to the death of a 14 year old African American boy here in Florida.
- The University of Florida student who asked Senator John Kerry an undesirable question and was removed from the venue and tasered by campus security.
As for me I was raised by a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army (my beloved grandfather) and therefore understand the militaristic mindset when it comes to dealing with terrorism. Yet before we battle abroad, it seems there is much work and many battles still to be fought at home to secure and sustain the civil rights of our own people presently being taken advantage of and denied justice on a daily basis.
If Martin Luther King were alive today, he would continue to cry out against such injustice. The modernization of the world and global means of world travel has brought us closer together economically, technologically and via our entertainment.
I have been to Africa five times, having slept in a tent in the bush within war torn countries for months and been so deep into the bush where electricity doesn't exist and some had never before seen a white man. Thus I intimately know the plight of Africans abroad and within the homeland (the latter through my work in the inner city as a minister and through prison ministry among inmates).
Emancipation legally has come, but for transformation to occur illumination within and the fight of faith must be fought individually to ensure progression to the promised land Dr. King saw and dreamed of for us all.
Had Dr. King and other Civil RIghts leaders remained silent, everybody in America would be enslaved regardless of the color of our skin. Because where oppression exists in shades and degrees, it can bleed and spead to burden all of humanity.
I wish for you the heart, strength, inspiration, fire and burning desire of Dr. King to continue to carry the torch of light in a dark and desperate world thirsting for prophetic leaders full of courage and boldness lift up their voices to champion for civil rights for all.
Sincerely,
Paul F Davis
