I found a couple of Amanita muscaria in my backyard. (Those are the little red mushrooms with white spots, like from The Smurfs.) I googled them, which is how I know the name, and apparently they’re both poisonous and hallucinogenic. Seems you can boil some of the toxicity out of them. If I were a braver person, I might research and experiment with that. I don’t hate the idea of escaping to a little unreality for a while. But I think I’ll just continue to clear away whatever I find, so Teddy doesn’t wind up accidentally high and freaking out about how his entire body is covered in millions and millions of hair follicles and how if you pulled out all those hairs his body would then be covered in holes.
Wait… Are you saying the Smurfs lived in drug yurts?
Oh, man. That explains so much.
