The boys had their latest show tonight and they FUCKING KILLED IT! AGAIN!
This session, the theme was Wonder Women, which meant all of the songs were originally written by and/or performed by women (or at least the band had women members). So, Wyatt played drums on Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” and Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock N’ Roll,” among others. And among the songs Boone did, he played lead guitar on a “Mark My Words” by Doll Skin and bass on Sonic Youth’s “Dirty Boots.”
I’m so proud of them and the work they put in. The next session is all songs by The Who, so naturally it’s going to be fucking epic.

Experienced parents—How do you manage multiple kids? This one baby takes 95% of my waking time and some of my sleeping hours, too. I imagine if I had a toddler and an infant, I’d be tossing slices of bread at the toddler to eat for dinner and calling it a day.
Do you just…reach expert level at some point? You become more efficient? You learn special tricks?
You learn that tossing slices of bread at your toddler is okay and sometimes necessary.

The boys and I tagged along with their grandpa to LA’s Round & Wound yesterday. (It’s a recording studio, but they mostly do transfers and archival stuff now.)
Grandpa Larry had some unreleased tracks on an old tape and, while the guys at the studio created digital copies, they let the boys mess around with this vintage synthesizer.
I told Wyatt and Boone they were creating a soundtrack for their own Logan’s Run-type movie. They didn’t know what I was talking about.
