Twilight Silhouette (Silueta de Crepusculo)
A bilingual poem with music and images! Beautiful! ;-)
Peace, love & the pursuit of happiness to all,
Sherrie
This is the result of my collaboration with Oscar Alejandro Plascencia and Childs Cnsurbanent for Episode Seven
of A Star is Born on the Public Blogger.

No. Absolutely NOT.
Well, I just published my debut novel at 58 and have many more to go so I definitely don’t fit into this line graph. Say what you want, but any smart young person would look to the sages in our society & learn as much as they can from them!
And by the way, now at 59, I actually feel better than I have most of my life. My mother liked to call me a “sickly child,” so as I got older I did everything I could to prove I wasn’t sickly. I am doing quite well these days. My “Tom-boy” sister, on the other hand, had open heart surgery recently. Fortunately, she is taking much better care of herself now! ;-)
Peace, love & great genes & health to all,
Sherrie

Hee hee
Ahhh, you made me think of our kitties that my husband adopted before we got married. They’ve been gone, to the Rainbow Bridge, for a while now. We keep talking about adopting new kitties but so far we haven’t gone together to look. ;-)
Peace, love & kittie cats for all,
Sherrie

Monday Funnies – Ever had days like these??? Part TWO…
Well, I was at a funeral most of the day. (You know, funeral, burial, then reception – I considered skipping the reception, but moved my diet day instead). We still have 3 1/2 hrs. of Monday left here in California! Thanks again, Chris, for another Monday Funnies! If it’s Tuesday when you get this post, it is definitely still worth checking out! This one is great for all us PC addicts! When are they going to start those damn 12 Step meetings for US?! Well, they probably already have them in LA, but here in San Diego, we’re a bit behind the times! ;-)
Peace, love & laughter for all,
Sherrie

Speak English please! What BS!
I was just reading a post where Teddy Roosevelt said that immigrants need to leave their culture behind 100% & become 100% American. The ESL teacher who posted this also said that students need to learn “proper” English and stop talking slang! Here is my answer to her:
FDR had it right! JFK had it right! All you guys say you’re French or German or Italian or whatever your ancesters are. Every ethnic group hangs on to that identity and so do their kids and grandkids! You all know it! You may pretend you don’t because you want some racist a-hole to be your president, but you ALL know that what makes this country great is what the different ethnic groups brought to this country! Anyone who pretends this isn’t true is lying!
As far as slang, well, go to England & hear all the crazy slang they use! A fag is a cigarette; getting pissed means getting drunk. If you are so against slang, you should be teaching Posh English! Why are you doing that?! Language is alive and things that are alive grow and change. You can pretend that there is a world that doesn’t change, but you will; be lying to yourself!

I am shocked to hear that someone who spent a lot of time in another country say these things! If you truly believe this, you should only be eating hot dogs & hamburgers, oh no, those come from Germany. Ok, you can go out for BBQ. Oh, wait, blacks who came originally from Africa invented the BBQ. Well, I guess you can find out what Native Americans eat. Oh, but, wait, you aren’t Native American! YOU don’t belong here!
I hope you get what I’m trying to say here. I’m not putting down anybody but I am saying there is NO PURE CULTURE! Most of us would have to leave here & go back to where our ancesters came from. But that’s a problem cuz we’re ALL MIXED UP! So, either we accept different immigrant groups or WE, OURSELVES NEED TO LEAVE! And, I repeat, most of us have NOWHERE to go. I have Irish, Welsch, Spanish Gypsy, German and the Russian swear I am one of them. SO WHAT DO WE DO NOW THAT WE HAVE ACCEPTED THIS IDEA? WE HAVE NO HOMELAND! BEING AMERICAN MEANS BEING MULTI-CULTURAL! IT MEANS LOVING MANY CULTURES! IT MEANS MARRYING SOMEONE DIFFERENT FROM US! SO, I HOPE NEXT TIME SOMEONE POSTS DRIVEL LIKE THIS, THEY WILL THINK IT OUT & REALIZE THEY ARE CONDEMNING THEMSELVES TO NOT HAVING A HOME!

I wish SOMEONE had told me tears are beautiful before this! I have been a big cry baby all my life! Being with Angelo has helped me not cry so much. But then in 2013, we lost Angelo’s mom and 16 days later, my mother died. I am very grateful to Angelo and ALL his family because they taught me how to let go. Now, I mostly only cry for my mom. In fact, I did that yesterday. (There I go again!) But my tears are mostly tears of joy, tears that say “Mom, I am so lucky to have had you as my mother. Thank you, Mom, for all I’ve learned from you.”
Just know that if your mom is ready to go, you have to let her. We could have kept my mom (technically) alive but we knew she wouldn’t really be with us. Her body would be here, but her mind & heart wouldn’t be alive. We also know that her LOVE would ALWAYS be with us.
During the civil war in El Salvador, the people would say the names of the dead and the people would answer back “Presente!” They believe the dead are always alive in our hearts and minds. It is so true. Remember all the things you learned from your loved one & be grateful for having them in your life, for having known them & loved them & for the love they had for you . . . Mom, you always live in my heart & I think of you every time I fold clothes, every time I cook something you taught me and every time I remember one of your sayings that you probably got from your grandmother. You will never be forgotten . . .
I am reposting the Youtube link as it doesn’t look like it is going to show up above:

The Power of Fear -What is Stopping You?
Thanks, Charlotte, for reminding us that Fear is often not valid & even when it is valid, we should do it anyway!
Peace, love & making your dreams come true!
Sherrie
Charlotte Hunt / Author, Counselor, Speaker
Fear often stops us in our tracks and not only attacks our potential but aims to cut off our purpose. Although fear can be our friend that warns us of impending danger, more often it is an enemy that attacks through our assumptions, beliefs, thoughts, and of course, the unknown road ahead.
It tells us not to move forward without evidence, that danger truly exists or will overtake us. It gives us that queasy feeling that something is not right or is strange.
Fear is that anxiety or unpleasant feeling we have when we anticipate something that we perceive as danger or discomfort. It is anything we sense as an attack to our comfort, safety, or control. Fear-motivated thoughts are all about “I can’t,” “I’m not able,” and “I’m not good enough.” While we certainly have healthy fears or certain phobias of the things, people, or situations in…
