My First Memory Was My Most Embarrassing Moment
I have a memory of peeing my pants, BUT that is NOT my first memory.
My first memory is of my big brother not being there to play with. I looked up and saw a bird on the windowsill! He didn’t leave me (to go to school or my grandmother’s), he turned into a bird and continued to stay with me until we finally moved from “the middle of nowhere” and I started school!
I loved my big brother very much and would have been very upset without him! Thank goodness he turned into a bird and stayed by my side!
Maybe this is why my mom always said I had “quite an imagination”? ;-)
Peace, love & good memories for all,
Sherrie

You would think my first memory would be something great. However, as with all things in human existences our expectations are crushed into dust. That was a bit of my dark side seeping into the light. I will give you a hint pertaining to my first memory. It is one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. I have set the bar quite high for my embarrassment scale.
As a child I despised going to school. My parents would entice me with candy. They would use all the tricks they could think of to get me on my way to school. They once even made me believe I was going to Disney Land. I was sorely disappointed on that day.
My first memory begins on a hot summer day. Prior to going to school, I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I informed my parents…

So many memories! So little time!
Been thinking a lot about my mom lately. I hope she was happy as she made many other feel happy. She always felt for the person who seemed most troubled. Those were the people she would ask me about.
Never knew Johnny Mathis sang this song. Absolutely beautiful! The people who posted it on YouTube though, need to change the title: it’s “THE Way We Were.”
Thank you, Natalie, for ALL this!
Peace, love & great memories for all,

The Coin
Into my heart’s treasury
I slipped a coin
That time cannot take
Nor a thief purloin, —
Oh better than the minting
Of a gold-crowned king
Is the safe-kept memory
Of a lovely thing.

Atmosphere Inspires
Some very creative people say to do exactly what YOU are doing. The candles, music & windows are all cues telling your brain it’s time to get creative. I did it for a while, had those little brain cues to help me write, but I haven’t kept it up. Maybe that’s why I’ve been having such a time getting back to my prequel? Or maybe I just need this time to percolate?
On the other hand, maybe I need to uncover my window. It’s not a view like yours but it’s not bad.
Thank you, Ex-Extrovert for the inspiration! ;-)

The Ex-Extrovert: Musings of a Life Lived in the In Between
Some people say that you should be able to be creative wherever you are; that your surroundings do not matter, only the habit.
Well I would like to politely disagree.
While a consistent habit of writing during a certain time of day does help my brain remember to be creative, I find that the atmosphere I surround myself with and even the paper I write on needs to be inspiring to me.
Beautiful smells from a lit candle, soft lights, my favorite music, large windows that open up to a world of trees and birds singing; all of these things make up one of my favorite places to be.
My creative space. My muse. My safe and quiet place.
My room.
I love this spot I’ve created. It helps me get into the right mindset and it’s also a good spot to sit and have a cup of coffee in…

Because I Like to Share Music That Inspires me
Wow, I thought this was going to be some old French song. Because of Bastille Day, ya know? But, Ex-Extrovert knows of what she speaks: Their lyrics, voices & music are stunning. And yes, I love their accents too! Are they French? French African? Australian? Maybe from New Zealand.
OK, I should google it & find out, but aren’t questions much more fun?! ;-)

If you guys have never heard Bastille or gotten into them, you should. I love their lyrics and their sound. So different and soothing. It really helps me to write. Also, amazing accents and they sound good accapella. Truly talented.
You’re welcome. ;)

If nothing else, it’s good to know I’m not alone!

Someone still hates The Dead Rabbits.
People blame him for the Titanic sinking. Tragedies are hard to get over.
He stole something from someone on the voting committee in Catch Me if You Can.
People don’t know if it is really Leo anymore after The Man In The Iron Mask.
People can’t forgive him for doing Romeo and Juliet.
His name is reward enough. What a cool name!
Someone thinks he really works on Wall Street and that means we can’t trust him!
Maybe someone thought Blood Diamond and Django were documentaries?
Everyone has a critter in their closet.
Does the Gatsby really need anything else?

Your turn. Go ahead. Light up your particle episode.
The universe is unknown and the world would be too, if not for the great Artists that give us pause and ask us to look within for our own answers to Life’s complexity.
Thank you, David, for this post reminding us of the mysteries of Life. They continue a story that we, too, will continue.
Peace, love & Art for all,

It is through the individual brain alone that there passes the momentary illumination in which a whole country-side may be transmuted in an instant…Man’s mind, like the expanding universe itself, is engaged in pouring over limitless horizons…The great artist, whether he is a musician, painter, or poet, is known for this absolute unexpectedness. One does not see, one does not hear, until he speaks to us out of that limitless creativity which is his gift.
The flash of lightning in a single brain also flickers along the horizon of our more ordinary heads. Without that single lightning stroke in a solitary mind, however, the rest of us would never have known the fairyland of The Tempest, the midnight world of Dostoevsky, or the blackbirds on the yellow harvest fields of Van Gogh. We would have seen the blackbirds and endured the depravity of our own hearts, but it would…

Peace…
I have always considered myself to be a Peacemaker first & writer, teacher, coach, friend, sister, wife, et al comes after my search for peace. But having three posts about “Peace” in one day? (With maybe more to come?) That surprises even me! ;-)
Thank you, Natalie, for sharing this so I could, in turn, do the same . . . ;-)
