St. Louis Park Patch: Franken Defends Health Care Reform in St. Louis Park

Grand Forks Herald: MATTERS AT HAND: Constituent service is lifeline to politicians

Sen. Al Franken paid a visit to the Herald last week.



These visits from political figures are an advantage of newspaper work. We not only meet the people who make public policy, we get to spend quality time with them.

KSAX: Franken Backing Anti-Bullying Bill Following Teen Suicides

MILTONA, Minn. – Sen. Al Franken discussed new legislation that would give gay students more rights in the classroom following the suicide of an Alexandria Jefferson High School student.



Around 10:00 p.m. Saturday the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to an emergency call at the Lundsten's residence in Miltona.

The Uptake: Franken: First Time FCC Has Allowed Discrimination On The Internet

Senator Al Frabken (D-MN) speaks at the second Netroots Nation MN Conference. In his lunchtime speech, he talks about the necessity of net neutrality and the dangers of the NBC-Comcast merger. Speaking on the weak FCC rules supporting Net Neutrality, Franken said that "This is the first time that the FCC has allowed discrimination on the internet." Franken calls the fight for net neutrality, the First Amendment fight of this generation. Watch his full speech, as well as his responses to some questions from the audience.

MinnPost: Franken to Feds: Want new road signs? Help pay for 'em

WASHINGTON — Driving along a snowy road one late January evening in northern Minnesota, a driver flies through an intersection and is T-boned by an oncoming car. The driver hadn't seen the stop sign, old and faded off to the side.


That's the scenario federal officials envisioned when they created a rule that every road sign in America must adhere to new federal reflectivity guidelines by 2018. Stop signs and other safety signs must follow the new brightness guidelines by 2015.

MPR: Franken speaks out against Comcast/NBC merger

DFL Sen. Al Franken is ramping up his opposition to the proposed merger between cable giant Comcast and NBC Universal. Franken sent an e-mail to supporters saying the merger would be a "disaster."



"When the same company owns the content and the pipes that deliver that content, consumers lose," Franken said in the video statement.
