Out of Time is a time travel novella
In the 2150's, a scientist discovers time is actually fluid; past, present, and future all exist at the same time. What he doesn't know, is if the current timeline can change when something is changed in the past. The U.S. government wants him to find out. The theme being to make right what once went wrong.
In this political thriller, Gary Jackson is raised to hate. Hate the United States, its people, and everything they have ever stood for. His mission since childhood is to destroy the United States from within, allying himself with the worst of America's enemies, and one very powerful and malevolent trillionaire, to accomplish the deed. Once elected to the highest position in the land, Gary puts his lifelong goals to work and puts the USA onto the path of ultimate destruction. There are those who want to stop him, but will they be able to achieve that goal?
Advanced humans, called Terrans, leave Earth when its threatened by a massive meteor. The remaining humans on Earth fall back into primitiveness. The advanced humans, and a group of aliens, the Ragnor, involve Earth in their intergalactic war. Thousands of years later, the humans of Earth decide to do something about this when they find out their history has been manipulated. Interstellar politics will never be the same again once Earth is done with their revenge.
In this sci-fi short story, aliens come across television broadcasts from an unknown planet to them. Then, they come across a probe from same planet that tells them everything they need to know about this planet and its people. They decide to visit the planet, but when they arrive, not everything is as it seems.
In DUST STORM, a Christian Western short story with some romantic themes, fifteen years after the Civil War, Matt Taylor comes through Tucson as part of his travels. He stops at the local Cafe, meets a woman he instantly falls in love with, only for her father, a former Confederate Colonel to order him to leave town. Matt doesn't, the Colonel tries to bribe some Bandidos to force Matt to leave, but instead, his daughter is kidnapped. So, Matt and the Colonel have to lay aside their differences to rescue her. Find out if they do in this short story.
In this alternate history/political thriller, New Frontier explores what-if Ronald Reagan became President in 1976 instead and the Space Race turned out differently? He pledges to support NASA with the moon landings, and declares that a moon base would be established by 1979, followed by a Mars Base by 1989. The Soviets decide to up the ante by building something bigger.
The rest of Earth follows the original timeline, so terrorism rears its ugly head, which will forever change American politics. Iran and its attempt at taking hostages is taken care of in 1979, but a new threat emerges because of it. The new President of the United States has to pursue these enemies of the U.S. to secure America's future. We follow America's progress from Moon to Mars, along with the Teacher in Space Program, to an eventual starship mission out of the solar system, which will continue in Final Frontier.
In this sequel to New Frontier, Final Frontier has the USS Lewis & Clark begin their search for the Soviet starship Yuri Gagarin. They find the wormhole that the Gagarin went through twelve years earlier and decide to go through it. On the other side, the crew of the Lewis & Clark find a solar system that used to be populated by aliens known as Pictorians, but they're no longer there. Neither is the crew of the Gagarin. So, the Lewis & Clark is flown back through the wormhole to report back to Earth.
Unfortunately, something is wrong, they find themselves thirty years in the past. As they struggle to wait for their future to catch up, the crew of the Lewis & Clark make changes to certain events, but they cause unintended consequences; including making another alien species mad enough to forbid humans from traveling beyond the Sol System. Find out what happens in this conclusion of the New Frontier series.

This whole writer's journey caught me completely by surprise and, to this day, I'm a bit stunned by the ride. Blame it all on prayer. In 2004 I committed to pray every day, right out of the sack, for at least an hour. A year later I woke in the morning from a very cool dream. As the week went on, the dream wouldn't let go. It expanded in my brain until I HAD to start writing or just… explode. That story? One Night With a Rock Star. It's the novel that transformed me into a passionate storyteller. Two years later, in the middle of prayer, I asked a question and God answered. I yelped in shock but also had to admit the answer made so many of my faith elephants-in-the-room make sense. For the next month, every morning began with more mind-blowing insights. When I showed the 250 pages of notes to my hubby and an author friend, they both said, "This needs to be a novel." The journey of writing THE FALL was much more than writing a novel. It was a pilgrimage that crushed, shaped and changed me; the way I think, the way I pray, the way I love, even the way I view current events. Times of Turmoil released to Nook, Kobo, Apple, and Smashwords
Times of Turmoil is now also available to buy on Nook, Kobo, iTunes, my own webstore, and Smashwords . When I published it in April, I put it into Amazon's KDP Select so I could get some momentum going with it. I might've stayed in it, if I had more borrows, but I had 12 for it, and I managed to get 2286 downloads from the 5 free days. The other novel I have in Select, Beyond the New Frontier, has done worse, having half of the downloads that Times of Turmoil has since October of last year, probably because people aren't all that into mixing genres like alternate history, political thrillers, and time travel. I bet if I were to write something with vampires, zombies, orcs, elves, or dragons, I'd probably do far better in KDP Select than I do, but except for watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer or the Resident Evil series, I don't go out of my way to read those genres (I have read Eragon and the next two books in the series, along with The Sword and the Dragon by M.R. Mathias, and The Hobbit) and have no desire to write anything in those genres. Although, I have plans to write a novel that takes place before Noah's Flood, with dinosaurs, humans, giants, etc. all in a similar level of technology we have today, so I might delve into some fantasy. But, right now I'm stuck on a story where I know the ending, but I'm struggling with the middle. Anyway, as far as promotion goes, I find lowering my prices for my novels to $.99 every once in a while helps a lot more than free days, at least on Kindle.

The Declaration of Independence
This year, I decided I would post the Declaration of Independence. If you've read my End Times/political thrillers, then you pretty much know how I feel about our current government and the situation we seem to find ourselves in. From liberals trashing conservatives at every turn to abortion activivists in Austin praising Satan while Christians are trying to sing "Amazing Grace" to our President giving aid and comfort to the Muslim Brotherhood, it all seems like our world has completely flipped 180 degrees from where it was before 9/11. I personally think it's time for us to quit giving lip service to changing our government from the inside and doing nothing but whining about it (hey Tea Party, I'm looking at you), plus being sold down the river like Marco Rubio has done to those who elected him, and do what our ancestors (at least those of us who had ancestors here before there was a USA) did back in the late 1700's, even though like then, a great majority of people now could care less about what's happening unless it affects their ability to party and get drunk or watch American Idol. The USA, if we continue on the current course, will probably just fall into oblivion or break apart quietly, which is just my opinion, for what it's worth these days.
The Declaration of Independence: A Transcription
IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776.
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.–Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

Novel Sales For the Year So Far
Now that June is over with and it's half-way through the year, I'd like to share my sales stats for the year so far. I post this twice a year, and most of the promotion I do is through Facebook or Twitter (since I have a very small budget). Since the beginning of the year though, I've joined up with other Christian indie authors at sites like Crossreads to promote our books through Twitter, Blog Hops, and $.99 cent sales, and I think it helps tremendously. If I had a lot of disposable income, it would be interesting to see how well I'd do if I could afford Bookbub, Kindle Nation Daily, etc. I have a post from June, 2012, that shows the sales, plus the Select and Smashwords free downloads. This year, the sales I'm posting are the actual paid sales and not free giveaways through Kindle Select, Smashwords, or my webstore. I have a total of 1373 sales so far spread across Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Apple, Sony, in paperback, etc. It also helps that I've published another novel and all the ones outside of Select are now fully distributed. Most of my books on Apple and Kobo are now uploaded directly or through Draft 2 Digital, instead of Smashwords, so my sales took a small hit, but I get to see the sales in real time instead of every few months. The End Times Trilogy
In this prequel to Times of Trouble and Times of Trial, we learn the back story of how the Evans family gained their riches and eventually their power to influence events in the United States and elsewhere in the world. We see important events that the Evans family gets themselves involved in: such as the return of the Israelites to Israel, the assassination of President Kennedy, the Iran Hostage Affair, the terrorism of 9/11, and eventually events that leads to government tyranny in the United States all to dilute the influence of Christianity in the country.
The novel also follows the Atwood family, starting with the Great-Grandfather of Brian, Charles. We follow him as he makes his way from Normandy in World War Two to being part of the liberation of Buchenwald, the Nazi Concentration Camp, shortly near the end of the war. Charles returns to his hometown in Virginia and gets married to the love of his life, Betty. Eventually, the family ends up in Delaney, Nebraska, when Tom Atwood, the son of Charles, buys some land after returning from Vietnam. In 2001, Aaron, the father of Brian, joins the Army to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. About six years before the beginning of Times of Trouble, we get to see how Brian and Lynda finally get together and get married.

FBI Agent Brian Atwood is used to danger, and when he hunts down leads to a terrorist plot and saves a United States Airbase, he's eventually offered a position to be the personal bodyguard of the President of the United States. The job not only tests his skills as an agent, but also his faith as a Christian when he discovers that the President has the morals of an alley cat. As Brian tries to come to terms with doing his job and having to look the other way, his world begins to crumble. His wife is dying of cancer and his son was taken away by the government because he has Down's Syndrome. What else can go wrong? As the End Times approaches and the United States disintegrates into chaos, Brian must try to save his family.
This is the story about three Christian families who experience the persecution of Christians first hand when the U.S. becomes a Police State. Two get rounded up by government forces as the President declares a dictatorship, initiates Michael Evans' Order 21, and lays the U.S. on a course that will mean its ultimate destruction. The third family make their way from Arizona to Wyoming, where they hope a town built by Doomsday Preppers twenty years earlier will keep them safe. Micheal Evans also tries to manipulate events in the Middle East to try to to bring war between Israel and Iran.

About the Book
At the End of Our Journey is a personal testimony of the life and Christian faith of the author. The inspiration for the book came from two incredible and powerful dreams about Jack's Christian faith. The dreams were experienced in November of 2010 on two consecutive mornings. Jack awoke from both dreams with precise and detailed memories of the events and emotions felt during the dreams. He can recall all of the events of both dreams two years later. To be able to remember all of the details of both dreams is very unusual for him and for most other dreamers. The two dreams did not reveal anything new about his Christian faith. The first dream expressed all of the doubts, fears, and questions that all followers of the Christian faith have asked themselves many times. The second dream was a direct confirmation from God that all of the promises of the Christian faith are true and will happen for all who believe in Christ's redemption and follow his teachings. Words cannot adequately describe the events and emotions of the second dream. The author has difficulty finding words to describe the emotions experienced in his dreams, but he can share the following conclusions about his dreams and the Christian faith with you.
He experienced the finality of knowing that he had died. He knew the joy of knowing that his Christian faith allowed him to conquer death. He felt hope and joy to know that his spirit had conquered death and was rising into Heaven.
He was overcome with joy, peace, contentment, fulfillment, and the sure knowledge that the only place he could possibly be was in Heaven. No other place could feel so good and right. He cannot adequately describe how it felt to know that God was there to welcome him to Heaven where he heard his powerful and loving voice say to him,
"Jack, I am glad you are here, I have been waiting for you."
How could he describe hearing God's welcome end with the following words…
"but, I am not ready for you yet."
At the End of Our Journey is Jack's attempt to share with you the wonderful experience of his life, dreams, and Christian faith. His wish is that you may also know the joy of the personal presence of God in your life and feel the full depth and beauty of His powerful love. And that you may receive a taste of what awaits for us at the end of our journey of Christian faith.
JACK R EAST JR Jack was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in September of 1940. In 1945 his family moved to Southern California where he lived for 30 years. He started his journey of Christian faith in 1956 at the age of sixteen. Jack married his wife Barbara in 1961 and their marriage has lasted for over fifty years. Jack started his career as a CPA, and he and Barbara started their family while living in Southern California. Jack and Barbara moved to the far north coast of California in 1975. Jack continued to work at his accounting and tax practice as he and Barbara raised a family of three great sons. Their boys and their spouses have provided them with four precious grand children. Both family and the Christian faith have always been important parts of the life of Jack and Barbara. At age 72, Jack is still working at his accounting and income tax practice with Barbara's help. Retirement is under consideration, but it is not their greatest priority at this time. In November of 2010 Jack experienced two incredible dreams about his Christian faith. The dreams were the inspiration for writing a book and for this website. The dreams have started a new chapter in the life and Christian faith of Jack R. East, Jr. at age 72.

Mary E Hanks
Mary E Hanks is an author of 2nd chance stories and a playwright/director for youth theater. When she's not writing novels, she's usually working on a play. She loves encouraging young people to share their talents, and an added bonus is getting to "see" her words brought to life onstage. At present, she's directing her 24th production.
Mary served as a pastor’s wife in Alaska and also worked in Christian education for many years. She and Jason have been married for 37 years and have raised four children. They now live in the country near Blanchard, Idaho, a place where deer and wild turkeys play in their front yard.
A romantic at heart, Mary believes we all need a 2nd chance sometime.

New Book Reviews of My Novels
In the last month, I've received some very good book reviews for Times of Turmoil and one today for Times of Trouble. Thanks to everyone who has read all three novels.

From the first chapter I couldn't stop reading! Meet the Evans family, starting with Gregory. They are the evil behind so many world happenings, manipulating events to pursue their goals. The Atwoods were strong in their beliefs,at times unknowingly becoming victims to the Evans family. So many true events were in this book that it almost felt like reading an account of world news. Even though I kept telling myself it is only a work of fiction, I kept wondering if the author had some "inside information" and Gregory Evans was a pseudonym for someone real. I am grateful the author allowed me to read and review this book! I am now a fan of this series and will definitely be buying the rest!

From the beginning, I was hooked. Interesting read, following two families, the first, Evans, whom are pure evil and involved in so many of the awful events that have occurred in the USA. It's so hard to imagine any human being this evil. No love lost, even between family members as they are not capable of it.
As bad as the Evans family is, the Atwood family is good, looking to God for their help and trusting that He will see them through. Great reminder that with God in our life there is always hope!
Although fiction, very much what is happening all around.
Pick up this book today, you will not be disappointed.

This was a very good story filled with historical events that were manipulated by one man. It was so believable that it made me wonder if it could really have happened that way. Is it truth or fiction? How could anyone be that cold hearted? At first it was like reading a history book but it kept drawing me in and wondering what was going to happen next. It kept getting better and better. I couldn't stop reading it. This was a really great read and I hated to see it end.

TIMES OF TURMOIL is a book you won't be able to put down. It is an epic story of good vs. evil involving historical events taking place right here in America. Gregory Evans is the devil himself, alive and well, and seeking to destroy the world as we know it. This prequel will have you yearning for more from Cliff Ball.

The subtitle is End Times Novel, so when reading this please remember it is a work of fiction and though it does contain Scripture, it is the work of the author’s imagination. I spent a Sunday afternoon just reading the book from cover to cover and I enjoyed the time doing so. For one thing, reading it all at once helped me to follow the story all the way through. As I read, I was reminded of other novels I had read with the theme of end times as well as some of the movies I have seen.
There were parts in the story that were hard to read, not because it was gross just imagining if it were to happen as written. The point of view is first person by the lead male character named Brian who works for the FBI and is married with a third child being born as the story begins. In time, Brian receives a promotion to become part of the secret service detail, a position that places him in a position to hear and see the inner workings of the American government. Brian, at first, is quite excited about the promotion, plus the birth of his son until he begins to discern what is happening in the spiritual world.
Of course, there is more to the novel than these few sentences can encompass. I hope you too will take advantage of an afternoon to read the book. You may or may not agree with Rapture theology; however, the story is quite captivating and intriguing no matter your belief. Sometimes when we read what a writer produces we can use that to communicate our thoughts to others as well as the author. I wrote Cliff while I was reading with questions about the novel’s content. He responded right away and was thankful to hear from me. Should you read Times of Trouble, please take time to converse with the author via FaceBook or Twitter as he loves to hear peoples’ feedback whether they are questions, comments or suggestions. My rating is 4 ½ stars.
