This is a great add on to The Times of Trouble series, but holds its own as a stand alone book. Timothy is "discovered" in a church and loves singing Gospel. When he wins a contest and starts his recording career, he gets too busy to read his bible, he can do it later; there will be time for devotions later; he can call or email his parents later. Then praying about his situation gets put on the sidelines. Parents? He doesn't need parents, and when they come to visit unannounced- he slams the door in their faces. Suddenly he doesn't need God at all, Timothy thinks he's doing fine all on his own. Too late Timothy finds that he DOES need God, and by the time he realizes it, he has burned all his bridges. This is a story of how once you start inching away from God, it suddenly becomes miles. This is also a story of a gracious God. It should be a caution for all young adults that think their "little sin" won't matter. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.

While this is part of The End Times Saga, I didn't really include very many political elements in the story. I have an instance where he's watching TV and there's a story about Coptic Christians being slaughtered and the President claiming it was their fault that Muslims didn't like them. Then, I have Timothy meeting the new President Collins at the inauguration and then mentioning his death and the collapse of the U.S., which was fleshed out in Times of Trouble, Times of Trial, Jon Ryan, and Xavier Doolittle.
This novel had me stepping outside my comfort zone with what I normally write, since I was writing a story about a Country musician, and not a political thriller or even a sci-fi type novel. I actually found it difficult to keep it around PG-13(it is now), especially when these annoying stories about Miley Cyrus keeps showing up on our TV's and pops up in random places online, and I wanted my character to abandon being a Christian for a short time because he's surrounded by people who tell him how great he is and so on. I took ideas from Elvis Presley's life, along with being inspired by Katy Perry's and others' lives who were raised as Christians, but went all nutty once they were in the music industry, and even an episode from Justin Bieber's life from the last year or so, which helps to begin Tim's downfall. I also took parts of American Idol, The Voice, X Factor, and maybe even Star Search and mixed it all up at the beginning of the novel so Timothy could go through the whole talent show idea and win the competition. I hope readers enjoy this novel. Now, I have to figure out what to write next: an antediluvian novel, a novel about Collins and the guy who I have as the Mahdi, and then begin a Tribulation era type novel series with those two.
What this novel is about:
Timothy Phillips is a seventeen year old Christian young adult who loves to sing in church. One day, he's discovered by the producer of a national talent show. Timothy goes on the show, performs Country music, instead of the Christian Southern Gospel he prefers, and ends up winning his portion of the show. As he encounters increasing hostility towards Christians, he begins to follow the world instead of Christ. The story follows his highs and lows as he becomes a famous Country musician shortly before the end times.

As for the current novel I'm working on, Timothy Phillips, I'm about halfway through with writing it, and I'll attempt to have it finished and available by mid-October. If you don't remember what that one's about, it's follows the story of Timothy, who is raised a Christian and sings in church. He gets discovered, goes on a national talent show, wins it, and goes on his journey where we follow highs and lows shortly before the End Times (which is set in the same universe as Times of Turmoil, etc).

Sales this week
This week, I have Beyond the New Frontier for FREE on Kindle for probably the last time on Amazon from 9/11 to 9/12. Since it's a combined novel, I'll probably drop it as a title altogether on Amazon, since New Frontier and Final Frontier are separate titles on Amazon anyway and already that way everywhere else.
In this combination of the novels New Frontier and Final Frontier, this is the story of alternate timelines, partial political thriller, and time travel, in which a United States President is kept from being assassinated, but there are other unintended consequences as a result.
In 1976, Ronald Reagan becomes President of the United States, declares the U.S. will plant a base on the moon by 1980 and a base on Mars by 1989. The Iranian Hostage Crisis occurs, but Reagan issues a stronger response, but as a result, Osama bin Laden rises to power earlier than he normally would have in the prime timeline. Meanwhile, The Soviet Union decides to build a starship that will travel to the stars because they want to one-up the United States, but as is usually the case, nothing seems to go right.
In the early 1990's the U.S. and the Russians join forces, which leads the joint venture to the other side of the galaxy by means of a wormhole. When they attempt to return to Earth, they find themselves in the past, where they try to fix certain events in the past while they wait for history in general to catch up to where they launched the joint mission to begin with.
Things go wrong as events do not play out as planned and numerous cases of unintended consequences result from the multiple attempts at fixing the timeline.
Plus, The End Times Saga is $.99 each on Kindle until Sunday, September 15. They have 11 or more reviews for the three novels and rated 3.5 stars and above, while Jon Ryan has 6 reviews and rated 4.5 stars, and Xavier Doolittle is 4 with 1 review so far.
