Skybound Entertainment Teams Up With Live.me for Diversity Livestream

We’re very proud to announce that Skybound Entertainment has partnered with mobile live broadcasting platform Live.me and classroom support charity group DonorsChoose.org to present four intimate conversations on diversity in television. These live conversations premier on Live.me on Sunday, April 23 at 5:30pm PST and are hosted by our good friend Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Odd Couple).

Kelly McCreary (Grey’s Anatomy) will join Brown as the first guest in a format that will encourage fan participation and engagement. 100% of the in-app gifts sent during the broadcast will go to DonorsChoose.org, a charity started in 2010 with the mission of funding classroom projects in order to insure the opportunity for a proper education across all communities.

Donations made during the four-part livestream will specifically go towards classroom projects that focus on teaching students about embracing diversity in their schools and communities. All four conversations will be produced in Skybound Entertainment’s in-house studio that opened earlier this year in order to expand Skybound’s original digital content.

Additional guests for the remaining livestream conversations will be announced soon.

Announcing the INVINCIBLE Movie!

You’ve begged for it! You’ve pleaded for it! You’ve asked us every single day for it! We are so so so SO excited to announce that Skybound Entertainment, Point Grey Pictures and Universal Pictures are coming together to bring you a big screen adaptation of INVINCIBLE!

While the deal has just been announced, there aren’t many details yet. We can tell you that the amazing team of Seth Rogan & Evan Goldberg will be writing, directing and producing the film!

We’ll have more info for you soon so follow our Skybound twitter accounts (including the brand new InvincibleHQ) for updates. For now you can read the entire press release below!

SKYBOUND ENTERTAINMENT, POINT GREY PICTURES AND UNIVERSAL PICTURES ANNOUNCE SETH ROGEN AND EVAN GOLDBERG-LED FEATURE ADAPTATION OF ROBERT KIRKMAN’S LONG-RUNNING COMIC SERIES INVINCIBLE

Los Angeles, (April 4, 2017) – Skybound Entertainment, Point Grey Pictures and Universal Pictures announced today that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will write, direct and produce the feature adaptation of the Image/Skybound comic series Invincible by Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley & Cory Walker.

Invincible, Kirkman’s second longest running series after The Walking Dead, was first released in 2003, and follows Mark Grayson, a normal high school student with just one difference between him and his peers – his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, and he, too, will inherit his own set of super powers.

The comic book, now on its 133rd issue, explores Mark’s journey as he discovers what it means to be the son of Omni-Man and the reality behind his greatest responsibility: protecting planet Earth.

“For nearly a decade I’ve had to endure the ‘what about Invincible?’ question as fans have watched The Walking Dead grow into the multi-media monstrosity it has become over the years. The answer was always that we were waiting for the right team to partner with. That team has arrived! The esteemed misters Goldberg and Rogen have proven themselves to be top-notch directors with a keen collective eye for stunning visuals after slumming it by writing hit after juggernaut hit, said Robert Kirkman.

Kirkman continues, “Invincible’s surprising, edgy, shocking, and oftentimes blood-soaked story couldn’t be in more capable hands. With the team of Rogen, Goldberg and Universal, I’m very confident this will be another superhero movie, in a long line of superhero movies that continues to prove that it’s a viable, thrilling genre that will keep people coming to the cinema for years to come.”

“We will not sleep until the movie is perfect! No matter how much damage it causes our bodies, minds, and our most intimate relationships with those we love, we will not rest until Invincible is as great a movie as it deserves to be,” said Rogen and Goldberg.

The feature is part of Skybound Entertainment’s first look deal with Universal and will tout Skybound’s Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst, and Sean Furst as producers. Point Grey’s James Weaver will also serve as a producer on the film.

Kirkman is repped by CAA, Circle of Confusion and Katz Golden Rosenman. Both Rogen and Goldberg are repped by UTA and Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson.

If you visited us at Comic-Con, you may have had a chance to play GIANT COP at our off-site gallery. Since then, we’ve been working with Other Ocean to get some really cool Skybound Easter Eggs and bonus content into the game for our Insiders (including Walking Dead characters, naturally). Insiders can unlock this bonus content by linking their Oculus account at giantcop.skybound.com.

CLICK HERE TO BUY IT NOW!

In GIANT COP you play, well, a giant cop! Loom over Micro City and stop crime in story-based missions or just play around in a sandbox-like city. It’s an absolute blast and designed from the ground up to be a VR experience. GIANT COP is in the Oculus Store RIGHT NOW, and moving to other VR platforms in the near future (stay tuned for news on that). Watch the trailer below and then continue on to the full press release with even more details.

Here’s the full press release!

Other Ocean Announces Release Date for GIANT COP: Justice Above All

Giant Cop for Oculus Rift on Sale March 30

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ST JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR CANADA – March 20, 2017- Other Ocean Interactive

confirmed today that it will release the highly anticipated Giant Cop: Justice Above All on Oculus Rift

during EGX Rezzed in London UK, 10:00am (GMT), March 30th, 2017.

”Other Ocean is delighted to get Giant Cop into the hands of players. This is a game specifically

designed for a Virtual Reality experience as opposed to a game that was pushed to fit,” said Deirdre

Ayre, Other Ocean’s Head of Operations. “It’s the world’s first, and only, open world, giant-sized, VR

comic crime drama,” added Ayre.

“A key feature in Giant Cop is the open world in which you can explore Micro City,” said Ryan Hale,

Studio Head for Other Ocean. “Our team deliberately built Micro City with sandbox gameplay in mind.

This allows players a 3-4 hour experience of gameplay uncovering the crime syndicate that threatens

Micro City. But if you want to just explore the world and find hidden interactive objects you can do that

too – it’s limitless really.” said Hale.

Other Ocean is partnered with multiplatform entertainment company SKYBOUND Entertainment,

founded by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and business partner David Alpert. The

partnership has allowed The Walking Dead characters and Easter Eggs to be integrated into Giant Cop:

Justice Above All exclusively to SKYBOUND Insiders. SKYBOUND Insiders is a free membership program

which will also grant Giant Cop game owners updates, special offers and future merchandise features.

Giant Cop will first release on the Oculus Store for the Oculus Rift + Touch, priced at $24.99 USD.

Releases for other VR platforms will follow in the coming months.

Giant Cop was developed at Other Ocean’s St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador studio with valued

support from the Canada Media Fund.

###

About Giant Cop

You ARE Giant Cop! It’s your first day on the job and you need to hit the ground running in order to keep

the citizens of Micro City safe. Use your size to your advantage as you tower high above the city streets

enforcing the law, and use your wits to uncover a criminal plot that threatens the future of Micro City!

Micro City is broken into districts, each with a distinct identity where pedestrians react to your every

move. As Giant Cop, players can explore and play in the city while being tasked with missions like

ridding the city of the savage cabbage, cleaning up neighbourhood crimes like noise complaints and

keeping pesky protests under control. There is a colourful cast of characters, set in a 70s art and music

style, that you interact with along the way.

About Other Ocean Group
